Slaves in the Border!

-----------------------------------------

'In the barely lit room, Dae finally finished cleaning all of the mess he made.'

'All of the magical circles made from his blood had been cleaned, and the ground was now impeccable.'

'Although… His inventory was now filled with trash… It looked disgusting.'

"Urg…"

'Dae couldn't help but grimace at the state of his inventory…'

It's necessary… Necessary…

/COOOUNG!/

'As Dae was cleaning the ground, heavy metallic sounds suddenly echoed in the room.'

About time…

I was getting bored of this place already... And the food... And I would like to shit in a proper toilet for once...

'For the past two weeks, Dae remained inside a barely lit metal box. His only source of food was the tasteless rations given to him.'

'He had to shit and piss inside a special magic circle else this place would be…'

'Thankfully, he brought with him snacks and other hygiene tools, else this would've been unbearable.'

/Katchiiiiin…/

'The metallic ceiling slowly opened, shining light into Dae.'

MY EYES!!

'The Purple knights looked at the skinny boy, who did not see the sun for two weeks and almost felt pity.'

'After two weeks eating just rations, it was obvious his body would be in a bad state. Dae is far from being strong enough to endure such bad treatment without side effects.'

'Nevertheless, they continued with their jobs as they activated a special magic circle, and a stair made out of blue light appeared for Dae.'

"Is… Is it over?" Asked Dae in a weak voice

'The purple knights didn't say anything, they stayed there, motionless, waiting.'

"..."

These guys are like statues…

'Dae was indeed weak after he spent two weeks drawing runes on the ground and walls from his blood.'

'But he was still much stronger than what most people expected, hence, he had to act weak to not attract any more attention.'

"Wha… What now?" Asked Dae after he climbed the stairs

/Katchiiiiin…/

/COOOUNG!/

'The ceiling of the suspended metal box closed, together with all of the evidence of what happened inside.'

(If you forgot, Dae was inside a metal box, suspended by chains, the only way to access it is through a bridge, the place where the knights are right now)

'This mystery was now forever buried…'

/Step step…/

'The purple knights started to march out of the room without even looking at Dae.'

"W-Wait!" Said Dae as he went after them

I wonder how much has changed outside…

/Poof/

"Aww… How many did I read?" Asked Philip as he closed yet another book in the library

[Scholar Vision Lv6 -> Lv7]

Oh? Right on time.

'Philip closed the book and looked at the clock hanging on the ceiling of the library.'

/17:56/

"Almost 6…"

And Dae is still nowhere to be seen, and the one-month period is almost ending…

The last day of training was today. Just a round-up of everything we learned in the past 30 days or so.

"It was super boring…"

Every day was hell, with my body suffering to go through everything...

But the training yielded results…

My shortcomings from fighting monstrous creatures in the dream were mostly fixed while I also gained the final Title Old man Vista said I needed.

[Soldier

Description: You passed through all sorts of hardships and learned the minimum necessary to operate in the massive machine that is an army.

Effects: Physical and Mind Boost when fighting in a formation, the boost depends on how big and organized the army is. Up to a certain level.

Only counts if the other members of the formation have the same Title.

]

This was the fourth Title that I had to gain.

So, from the 5 Talents I was supposed to get, I got Scholar, Martial and Magical Enthusiast, Blessed, and Soldier…

Apart from Scholar and Blessed, the other two seem quite missable, but I guess I am a special case since I have a lot of Titles to choose from.

'Philip picked another book from the pile and opened.'

'In the past month, especially the past two weeks, he spent most of his time in the library, seeing as many books as he could.'

'Thanks to his Mental library, he didn't need to memorize and comprehend the books, only to scan them and his Scholar Vision would Level up.'

'If you forgot what it does, here it is:'

[Mental Library: Due to the absorption of the Phantom library, a new subdivision has taken shape inside the Castle town. The Mental library will greatly help you in all activities revolving around the acquisition of knowledge.

