The sun rises, extending its golden rays to greet the lush forest below, Grifus awakened from slumber, his senses embraced by the warmth of the morning light filtering through the leaves.
Grifus arches its back, extending its forelimbs forward, reaching its powerful hind legs behind, creating a seamless stretch, its lithe body twists slightly, after this, Grifus stands up, starting to walk in a straight line.
"That was a good sleep, now time to re-arrange things in my head and then how to actually transform then leave to see the outside world and find food, thats the main reason, still this place feels huge but lonely and Im only in here for a day, what if I get stuck for longer?, still beautiful place, gotta compliment my place as a priority, calling this place, 'place' doesnt sound right so I need a name, actually no, I want a name, hmm name, place of birth, not really birth, so place where I came from, where I spawn! Yes, thats right I almost forgot minecraft, Im gonna call this place, actually,"
*stops*
*coughs*
"I thus nameth thee, Spawn Point. Yes I know, genius name, Thank you, Thank you, anywaaay, gotta stop fooling around,"
In one fluid motion, Grifus turns, still on its straight path.
"So first, I know that the *magic* is gathering in my spine, probably to help me. No to help creatures here to live i guess, or maybe just something they evolved with, I just hope people arent deformed here or something, having magic as a key element for their evolution might have changed their appearance and Im gonna end up classified as a monster, just hope not, just hope not, anyway, maybe if I look there more, I might find something that could help, but it still doesnt make sense, how the hell am I supposed to transform, there should be some tricks here... "
Grifus, once again pivots, maintaining its straight course.
"A code or something should do the trick just like video games, maybe, there's a, record there, to tell, my cells, what to do?, Im not sure but it's the only scientific thing that makes sense, hmm, I mean if its magic then it shoudnt really need science to decide it, right?, but, I think it also has rules, like its three states, what are those again?, first is state of being controlled, second is the state of being converted and lastly the state of existing, the last one probably isnt needed but if it has that state, then it means it could also be non-existent,"
In front is the shade-offering tree, because of this Grifus turns, still on its straight path.
"Just like earth, anyway, that's not part of how i could transform, so, if it is like a record or instruction of how to transform my DNA and RNA, it might make sense, okay, now that I have that theory, if it's right or actually, close to what is happening maybe I could just find a way to activate that code?, Im really not sure, still better than not having a plan, plus, I doubt doing all of this isny draining some of my stamina or something its just like walking, speaking of, can a cat really walk this long?, probably, I mean, Im doing it right now, ohh, the tree, time to go and meditate."
The sun half way through its highest point of the day.
Grifus walks to the tree providing yet again shade, lowers its body, tucking its legs underneath, resting its head upon its paws, settling into a comfortable repose.
Once again, re-creating the sensations of last time, Grifus discerns an unyielding continuity. Undeterred, he delves deeper into the spine, directing his focus towards individual cells. Here, subtle variations emerge, each imbued with a distinct purpose, orchestrated by a meager yet purposeful infusion of magic.
Grifus then ascends to the cerebral realm, witnessing the familiar sight of cells, each pulsating with magic, each entrusted with a unique mission, animated by the delicate essence of magic that augments their swiftness.
Persistant, it began examining the swirl of magic more closely, what reveals is akin to liquid in microgravity, forming spherical blobs. Unsatisfied, Grifus narrows his gaze even further, witnessing the smallest unit – the atom. Here, magic manifests in tiny spheres connected by string of lines, yet this time it is vastly different, each adorned with two symbols, consiting of three points, the other having five, as if a language used by each orb to communicate, but the five dotted symbol is dormant.
Undeterred, Grifus endeavors to awaken the dormant symbol, a challenging task met with initial failure, refusing to concede, he perseveres, attempting to find the source. The connection leading to the direction of the brain, with extensive amount of time, as well as concentration just to navigate through.
At last, Grifus arrives at the nexus of the seemingly endless connection, where the two symbols end. It kindles the dormant symbol, successful, as if a surge of command courses through the magical network, instructing them to.
With a widened perception, Grifus beholds the spectacle unfolding before him – a mesmerizing symphony of awakening, slumber. The once dormant stir to life, while the previously awakened ones gracefully surrender to rest, this, is the delicate balance of magic.
The creature's appearance starts to change, fur gave way to feathers, creating a striking canvas of blue-gray on its upper body, contrasted by barred underparts.
The the head, transforming the head into dark with thick sideburns, the ears shrinking, the nose, the mouth both developing into a beak.
The front legs stretched, morphing into long, tapered wings, their straight trailing edges promising graceful flight.
Meanwhile, the hind legs transformed into robust, sharp yellow talons, a formidable testament to the creature's evolving prowess, the tail shortening, being replaced by a relatively short bird tail.
