Malecia was busy tidying herself up in the bathroom. Cleaning the blood from her face, disinfecting the horrible scarring from blisters on her skin, and staring at the mirror until she could get her teeth and nails to shrink. After a while of thinking random thoughts and saying stupid phrases, the memory of thinking of being full from a hearty meal came from the back of her mind. Pausing, she brought the thought of eating a full table of food and being full to the front of her mind, she watched as her bottom and top canines slowly slid back into her gums. It was conveniently easy. ‘Thank you’ she thought in appreciation, there was no response. Malecia frowned slightly at that, the thing in the back of her mind felt like a person, but at the same time not. She felt that it only responded to things that made it feel very strong emotion or when being reminded of people and how to do things, but nothing else. She decided to not think about it too much at the moment. It wasn't important. As she was stripping her nightgown in order to take a shower, a vibrating sound stopped her from turning on the shower and stepping in. She walked out of her bathroom naked, passing by the dresser and standing in the center of her room to look for the source of the sound.
Her eyes trained on a nightstand she did not see when she woke up. The nightstand was uncharacteristically small, taking into account the overly large furniture that occupied the rest of the abode, the nightstand almost blended into the dark navy blue that the walls were painted in. She walked towards the nightstand and opened the top drawer she reached inside and took out a caseless dark blue phone. The screen deployed the name ‘Pepp’, the image of a figure appeared in her mind to attach the name to. She could only describe this ‘person’ as it. Not in a demeaning or mean way, they just simply did not look human, or human enough. It had a face of only skin and no defining features other than a mouth which it used to speak with. It had limbs that were too skinny for its body and legs that were too long. Its shoulders were wider than they needed to be and its hair was so long it covered most of its faceless face. When opening its mouth you could see rows upon rows of teeth that stretched all the way down into its pitch black maw. Overall, its body was unusual and looked like a troubled child had projected their imaginary friend into the world.
She looked at the phone that was on its 4th vibration by now and answered it, Malecia only had people she liked and trusted in her contacts, so it should be no problem to answer.
“Malecia, good morning.”. It whispered into the phone. Its voice was so soft she could mistake it for a toddler but at the same time somewhat scratchy. Malecia turned from the nightstand and hummed in acknowledgement to its greeting. “To you as well, Pepp.” her voice, she had just realized, was deep, not in the sense that it was so low you could feel vibrations run through your ears, but it could definitely put you to sleep.
Rustling came from the other side of the phone before she got her response, “Will you be attending school today?”, it asked thoughtfully. “No.”, she responded, it would be best to stay home from school a day or two to get herself together. “Really?”, it questioned, in as much surprise it could put into its tone. “Mmm, I have a…silly little accident I have to take care of, I won't be attending until further notice.”, she had the feeling that awakening all her memories in one sitting was a smart decision. “I understand.”, it stated, pausing a bit before asking, “Was it Damien?”. She felt that name was vaguely familiar but couldn't put a face to it, “Who?”
A little more rustling was heard before her answer came. “Your brother.” Intense irritation made itself known from the recesses of her mind, thankfully it wasn't too much and she managed to not break her phone when being referred to as that thing's sister. She took a deep breath to calm herself, even if she didn't need it it still helped.
“Watch what you say, he is a vermin,”. She hissed the word as if it were a slur, “he is not worthy of the title of being my brother.”
This was starting to get ridiculous, she could understand not liking someone, but the words coming out of her mouth were filled with so much disgust she was inclined to believe the original Malecia had some type of undiagnosed illness.
A memory began to make itself known to her. An imposing male voice came from a figure of a man with a blurry face before her who stood next to the servant who carried a baby Damien. “This little insect will be your servant for the remainder of its stay.” The man turned his head towards Damien who stirred in the arms of the servant. He babbled in baby talk before locking eyes with Malecia, he smiled and laughed adorably and made grabby hands towards her. She scowled at it. “Where did you get it, Papa?” Her voice sounded much the same as now. “Your whorish Mother thinks it is funny to play around with mortal men.” Malecia’s face twisted in disgust and disappointment, “So this little bastard came from one of Ma’s playthings.”. She stepped closer to the baby and lifted a finger, she held it over its face, it made cute giggling sounds as it tried to grab at her finger. Once he caught her finger in his little baby fist he looked at her and smiled as if looking for praise for his valiant effort. The makings of a smile made her lips twitch before she shook her head and looked at the little thing with disgust. Making a gagging sound she snatched her finger from his hand and wiped it on the servant's sleeve. “Why do I have to keep it?” she asked, feeling aggrieved, she didn't want this thing. The man patted her shoulder in comfort before explaining, “Your mother is a very powerful 3rd generation vampire, even more so than I, she would not allow me to kill one of her children. I need to keep a close eye on it and I trust that with your power you will be able to do just that as well as keep it in check.” He squeezed her shoulder, “Can I trust you to do that?” She smiled up at the man she aspired to be like, “Yes Papa, I will make sure of it.”