All books that you read will gain a copy inside the Mental library.]

'Thanks to this, Philip managed to scan an incredible amount of books. Even if he was far from scanning all of them, he still did many, dozens every day.'

'In order to maximize his time, he focused on the more important ones such as Magic and Combat knowledge.'

'All things from materials to locations. However, he didn't read much about politics or history, and geography was also neglected for the most part.'

'However, such opportunities are bound to appear again eventually…'

"And my stats didn't rise much… I guess this is normal."

In fact, they almost didn't grow.

Raising stats in this world is incredibly difficult, the easiest way is through a Level up, but we already know how hard it is for a normal person to achieve that.

My current stats are already high for a Level 0, they won't rise any further if I stick to normal training.

The only way for me to get stronger is through my classes since Leveling up my Main status won't give me any stats.

It's like this, let's pick a person with the Soldier Class and one with the Mage Class.

Both are Level 1 and both are the normal variants. Meaning, they are the average Mob.

No Elite Soldier Class or Pure Mage Class… Just the normal variants.

'There are many shapes and forms for each Class, some have more than others while some are Unique. The Wizard is a good example, as you could be an Apprentice Wizard, Fire Wizard, Water Wizard, Blood Wizard, and so on…'

'Back to the analysis…'

"The Soldier Class gives you 0.2 of Mind, 1.3 of Physical and 0.6 of Energy every Level up, while the normal Mage Class gives you 1 of Mind, 0.1 of Physical, 2.3 of Energy, and 0.05 of Spiritual with every Level up."

This would mean that at Level 10, their stats would be like this:

For the Soldier: 2 of Mind, 13 of Physical, and 6 of energy.

For the Mage: 10 of Mind, 1 of Physical, 23 of Energy, and 0.5 of Spiritual.

So it's clear, that stat-wise, the Mage Class is better than the Soldier Class. However, strength is not purely based on stats...

And if we take a look at my stats… I am comparable to a Level 35 Soldier in physical and a Level 100 Mage in Mind.

It's obvious how strange this situation actually is… But this doesn't mean I am strong yet.

"Of course, some Classes are stronger than others."

For example, it is known that the Royal Captain Class gives you 1 Mind, 5 Physical, and 10 Energy every Level up.

Not counting things like Skills and Abilities related to the Class.

It's clear that I am not that strong yet when you look at the bigger picture.

What good is there in being able to defeat a Level 50-60 Soldier? It's just a mob.

I might lose if I try to fight even a Level 10 Royal Captain.

"Or so it seems... However..."

"There is one thing most people seem to forget…"

And that that almost no one is born with such a high Class.

They need to work slowly from the bottom.

For example, from Level 1 to 3 as a Villager, and from Level 3 to 24 as a Soldier, then from Level 24 to 41 as an Elite Soldier, then from 41 to 69 as a General, and then finally, from Level 69 to 100 as a Commander.

Each gives this person their own stats and abilities. They would have to grow slowly in the profession in order to grow stronger.

This is only an example and by no means would someone follow this in particular.

But this is to show that not everyone would always be… Maximized.

Some may start better than others, and that's why things like nobility are so stable in this world.

You have to live with the fact that some people are simply way better than you... Some may even be born with a Race superior to yours.

That's why this system of Nobility has been maintained for so long... Although, I didn't really read that many history books to say this is the main reason.

But in essence...

I doubt even the strongest knight I saw so far, the King's left hand, would have started his career with his current Class.

"However… There are always some exceptions… And these are the ones who worry me."

To one day fight against one of those monsters…

Dae and Petter are good examples, they may be weak now but this is because their Level is low, once they start Leveling…

I won't be able to catch up to them unless I get a Class with a lot of potential from my Skill.

Since when I Level up, I don't get anything at all since I 'don't have' a Class.

So I need to grow the Classes I get from my Unique Skill.