Internally, the bones embrace a delicate hollowness, the structure, adapting to stand upright, the organs, the lungs, elongated, modest in size, the heart positioned near the center of the chest, the crop, proventriculus, gizzard, liver, intestines, located in the abdominal region.
Shadows, once short, directly beneath objects, now stretch a bit longer.
"Yes! Yeeeess! I did it!, I finally did it!, ahhahahhaha, finally, I could fly, there were some problems, but I did it!, finally! Finally, I did it!, finally, hahahahhah, yess, whoo, finally, okay, Im calm again, whooo, okay, okay, so, should I leave this place now or, I mean, in the first place, even if i leave now where would I go?, or what direction, so, hmm, okay, Im just gonna go, NOT where the sun is setting and rising, so, north or south, hmmm, so I know that wherever the sun rises is the east," Grifus looks to his left, right, then turns back.
"So, south it is."
Grifus preparing for the burst of energy to come, unfurls its wings, in an instant, the falcon pushes off, talons momentarily gripping the solid foundation.
"Yeahhhhh, whoooo."
Grifus flew away, only looking back, leaving, Grifus soared into the unknown future.
"Goodbye Spawn Point."
The ocean, an expansive canvas of azure hues, stretched. The salty breeze carried the symphony of crashing waves, Sunlight cascaded in shimmering ribbons.
Grifus soars above the expansive ocean, its keen eyes capturing a panoramic view from the sky. Its vision, exceptional among birds of prey, allows it to perceive a wide spectrum of colors, detecting minute details. The vast expanse of the ocean unfolds below, revealing intricate patterns in the water's surface.
"The ocean, really, isnt that interisting, huh. I mean it is relaxing and beautiful when the sun is rising and setting, and the fact that my new vision gives acces to seeing in UV and it is still boring, Im just not gonna think about, anyhow, hmm, the fact that Im a falcon and with the help of my extensive research out of obsession from highschool, Im pretty sure I know what kind of falcon I am, well, considering that, this is gonna be fun."
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
Birds, a flock of white birds flew on the far left of Grifus.
"Ohh, now that is something, maybe I should go there and say HI."
Ascending, Grifus flaps its wings propelling toward the distant flock. However, before proximity is even reached, the initial flock scatters.
Undeterred, Grifus pivots his focus to the right, where a new spectacle unfolds—a flock of five, their azure plumage mirroring the ocean's serene hues. With intensified wingbeats, Grifus ascends to a greater altitude, positioning itself for a stoop.
With focused intensity, it tucks its wings close to its body, beginning a rapid descent, hurtling earthward like a feathered missile. As it stoops with breathtaking speed, its streamlined form slicing through the air.
The wind rushes past, a symphony of speed accompanying the descent. At the critical moment, Grifus stops, only meters away from the flock.
Adjusting its wing position, angle, using its strong flight muscles to slow down its descent. It spreads its wings, tail, creating more drag, while simultaneously adjusting the angle of its body to reduce the speed of the dive, regaining control of its flight.
The flock with no time to react disperses, rather quickly.
"Whoo, I really am a peregrine falcon, holy, thats, thats, thats just, holy, hahahahha, I thought, I was a different falcon, but holy, hahahh, this is, this is just awesome, I cant believe it, I really am living my dream, hahahah, wow,"
Grifus once again flaps its wings to gain altitude.
"Wow, woo, okay, now that Im calm again, I can analyze what happend, so what happend was, I stoop down! Reaching speeds over 240 mph!, yeah, hell yeah! Okay, calm down, inhale; exhale; inhale; exhale, okay Im calm, hahahahh, holy shit, hahahah, okay, okay, time to get serious, okay, so, I was awesome there, but the similar thing those birds exhibit is that, I feel like they both, can see when Im coming and its not like me flying produces alot of noice, so, either they have the same senses of as a cat and now, which most likely they do, and the only reason i got close was beacuse Im so quick, which, I was, but even if they do have that, its not like just seeing would be enough to determine when I was going to attack cause those blue birds reacted too quicly and slowly at the same time, specially when were talking about birds that can see a predator from an island away on all direction, so, the only conclusion I cam draw is that, every bird doesnt have the same sensing distance, but I feel like, something is missing, hmmm, nothing I need to worry about, as long as I have my speed its all fine."
