Prologue: The Dawn Of Darkness

The world, once a safe place for humans, was now overshadowed by fear and uncertainty. Long ago, no one even imagined monsters, and the idea of a world where humans were threatened by forces from beyond was no more than a fairy tale. But everything changed when the Rift appeared—a tear in the fabric of their reality.

This Rift, as it was called, was not just an ordinary portal. The energy that it radiated disrupted nature, weakened magic, and granted monsters—the Feralis—access to their world. No one knew where the Feralis came from, exactly. But the tales told by elders painted a picture of a sinister realm filled with endless darkness, where only despair and chaos existed.

The Feralis, as these creatures came to be known, appeared in all shapes and sizes. Most had hides covered in scales or thick, armor-like plates that gleamed like wet stone in the moonlight. Their limbs were twisted and irregular, sometimes long and thin like branches, sometimes muscular and studded with thorns. Their eyes—always fierce and glowing, as if powered by fire itself—struck fear into every heart. And then there was their presence, an intense, oppressive aura that seemed to strangle the air itself, as if the world reacted to their mere existence. Their deep, strange mental noises awakened a sense of dread in all who were near.

The Feralis first appeared in the deserted regions of the Borderlands. They were few in number at first, but they soon proved difficult to defeat. The more Feralis entered through the Rift, the stronger they seemed to become, spreading further and further. Wherever they appeared, the land decayed, colors faded, and even sunlight seemed dimmed by their presence.

Desperate to protect their people, the kingdom acted quickly and established the Protector Academies, where young people with special gifts were trained to combat the Feralis. These gifts, known as Talents, differed from person to person: some could control the elements, others had heightened senses, or the ability to read thoughts. In a world where strength and magic became necessities, life without Talent became a curse and a burden.