In the end, my Main Status is the one I should be looking after. I need to do everything I can to increase its strength, otherwise, I will be trapped in these seemingly random Classes forever.

And I don't think I have infinite time to grow stronger...

'With that in his mind, Philip opened the book and started to read it…'

"One thing at a time."

/4 Hours later…/

/Poof/

'Philip closed yet another book. But he didn't pick another despite there being several on the table.'

"..."

Where is that fucker? Did he die from starvation or something?

I have many questions…

{How cute, missing me so much… I'm gonna cry.}

"##!!"

/Inhale... Exhale.../

'Philip breathed in and out in order to calm down.'

{Fuck of from my head, in fact, how did you break into my defenses this time?!}

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.

'Philip couldn't believe it, he had somehow learned how to manipulate his Mental power and yet this guy still breached his defenses?!'

{Come on Philip, despite you having quantity and quality, you have no substance.}

{I can easily breach such novice defenses even if your Mind stat is 10 times that of mine.}

Although with some difficulty… But he doesn't need to know that.

I am allowed to flex from time to time right?

{For the love of God… I swear I won't rest easy until I make you…}

[The Connection has been forcefully terminated]

/BAM!/

/CRACK!/

'Philip slammed his fist on the table.'

[Castle Town soothes your emotions…]

"..."

/Inhale... Exhale.../

"Phew… I guess not seeing him for two weeks has made me soft to his provocations."

/Step step…/

'As Philip calmed down, the sounds of walking sounded behind him.'

"..."

"Guess who it is?" Asked Dae with his arms opened

"... You look like a twig." Said Philip as he realized the sorry state of Dae

"Urg… That's what happens when you spend so much time in that shithole. How are you doing?" He asked as he sat in one of the table's chairs

'Philip opened his inventory and picked a bag of cookies, handing it to Dae who happily started to eat them.'

"I am alright, I finished the entire course of training and got the Title, but my stats didn't rise much at all." Said Philip as he shook his head

"But I got the materials you asked for. I still wonder what you want these for." He said as he took several bags from his inventory

"And what took you so long?"

"...Urg… Don't even talk about that." Said Dae as he looked at the ceiling

"I had to go through a lengthy and boring lecture from the head instructor, you know who, the military guy, followed by a beating from the Adventurer girl, and then I spent the rest of my time reading some books they forced into me."

"And in between those, I ate and took a shower. I barely managed to escape the monitoring of the agents."

'After Dae finished, he took the materials into his inventory and said:'

"These materials... Tomorrow, you will see it tomorrow."

'He ate another cookie and said:'

"The time has come, right? Tell me, after reading so many books and living in here for a month, what do you think of this world?"

"... It seems to be a fun yet cruel world. The people of today seem to be controlled by the matters that happened in the far past, without any choice if they wish to partake in it or not."

'Dae smiled as he closed his eyes, remembering something.'

"So tell me, do you wish to return home? After seeing what you can get in this world?"

"Hm… Yeah… But only if I can return back. I think I would suffer more if I returned and couldn't come back."

"HA!"

'Dae laughed.'

"What's funny about this?"

"Nothing… There is really… Nothing funny about this…" Said Dae as he gazed deeply at the glass ceiling of the library, gazing at the stars far beyond them

"You think I will ignore the shit you just said and brush it off like an Npc?"

"There is really nothing man!"

"... So be it you creep."

"..."

'After a small bit of silence, Dae opened his mouth to say:'

"In any case, tomorrow, that's the day when you bailout." Said Dae

"Why tomorrow? Would there be many more opportunities later? Things would get easier if the instructors left, right?" Asked Philip in slight confusion

I knew it was going to be right after the training, but currently, there are four super-strong guys in here… Wouldn't it be better to wait?

"Yes, you are right, however, we don't have time to wait."

"Normally, even if those 4 leave, it would still be impossible to escape this place, however, ironically, thanks to corruption you can escape this place."

