Blood was dripping from my arms, my legs, and from the hole in the armor that covered my stomach. It created a pool on the ground where I laid. I wasn’t sure if the pain was already gone or if it was too much too handle so my brain decided not to feel it anymore.
‘This sucks…’
The damp of the cave or the hardness of the ground were no longer bugging me. All I could think about was I need to survive this. It seemed impossible but I have to. Or else they will get away after doing this to me.
‘Like hell I will let them.’
‘I’ll find you, expose you, and end you the way you did it to me. Painfully, slowly…’
‘Even if it’s the last thing I do!’
The idea of them standing there in my place, sharing the news about my death, pretending to be sad… it lit something inside me. Hurt? Anger? Betrayal? Whatever it is, it became the source of life force that kept me alive.
Or so I thought.
A shadow, two meters tall and wide, moving closer to my limp body. I didn’t realize since when my vision isn’t that blurry anymore. I could see all the intense dark aura emerging from the coming creature. I took a closer look and was shocked when I saw a big grey skull floating in the place where a head should be. It wore a robe darker than anything I’ve ever seen before.

Everything about that creature screams out one word: death.
‘No, it can’t be. This can’t be over yet! Don’t you dare come any closer!’
I tried to speak, push the air from the bottom of my lungs, but nothing happened. The words only came out inside my own head.
I’ve heard stories about how death works in this world. How terrifying it is for every soul that passed without being accompanied by the holy god’s blessing. How they will be cursed by the god of death itself. So I knew what would happen.
The creature was now right in front of me, all big and intimidating. It held out its hand as it reached my head. If my heart can still move, it will definitely beat rapidly at this moment.
However, as the creature touched me, it wasn’t like I expected it would be. It wasn’t painful, it wasn’t cold, it wasn’t even scary. If anything, I would say… serene. Nothing really matters anymore.
…
…
…
“No! I won’t allow it! I’m not gonna die today!”
I’m not sure how it happened, but suddenly, I found my voice. The creature froze, as if my words startled it. It had no eyes but I could feel that it looked at me like it was finally looking at something for the first time.
Then, it spoke. With a deep, resonating voice that could fill up this entire space.
"I found you."