While experiencing the flashback, Pepp continued to talk through the phone, the phone losing connection from time to time making its voice choppy, “Sor-ry, I kinda forgot how much you di-nt like -im, I-” He was cut off by a beeping sound, another name had appeared on the screen of her phone and effectively snapped her out of her daze. ‘Baby♥️’, her body moved faster than her mind could keep up with. “I’ll call you back Pepp, thank you for calling, I'll get you a ‘treat’ when i see you.”, she didn't even know what ‘treat’ meant, it just tumbled out of her mouth. “Wa-it, I still didn't tell you ab-bout-about the ne-”, it didn't get the chance to finish as she already hung up the phone in his face. She sighed in frustration, the feeling of her body doing things she didn't want to was really starting to irk her, then again this wasn't really her body. But it felt like she owned it now, like the original possessor couldn't handle something important, so she was given this body it was truly hers now, and she had to master it, it was akin to taking intense college courses to pass an exam that had no right being so hard and confusing. She narrowed her eyes as her mind began to wander, her phone buzzed again and she turned her attention to it and the growing need to answer it with post haste. Steeling herself she once again put up the imaginary walls of defense in her mind and hesitantly answered the phone.
She put it to her ear and waited, when nothing but static was heard from the other side she rolled her eyes and said in an even and gentle voice. “Hello?”, almost immediately she was answered, “Where.Are.You.” it was said more as a demand than a question and she raised an eyebrow in disbelief at his tone. Hurt and worry tried to take over, but she held it down with all the willpower she could muster.

He sounded angry and she didn't know why, she thought of how to diffuse this situation. Slowly a statement drifted in her mind and she focused on it. ‘... now anger is a good and a bad thing. Anger can be used to release stress but it can also be destructive when not properly addressed. Instead of reinforcing your anger by surrounding yourself with things or people that make you angry you should distance yourself from them. But that's besides the point, you asked me what is the best way to deal with an angry person, right?’ she heard a muffled response, ‘Well, one of the best ways is to try to see things from the others perspective. Ask them why they are angry, let them explain themselves first and make sure not to accidentally interrupt them while they are speaking, as more often than not you'll find yourself in an argument that could have been avoided. You yourself must stay calm no matter what they say, because in the end if you are both angry the only thing waiting for you is mutual destruction.’ The voice continued talking but it started to slip away from her mind the more she tried to focus on it. She almost groaned in frustration but held it in, she was sure the information she gained was already more than helpful.
“HELLO?!” the boy on the other end bellowed into her phone. Her ears rang,“Yes, I am still here.”, she responded calmly, “I was preoccupied, you now have my full attention.”
An angry huff of air filled the other line, ”I asked where you were. You know I'm supposed to pick you up in front of your house, you're not even here after 10 minutes of waiting. Are you still giving me shit about the last time you came over? It's not my fault that you looked like that, what's wrong with my boys wanting a feel? You're practically presenting yourself to them. I don't know why you overreacted so much, it was a simple…” He continued on his rant, his voice tinged with disdain as he explained why she was overreacting. She wondered why someone blessed with such a deep, sexy, calming voice was so overbearing. Maybe that was just her wack emotions talking though.
Even while thinking this she nodded her head in understanding not caring that he couldn't see her. Staying mostly quiet, she walked towards her bathroom again and turned on her shower head and felt the temperature. She set her phone down and turned it on speaker and tuned back into his rant. “....didn't even want to be with you in the first place. I'm doin’ this all for my pack. We are like two different species anyway! We dont match, you're literally a walking corpse!”. Well she couldn't fault him for that logic, though he didn't have to be so mean about it. “While I'm living and breathing. No matter how many times I tell my Father he always says- I- what is that sound?” Jason seemed to have calmed down a bit after running his mouth non-stop, it truly was best to let someone talk it out rather than argue with them. “It is a shower, sweetheart.”, she responded, trying to alter the flirtatious tone into a motherly one, she did not want to reinforce these deranged emotions she was holding back.
“...You're not mad?”. He asked his voice low, waiting for the expected outburst. Malecia stepped into the shower and tried to recall the event he was talking about.