'Dae picked a map.'

(Image, some locations aren't showing in this map due to me censoring it and also because it's easier for me to build a story when there is free space, the map will be updated over time.)

"We are currently in the Never-Ending mountain range. Right about here." Said Dae as he pointed toward a certain place on the right side of the map

"Below us, almost directly to the South, is the capital of the Derivia Kingdom… Derivia."

"However, the place where I want you to go is right about here…" He said as he pointed towards the middle section of the map

"This is the Divine Abode for all talented youths in the Continent… The Parad Academy."

"Academy? Do you want me to become a student?" Asked Philip

I read about this... It's a very very famous place.

It's a School/University/Self-governing city where the most talented of the Continent gather.

Their principal is supposedly a 9Th Rank Archmage

"No Philip, it's something else."

"As you can see by the map, the Continent is divided in half by the Mountain range, and the South is divided in two by this immense river. The Descending Sea River."

"Normally, it's impossible to travel to the North from the South due to the many regulations and laws of immigration, but we can take a special route in the mountains and… Here we are."

"And in two days, there will be the perfect opportunity to travel, because you see, this valley is surrounded by an immense wall of mountains and security towers."

"This only makes things harder... So how do I pass this 'wall'?" Asked Philip

"We will make use of an event… You could call it… The trigger to the War between the races."

"It's such a massive thing?" Asked Philip

"Not really, this event would be used as an excuse to start it more than anything, because both sides are in the wrong."

"It's like this, currently, the Elven Empire is in incredible political instability due to their current Emperor being on the verge of… Ascending as a God."

"WHAT?!"

Suddenly elves and now a God?!

"Do you mean this guy is a so-called Demi-God?"

"Yeah… However, he isn't as strong as you think… He might be a Demi-god, but he is super old."

"Even to an Elf, he is so Old that he was already considered Old 1000 years ago."

"Normally, Elf lives 250 years, and high Elf lives 300."

"But this guy was already old 1000 ago!"

"Damn!" Said Philip

In comparison, a Human tends to live till his 80's and High-Human is up to his 150's

Dwarves Live till their 200's but their age has a much wider gap since some can seemingly live till their 400's.

"Due to his age, currently, all of the qualified descendants are fighting to see who will inherit the throne… Because by doing so, you gain power, fame, wealth, and… A chance to become a God as well. Or at least, that's what they think."

As if becoming Emperor was enough... If it was that easy then he would've become one in the future... But he didn't even get close.

He did get much stronger though.

"And what that has to do with us?" Asked Philip

"Patience. Elves always had this sort of collective anger towards Humans, but this anger has mostly disappeared in the recent generations, being transformed more into some sort of… Superiority."

"Now that we understand all of this shit... That the Elves are in a 'civil war' between the Crow candidates, let's find out what they have to do with us."

"Currently, if you go to the North, deep in the forest and close to the mountains you will see many Orcs settlements… Normally, this wouldn't be seen as out of the norm since these very Orcs will be used as training dummies and XP bags for us."

"However, the Guards responsible for reporting and taking care of the Orcs and other creatures of the forest have long since been replaced and corrupted by the traitors of the Kingdom."

"And as we speak, the Orcs grow in power and number… In essence, a small army is being assembled right inside the heart of the Kingdom… Funny right?"

"Wow…" Said Philip in surprise

If only I had some popcorn…

"But Philip, this isn't all."

"An army can't be raised just like that, not by the traitors' own efforts after all. Those guys move for profit, and making such an army would do them no good."

"And this is where the Elves enter."

"They made a deal with those traitors, and together, they raised this army… But this is only a distraction for their true goal…"

'Dae pointed towards a small mountain right towards the North.'

"There is a secret path right here, this path connects the North to the South, this is how their supplies and personnel have been moving around in secret. An old and abandoned Dwarf mining tunnel. Repurposed to be a secret supply path."

