I opened my eyes, I wasn't cold from what it seems, oddly enough I felt warmth in the fall where the whole group were freezing their asses off. My vision was setting in and my eyes widened, I wasn't at the campsite. Where was I?
I was in a bedroom, moving the covers off of me. I scanned the place and tried to reach for my blade. I patted my side again. I didn't have my blades. "God dammit… who stole my shit…" I spoke in an angry tone.
I looked around, I tried to get a closer look but it was dark in the room. I went over to the mirror and what I saw shocked me; I looked younger than before.
I touched my cheek, I tried to figure out if this was real or not. I felt it, but how? I turned around and went over to my clock. It was 10:34 PM. This couldn't be…
Suddenly I heard an explosion, the orange flash shone through my room. I looked towards my window and saw that something exploded.
The door swung open, I flinched and turned around; I tried to grab for my blades again but I remembered that they were gone now, I guess that's now a habit. My eyes were now used to the dark and my eyes widened. "Cody, son… we have to go!" My dad spoke.
Tears formed in my eyes, why is this happening? Was it all a dream? Did I not have blades? "What's going on dad?" I went over to him. "The neighbours… they're crazy…" he picked me up.
I saw my mom run from room to room, she was gathering everything we needed; or so we thought we needed.
"I'm scared!" Aya spoke, she was hugging our dog; who's a golden retriever. Dad went over to Aya and lowered me over. "We will gather supplies. You two stay here!" He ran off.
Aya looked over at me and hugged me, I froze. Wasn't she dead? I hugged her back tightly. Vincent barked, he was getting into a protective stance, he began to growl aggressively.
Aya began to cry even louder, soon crashing was heard from downstairs. It sounded like the front door was breaking. Yes we had the doors that mostly had glass at the front.
My dad and mom came running over after hearing glass shattering. Dad had his gun out. "They've broken in." Dad spoke. Growling from downstairs was heard.

"I'm scared. Dad, are we going to be okay?" Aya looked over at our dad, and he nodded. "We will be okay sweetie." My dad went over to the stairs. "FREEZE!" He aimed his gun, flicking the safety off.
One of them turned towards him and growled, all of them began to stumble towards him. There were at least 5 of them. "I SAID BACK OFF!" My dad fired his gun, the bullet entered where one of their hearts was located. They stumbled back and continued to growl. "What the hell…" my dad muttered as they began to walk up the steps, though they were struggling.
"THE HEAD!" I yelled and my dad looked at me. "WHAT?" He aimed his gun again. "SHOOT THEM IN THE HEAD!" I yelled even louder. He probably couldn't hear that well because of the sounds of gunshots.
My dad listened and aimed it at the guy's head, firing. It fell down the stairs, the biter rolled and slid against the floor; but the sliding stopped due to the group of biters.
My dad stormed over to me. "How did you know how to kill it?" My eyes widened, even though I didn't find out till my first biter kill.
"J-Just a guess." I lied and stood up. "Come Aya, we need to get out of here." I grabbed her hand, Aya looked up at me with a frightened look on her face. "I'll protect you… I promise." I smiled. Aya stood up and nodded. "Okay…"
As my dad was shooting the other biters, the sound of glass breaking returned. Were there more of them?
My mom ran over. "We're escaping through the window, come on." She grabbed both of our hands as my dad reloaded.
He backed up on the stairs and tripped, he fell down towards the biters. My eyes widened, knowing this was a dream, I could do something about it now.
I began to think hard, running towards the stairs. A pistol popped right in my hands. "Lucid dream?" I whispered in confusion and aimed it at the biters. I fired the gun. Killing the remaining ones in the house. My dad turned to me, his eyes widened.
"Where did you get that gun?" My dad ran back up the stairs. "No time to explain." That was the only thing I could really say, what else was there? That it poofed into my hands?
We went over to the window, seeing my mom and Aya stare in shock. My dad helped me out and I looked around. Biters filled the streets, our neighbourhood was their god damn feast.
"Okay uhhh. Where do we go?" My dad looked around. "Our car duh." My mom sighed as Vincent ran out the front door. "Shit!" I muttered and slid down towards the edge of the roof. "CODY WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! GET BACK HERE!" My dad protectively yelled.
"I gotta save Vincent!" He began to think. "Let's see if this would work…" I muttered as I closed my eyes. I heard gasps from behind me, I took that as a yes as I opened my eyes.
I felt around my head. "It worked." I snickered. "I'm now a demi." I hopped down but soon everything stopped. I was frozen as I heard echoes.
I opened my eyes to see Dak shaking me. "Wake up. It's your turn." Dak spoke.
I looked around. "Oh, alright. Have a nice nap." I sat up and stared at the campfire, the others weren't back yet.
Stalker, Andrew, Emmy, Aria, Ash and Evelyn were closing in on the campsite. "We're getting close." Stalker sounded relieved that they were returning.
I heard running in the forest, so I stood up. "Wake up!" I shook Dak, he groaned. "What?" Dak grumbled.
"Someone's heading towards us." I aimed my gun in the direction of the running, Dak aimed his bow, an arrow in lock.
A girl appeared, collapsing to the ground. "Are you okay?" Dak ran over. She tried to explain what was happening but she was out of breath and panicking.
A biter came into view. "DAK!" I yelled, which began waking everyone up. Dak turned around. "Oh shit…" the biter inched itself closer to Dak's neck.
