>Opening [Quick Historical Overlook of Full Dive Virtual Reality] by RAMhead.
Year 2079 full dive virtual reality became a reality limited only to the rich 1% and some branches of the government do to its ludicrous price for hardware required. Many gaming websites all over the world proclaimed that full dive VR will be the future killer of Console and Computer gaming it only being held back currently by the price.
Year 2086 the full dive technology finally became available to average consumer and with that came lots of expectation in the gaming circle. The first affordable full dive pod had all the functions of a regular PC in theory and a catalog of remastered old titles from the last 7 years and 5 new triple A launch titles with more to come soon.
Year 2091 the full dive pod failed to out sell 3 of the 4 mainstream new gen gaming consoles and the one it did beat was a major flop reporting all-time low sales and even by comparison the pod outsold it by comparatively minimal margin. Any illusions of full dive VR being the console and PC gaming killer was shattered. It was not unprofitable having carved out its niche but it also was not the market redefining Juggernaut as predicted.
Year 2093 New generation of pods was being developed and a new major competitor in full dive VR market was born promising...

"Yeah that was about right if lacking in detail." Said a brown haired man that had a faint air of calm about him. "Back then public did not realize that waking up from full dive VR was unpleasant and the pod was not suited for anything but long gaming sessions can't exactly pick it up and drop it for a quick 10-minute gaming session while waiting for the next video upload by your favorite content creator." The light from the holographic screen shined off of their round glasses. The figure radiated faint amusement directed at the people of the past.
"The waking up unpleasantness has been solved Edmund you should know that more than anyone working in the VR industry. One would expect the guy hired to program OS for next generations full dive pod by one of the big players would know the device better." Said a blond that if one had to describe by looks would be playful beauty.
"I know Victoria but me working for the egg heads that making the full dive pods does not alter the past." Then his lips curved up in a smile. "You did not contest my other point thought."
"Why would I? Needing to commit to at least an hour-long play session to get anything done in VR that will not change anytime soon. Until you can casually pick up and drop it at will its audience will stay comparatively small. Besides this is not a competition Edmund you should know that. If you want something that does not put you in a sleep like state play augmented reality, classic console or computer games everyone knows that." Then she leaned in closer hugged his sitting form and then kissed him on the lips after couple of secounds separating their lips she spoke again while Edmund was still a bit dazed from the kiss. "Why where you looking at stuff you already knew dear?"

Edmund blushed. "To be honest I did not have much of a reason just wanted a quick refresher to amuse myself before the diner. More importantly do you remember how the entire code and assets of that VRMMO 'Magic Zodiac Online' was leaked online?" Asked Edmund pulling up some other website.
Now sitting next to him Victoria taped her chin thinking for a second before she remembered. "The one game that had the devs that then threw a temper tantrum when they could not find who leaked it and accidentally incriminated themselves for tax fraud and more in the process? It was all over the news years ago why the sudden interest?" Now that she was reminded she remembered watching internet drama videos about it when she was younger. She had trash taste about the 'news' channels she preferred. They were more drama than actual news. The younger her truly had no taste when it came to quality entertainment.
"Yeah those guys that went under soon after do to fines and lawsuits that came about do to that. Used to play the game often in the past as it was fun despite it having had heavily pay to win cash shop in the game. I plan to basically discard everything but the core engine and some of their better RPG systems and develop my own small MMO as a new hobby." Edmund said while he made couple more clicks with his mouse opening a search engine in the browser.
"Edmund isn't it risky using their code be they bankrupt or not?" While she did not personally mind the idea of his new hobby the legality was questionable as even if the company went under their franchises might have been bought by someone else and that someone else might actually care about private servers be it long since scarped game or not.
"No if there was one thing they did right it was that they gave in to the public outcry and made the code freely usable by the public when they shut down the official servers for the game." And with a last click an article loaded 'Magic Zodiac Onlines leaked game code and assets made legally usable by all. Electric Arts desperate for any and all positive PR while facing almost certain loss in court'. "So are you willing to be my game tester when I get closed alpha up and running honey?"
At that a smile grew on Victoria's face as if there was any other answer. "As long as I can be some kind of magic artist. Now I have to actually start cooking diner." With that she got up and left the room the last thing she heard from Edmund before closing the door was a request for burgers. Too bad he will have to deal with stuffed peppers today as she already had them in the refrigerator ready to be cooked.