'Dae looked at Philip and said with a serious expression.'

"And this is how… They have been smuggling Elves towards the Human territory."

"WHAT?! Are you telling me Elves are selling themselves?!" Asked Philip

"Those aren't any Elves, they are criminals and those considered to be unfit to live with the others… The exiled and abandoned…"

"However, that's only on paper, the truth is that most of those Elves are actually civilians and nobles… Those who oppose the First Prince, the strongest candidate, to sit on the throne."

"The oldest and most capable of the dozens of candidates... And also, the fiance to one of the Elves strongest summoned Heroes."

"And among these slaves is… A young talented Elven princess… Who just happened to be, one of the most likely candidates for the throne."

"..."

So this is all just a game for the throne?

"It seems you are starting to realize what is happening."

"In two days, the Orcs will be mobilized right as the Human Heroes are training, and just after the 4 instructors left."

"This would make this place extremely weakened."

"..."

So they have this level of information?! Doesn't this mean that someone really close to us is one of the traitors?

"Stop for a moment, why not just send one strong dude and wipe all of us out?" Asked Philip

"Oh? Simple, if the Elves did that, they would be wiped out by the Human Demi-God in retaliation of course! If not by him, then by the other Demi-Gods."

"? Can you explain this better?" Asked Philip

'Dae nodded as if expecting this.'

"There is a pact, that once you reach a certain amount of power, you can't interfere with events up to a certain level, and you have to sign it. Unless in some very specific circumstances." Said Dae

Like when a Demi-God daughter was captured by a Prince who lusted after her... The guy was so enranged that he invaded the Kingdom...

That place is now erased from history...

"What if you grow strong without knowing that this existed?" Asked Philip

"Very hard, but not impossible, in that case, you would either receive a warning, or you would be wiped out." Said Dae

'Philip was pensive…'

"But let's forget about this for now and go back to business."

"Once the Orcs attack, it's obvious that chaos will rage."

"And what's their objective?" Asked Philip

"With the Orcs? To buy time and divert attention. Their secondary objective is to kill as many of us as possible."

"... Shit."

"The Orcs aren't that strong individually, in fact, you could, most likely, kill their strongest at this very moment."

"Most likely huh..." Whispered Philip to himself

Fuck me then Dae... Now you ask me to kill something, next time you want me to steal from a Noble...

In fact, isn't that my main objective already?!

"The problem is their numbers. Over 10 Thousand Orcs are waiting for us…"

"In this place, we have barely 100 capable warriors, those being the purple knights. The maids and other workers are passable at most, and the secret agents wouldn't appear just for this..."

I won't even include the other Heroes.

"Unless things really go to shit, the agents will be most likely investigating the origin of these Orcs or protecting the King... If he is even here right now. He is a busy guy after all."

If I am not mistaken, the King will accompany the General when he leaves, only to come back later when ts time to leave this place... In the previous timeline, he came back in a hurry when he learned of the attack.

"As the Orcs attack us, they will use this opportunity to smuggle the high priority Elves into the territory."

"Why all of this? Didn't they smuggle the elves already?" Asked Philip

"Do you really think the King doesn't know of this? He allows it because it's profitable. It's much better to have the crime be right below his eyes than in the shadows. If he removed them, others would rise to take their place, and it would be hard to keep track of them."

"Nevertheless, the King knows where to stop, the moment he realizes there is a princess and nobles in this batch, he would send his army to intercept…"

'Philip then realized…'

"But if the Orcs are attacking… This means they will enter the territory and then…"

'Dae nodded.'

"The Elves will use this as an excuse to blame the Human king down… Not only them but also several other races."

"Because there aren't only Elves this time, but also Dwarfs, Demi-Humans and Beast Humans…"

"A terrific hive nest would've been poked…" Said Philip as he grimaced

"And in war, many things can happen. The first prince can use this opportunity to further his power and eliminate more of his competition since not all of them can evade being drafted into the War."

