Chp 17: Help

“Go to the restroom, and fix yourself up.”

Nira moaned. Everything hurt. Parts of Nira’s body that she didn’t know existed hurt. Her mind hurt. It was all sharp. Like a blade going in and out of her flesh, through her bones. A sensation of hot embers burnt inside of her. Every movement. Every sound. Every breath she made felt like it might be her last.

Nira tried to get up, but despite all her effort, she only made it a small way up before teetering and smacking back against the ground, a feeble groan escaping her body.

“Oh for crying out loud, you broke after that. Fine! I’ll do it myself. After all, I am a gentleman.”

Sir Varus picked up her limp body and hoisted it onto his shoulders like a sack of taytos, her insides shifting to conform and the sharp pain becoming sharper. The blade sawing her flesh and bones, now serrated. She definitely had broken bones. Her mind wanted to scream, but her body couldn’t. Her breaths were too choppy, and any attempt at screaming would cost her precious air that her body was desperately clawing at to keep in. She just writhed in the pain and agony of her failing body.

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

He took her to the small restroom where he dropped her to the ground. With a... crunch.

“AHHHHHHHH!” Nira screamed. Every part of her body suddenly flashed with the fiercest pain of her life. Then as quickly as it came, everything turned off.

“Oh shit. Oh no. That was my fault. Are you alright?” Sir Varus asked with sudden concern in his tone.

But Nira couldn’t respond, her mind fading...

Where was she? How did she get here? Looking under her, there was an unconscious young woman lying on a bathroom floor, bloody and bruised all over, clothes torn from a beating. As she hovered over the body, a man scrambled around the room, desperately trying to fix her, but to little avail as the damage was too extensive. The girl wore the same clothes that all the partners wore when they went on duty. It was terrible to look at the aftermath of a bad client. Nira wondered if they had ever met before. If that poor girl survived, Nira would definitely try to cover for her chores until the girl got better. No girl deserved this.