The original Malecia had invited herself to his ‘den’, as he liked to call it. She had showed up at almost the dead of night to ‘play’ in very revealing clothes that showed off her most enticing features. She knocked on the door expecting to be met with her lovely obsession but was instead met with overly hairy, sweaty men, that even with her already dead nose she could smell. The men had ‘mistakenly’ thought that she was a guest sent to have some fun with them. The first man who had touched her had their hand separated from the rest of their body. Then Jason had stormed out of one of the rooms in his den to ‘protect his pack-mates from the intruder’ and drove her away with a slap and an outburst of fury and resentment.
Malecia had some questions for both parties, but thought it best to just ignore this event entirely, it wasn't that important.
“I'm not mad dear, and please excuse me for being late to our scheduled meeting, you wouldn't believe the morning I had.” Malecia sighed happily at the feeling of warm water running over her scalp, barely feeling the stinging from her recent head injury as it had already started to heal.
“What are you plotting, Malecia?”The way he said her name was getting her all hot and bothered. She didn't grace Jason with a response, he didn't like her and most certainly wouldn't believe a word out of her mouth, no point in wasting breath, even if she didn't need to breathe.
“Don't think you will get away with whatever you have in mind, you may be strong but i'm stronger.” Now that almost got a laugh out of her. The original Malecia had never shown her true strength in front of Jason, wanting to seem gentle and weak in front of him, the little boy sadly had no idea what he was talking to.
“Yes, yes my dear.” She responded like a mother saying her child's dreams of becoming a super hero were true. “I should be going now, I would hate to keep you waiting any longer, yes?”
“...” He didn't say anything. The only thing she heard to indicate that he was still there was the sound of breathing.
“Farewell darling, I shall be seeing you shortly.” The sound of the phone beeping told her she had been hung up on.
‘What an arsehole.’

Malecia Morticia Von Serpens stood in front of the dresser mirror, inspecting herself for blemishes she might have missed. Even if her face was uncannily picture perfect she couldn't help herself. Malecia donned one of the only relatively simple dresses she had in her obnoxiously large walk in closet next to her sofa and bean bag. It was a silky black dress that started from her neck and ended just 2 inches above the ground. The cloth from her neck to her cleavage was see through and peppered with black embroidered branch patterns. Her upper arms were hugged tightly by the black material, accentuating the muscles she had. The sleeves ended in bat wings that started at the middle of her forearm and ended in the center of her palms. The dress strained over her bosom, slid over her waist and stretched over her thighs. Pitch black gloves she had found were slid onto her hands and hid their dead paleness from the sun. The shortest pair of heels she had were 3 inch American Duchess-esque Edwardian boots that were also pure black. She had put this outfit together in less than 5 seconds, she had already kept Jason waiting and whether it was the feelings she kept in a little bottle inside of her acting out or not, it would be rude to make him wait more.
Bending down a bit to pick up the hat she had set on the dresser he inspected it. The words ‘Fedora’ and ‘Black Moon Shade’ clashed against one another in her mind. She didn't know what ‘Fedora’ was referring to but ‘Black Moon Shade’ was the company who made this hat. She lifted it up to her face, the lace veil that was attached to it swayed gently from her movements. Like the rest of her outfit the hat and veil were black, and judging by the embroidered branch patterns on the veil her dress and the hat must have been a set. Or not. She didn't have a sense of fashion. She put the hat on her head allowing the veil to fall over her face, covering all of her head and only her neck, clavicle, and cleavage could be seen. She silently looked at herself in the mirror. A silent figure of a woman covered head to toe in black, with only the embroidered fabric of her dress and hat adding a small spark of style. Her eyes penetrated the dark covering over her face, her facial features were obscured just enough that any slight emotion on her face could not be seen.
She felt scary. Coupled with her height and eyes she could see children become frightened or uncomfortable in her presence, but all the other outfits seemed too much. It would have to do.
Malecia took her phone gently off of her dresser and put it inside of a hidden pocket that blended in seamlessly with her dress. Her eyes roamed around her room searching for things she may have missed, nothing came to mind. Malecia made her way towards the door with the ruined door knob, she would have to get that fixed. She put her hand around the knob gently. Taking a silent deep breath in and letting it out smoothly, releasing all the stress she could be harboring. She was Malecia Morticia Von Serpens. The volatile emotions stirred deep inside of her mind. She was as much of Malecia Morticia Von Serpens as she could be, and she would be Malecia Morticia Von Serpens for as long as she could be.
She closed her eyes and let her mind clear of all distractions, all useless worries.
She knew that she was fractured, two parts of her mind at war with one another, that would not do, not for Malecia Morticia Von Serpens who was anything but half-baked.
‘I will become whole in due time.’