And in War, who can guarantee to be safe? The perfect place to clear out some competition.

"The Human traitors will get what they want and bail out to who knows where."

"And the Humans would have to retreat completely into the South, abandoning their final territories in the North… As the flames of War start to Consume the Continent."

'Philip stayed there thinking about what he heard.'

"Impressive isn't it? The first prince is just that smart. He has long since planned for this. His victory is assured. And he won in the end…"

"Many died, and the Elves entered into a new prosperous era under his rule."

"The first prince wasn't an idiot, in fact, he was a perfect ruler. He saw most of the races as equal in the sense that, they all had similar potentials, so he always aimed precisely at their worth… Their exclusive abilities."

"However, he only cared about the Elves. He didn't bat an eye if he had to sacrifice the entirety of Humanity only to boost his own rule."

"And so he did with many races… The Elves lived happily for many years until… Everything went up in smoke as he realized that his Empire wasn't really that strong."

When everything went to shit, it was already too late to change anything...

"Time passed as he saw everyone he cared for die and his land burn, he realized there was nothing he could do anymore since… There were no more talents alive to help him. Since he killed them all in the cradle."

"His Gods had abandoned him, all hope was lost."

"And he eventually grew mad and from that is just a shit show." Said Dae as he smiled

"Pathetic in my opinion, but at the same time, he is worthy of some pity, because ever since the start, he was nothing but an over-glorified Pawn."

We cant remove such a pawn right now, at most, we can delay some of his moves... Up to a certain extent.

"..."

'Philip remained in there, processing everything he heard.'

"So, let me see if I understood what you said."

"You want me to go to this Parad Academy."

'Dae noded.'

"And the only way to get there is through the passageway in the North."

'Dae noded.'

"You most likely want me to disrupt the Orcs and save the Elves right?"

'Dae nodded. Giving Philip a thumbs up.'

"Alright, let's say I can do all of that. What about my identity? How the fuck will I move inside the North? When it's clearly very hard for Humans to access that place?"

"I have a solution for that, till this point, I only told you the context, from now on it's the true plan."

'Dae lifted his hand, his five fingers opened.'

"Five months. You have 5 months to finish everything I will tell you right now and to come back."

"Why? Just looking at how big this continent is, it would take quite some time to arrive at the Academy… Even an airplane would take over half a day to get there in a straight line." Said Philip

"There are many ways to get there fast, I will tell you those later."

"For now, hear me out."

'He wrote 'Day one' on a paper on the side.'

"Tomorrow is day one, on that day, we will get you the last achievement plus some other things."

"The last one? What is it about?"

"Not now Philip, it would take quite a bit of saliva to go through it." Said Dae in a smile

"Alright, continue." Said Philip as he knew the asshole was keeping quiet to mess with him

Bitch.

"After you get the final achievement and my final tips, I will send you on your way."

"From them on, you will have… I speculate around 24 hours to kill as many Orcs as you can."

"As many as I can? Why? Wouldn't it be enough to kill their leader or something?"

"There are many benefits… The main one will be revealed to you tomorrow… The rest… You know some of them… It's already time to change that Class right?"

"!!"

He is right. I didn't use this Class for long, but I used it long enough.

And I have an inkling of suspicion that something will happen when I max those stats.

"Once that is done, you will have to save the slaves in there. How? That's up to you, but expect resistance from the people in there."

"The slavers aren't like the Orcs, they are bound to be stronger."

"Heh, the guy with the future knowledge can't tell me about that?" Said Philip in Irony

"Fuck you, such minor events fade out as the years pass, I already told you a lot so shut it for now…"

This bitch…

'Dae knew Philip was just making a stupid joke to lighten the mood, however… He isn't someone to be made fun of!'

"There is also something I would like you to do when you save them." Said Dae

"What is it?"

"Try to… Make a GOOD impression on the princess please."

