Wei Rongyu's dream was to succeed his father as the greatest general to the KIngdom of Wu. However, all his years of hard-work for training as a Knight went down the drain when the neighboring Kingdom of Han colluded with the Invaders from Mongol and brought hell upon his nation. Backstabbed by the previously allied Kingdom of Han, no spy was able reach the capital more than a few hours before the invaders. When the news finally reached the capital in the late afternoon, the panicked Lord called for a hurried meeting with his ministers and generals. Knowing that the situation was hopeless, and receiving any support from the Empire of the great Wei would take at least three days, the Court of Wu had the fastest adjournment of its history ever, which was recorded to just slightly be above 5 minutes.
The meeting came to the conclusion that the main goal would be to try to transport as many of their citizens as possible towards the Great Wei and try to hold back and chop down the numbers of invaders as much as possible. Led by the Feng Jian Wei Xian, the fastest known Mortal Swordsman, also know as the greatest Heavenly general of Wu, the different military regiments of the Kingdom of Wu started preparing for the bloody battle that was to come soon with their heart and soul in it, and why would they not, when the battle was to protect their families and children?
However, the betrayals for the Wu were yet to end. It was a bloody surprise when one of the three Heavenly generals of Wu suddenly turned his sword on the Lord Wu and gave him a fatal stab to his heart, and was about to attack the second Heavenly general beside him but was put down an instant later by Wei Xian. Unfortunately, brutally stabbed to the heart by his trusted aide, Lord Wu's flame of life withered due to extreme loss of blood. Though this seemed like the signal the comrades of the traitor were waiting for, because as soon as Lord Wu and the traitor general died, roughly a tenth of the soldiers turned against their comrades and started attacking them with the absolute intent to kill.

From there on, the situation just kept getting worse as the invaders arrived at the capital's gate in half the time expected, and transporting citizens was taking much longer and resulted in a higher number of casualties because of the infighting in the army. It was almost as if the situation was trying to be the definition of Murphy's law. The palace caught fire at night, the descendants of Lord Wu were assassinated, and the invaders seemed to have attacked from two directions, namely the west and the north. The situation of great peril seemed to only have one silver lining and that was the leadership and unbreakable loyalty of Wei Xian. He single handedly ended the havoc of half the traitors in the palace, saved the life of the second princess Wu Minglan, the only survivor of the royal family.
But that seemed to be the end of the good things, because then, the invaders' infantry suddenly retreated, creating what seemed to be a calm before the storm. And a storm it was, as thousands of arrows started falling on the capital of Wu like death from the sky. Already outnumbered, the military of the Wu weakened further as hundreds of Mongol archers relentlessly fired arrows. Knowing that the situation was truly hopeless, Wei Xian's only choice was to send the only remaining child of the Wu outside danger with his most trusted subordinate and keep fighting as long as possible for his people and his comrades.
And that was what he did.