"... What?"

"Man, look. She is someone in dire circumstances and she needs some help. Although the chance of her winning the war for the throne is low, she is still very talented and relatively loved by the current Emperor."

Even though she is his Grand grand grand grand... Grandaughter.

"I don't think being on good terms with this current Emperor is good, isn't it best if I don't exist in his eyes?" Asked Philip

"Being in neutral terms would be a better word for it. However, he isn't our target… It's her Grandmother."

"What?"

"She is the reason why this princess is considered to be a big candidate."

"It is because she inherited her grandma's Class and abilities…"

"They hold a lot of meaning to the Elves."

"Sigh… Saving her and saying some good words should be enough right? And also, what guarantees she will be able to return home alive?"

"Her personal knight, don't underestimate him. Despite the way he looks, he is very very strong... As strong as the Red knight."

"There are less than a dozen such knights in the entire Elven Empire."

Although most remain in seclusion... Many powerhouses seem to choose seclusion instead of fame and wealth...

"If he is so strong, how did she get captured?"

"Because he is poisoned, heavily… In fact, I will give you a cure for it later on, however, I am not 100% sure it will work, much less, if he will trust you afterward." Said Dae

"Just make sure to not leave a bad impression on them, as long as you save them, the knight will be able to recover overtime and take the princess home."

"Alright, that's a given, what next?" Asked Philip

"After that, you should take on the passageways, there should be a map in there somewhere, perhaps, one of the slaves might even know the way."

"As long as you can arrive at the other side within a week, you can consider yourself to be golden."

"Hm… So, Talent, Orcs, Slaves, Passageway. Got it."

'Dae nodded, proceeding with his explanation.'

"Once you arrive at the other side, you will go with what I will tell you tomorrow, getting a new identity and finding a way to arrive at the Academy within another week."

"From there on, you will work in the Academy as a… Jailor."

"..."

"..."

'The two looked at each other with blank eyes.'

"Don't look at me like that, there are many perks in being one, and also, it's much easier to become one rather than a student."

"I will go into details tomorrow anyway, so let's go over this quickly."

'Philip remained silent…'

"You should use this opportunity to get the 3 Origin Orbs inside the Academy, more on that tomorrow."

"Hopefully, you can finish this task within 2 months since you left this place because another big event will happen… Over here." Said Dae as he pointed towards a ravine South of the Academy

"This is the only entrance that connects the North to the South apart from these caves and dangerous mountain paths… Not considering Sea routes and Sky paths."

"It is also the only true Neutral zone in the entire Continent… The Path of Freedom."

"The name is due to something that happened looooooong ago. Over 1000 years ago."

In fact, the name of this passageway came from a mistranslation from the ruins found in there...

"The path is actually, an immense ravine that cuts the mountain range in half."

"And yes, it was in fact man-made by one rude guy who decided to cut the mountain range in half, who knows how long ago."

"... Someone, cut a mountain range in half? One that goes for hundreds of kilometers?"

"Yes. Perfectly so in fact." Replied Dae

"If it wasn't for all of the houses and other buildings, you would see the walls of the ravine are perfectly smooth."

"..."

Perhaps I should just go home…

"In any case, there is a city that was built in the middle of the passageway."

"You can say the city is free of any government influence, but that is not true, since the city is considered to be under Human authority… And those races in the North don't like that at all."

"Like, they exiled the Humans from the North, and yet, they still prosper?"

"In any case, there will be yet another important event in there."

The fall of the Free city...

"And let me guess, I will have to fix it?" Asked Philip

"No."

"??"

Now I am confused

"You only need to postpone it as much as you can, the more you do, the more you prolong these 'peaceful times'. Meaning, the War will be pushed. As for how... Tomorrow."

"War is inevitable, but the more time we have to grow, the better."

"I see, is that all for today?"

"No, because apart from that, you also need to save one more person when you arrive there."

"Who?"