"Hmm, speaking of speed, I think I can make myself even faster, I mean *magic* does exist so, hmmm, I would reduce the drag or friction by going higher, maybe by manipulating magic and matter to boost myself, but if I did, Im gonna have trouble maintaining stable flight, so, maybe I could just myself like a jet, but, I could also catch on fire for being too fast, hmmm, so, to make myself faster to go higher, boost myself with magic, BUT, and the biggest one at that, I cant hold my breath, if oxygen is gone or reduced to extreme levels, I could loss my consciousness and fall to death, hmm, I meeaan, if I dont stay high for too long Im okay, and considering I've been flying for a while now and still see or sense no islands, probably means that thing wants me to die alone, so, it would be benificial for me to go faster, so, now, how would I do it, so first, I need to gain altitude, pretty easy, second, I need a boost, but how?, how would I manipulate magic and matter, plus how would I withstand the force of going faster?, hmmm, maybe I could just do the same thing I did to transform and to withstand the drag, maybe I could make somekind of shield using magic?, that should work to protect me, right? Yeah, it will, it will, so the boost, hmmm, maybe I could compress the air using the shield, hmmm, compress, hmmm, a compressor should the work, finally, school is useful, took you long enough, anyway, Im just gonna make an efficient and high speed since thats what Im going for, also I guess I should go for stooping form when boosting, so that the drag isnt a lot then just open them back up when Im about to fall, now the size, hmm, I guess 10 inches will do, hehe, and lastly thanks, Newton the guys law,"
*cough*
"For every reaction there is an equal and opposite reaction,"
"That should do it for the plans but, the only problem with doing all of that is, if I did I could go downward and sploosh in the water, hmm, I meeeean, IF I go down, Im just going to open my wings and bwala, problem solved, next, the problem is I dont have the luxury to focus too much, because if I did, Im afraid I might go sploosh, BUT, if Im just going to do the same thing I just did to transform, I could just treat it as if I did it for thousands of time to the point of mastering and memoryzing everything I have to do, which is easy considering how, I have perfect memory and I only need my mind to manipulate magic, well I'll never know until I try, I guess, so first Im gonna try making a shield and then Im gonna try pushing myself by air."
Grifus, endowed with a perfect memory, directed its senses towards the magic before it. The magical essence manifested as spheres of atomic precision, Unlike previous encounters, there was a stark absence – no connections, no bonds, Grifus discerned a revelation, the essence of magic lay in connectivity. In a seamless blend of perception, intuition, it understood that the potency of magic could be harnessed through interconnection. Thus, with a profound realization, Grifus weave the threads of magic, binding one sphere to another.
As Grifus initiated the connection, a mesmerizing display unfolded, every sphere, once isolated, now became linked in a sublime of magical bonds, the energy flowed, creating an intricate web where each connection fortified the whole. The spheres, pulsating with newfound vigor, resonated as a unified force, Grifus marveled at the synergy of energy with connection, recognizing that strength burgeoned with each bond forged. The more energy it infused, the larger the web of connection grew. Every sphere intricately linked to its counterparts, forming an unbreakable lattice.
In this revelation, Grifus discovered the essence of magical sturdiness – the more bonds, the more energy bestowed, the more resilient the magic became, a symphony of interconnected forces, a testament to Grifus's newfound understanding of the very nature of magic.
With a deliberate focus, a quarter of its energy harnessed, Grifus manifested a protective shield enveloping its entire form, empowered by this barrier, Grifus then directed its attention to the intricate manipulation near its tail. By the manipulation culminated in the creation of a remarkable construct – a Annular Axial Compressor, the annular casing took form, a circular embrace housing the imminent components, attached to a central rotating shaft, the rotor blades emerged, forming a celestial ring poised to rotate within the confines of the annular casing, each blade held the promise of dynamic movement, a manifestation of the unseen forces at Grifus's command.
The rotation, once set in motion, carried with it a profound purpose – the compression of incoming air, the rotor blades, accelerated the ambient air, shaping it into a potent force, the stationary stator blades, strategically positioned between their dynamic counterparts, emerged as steadfast guides, their role to skillfully channel, guide the accelerated airflow, to augment its pressure with each passing moment.
With the Annular Axial Compressor constructed, Grifus gaining altitude with each powerful flap, unfurled its wings, then assumed the poised position of a stoop, ready to unleash the culmination of its magical creation, Grifus closed its eyes, needing to sacrifice the conventional sight to concentrate its attention on the protective shield encasing its entire form.
In an instant, Grifus initiated the operational sequence, bringing the Annular Axial Compressor to life with a thought. The rotor blades, poised within the annular casing, commenced their dynamic, controlled rotational movement, reaching an astounding speed of 10,000 RPM, as the compressor is brought to life the air inlet strategically positioned for optimal intake became a focal point, the dynamic movement of the rotor blades created a whirlwind effect, a symphony of precision channeling, directing the surrounding air, with each rotation marked a calculated step, shaping the ambient air into a denser, pressurized state, the stator blades, strategically positioned, responsible of the accelerated airflow, their stationary grace guided, controlled, ensuring the smooth progression of the compressed air through subsequent stages.
Grifus has initiated the Annular Axial Compressor for a few times, only consuming little amount of magic with the preperations complete, yet it still drained the soul.
The sun is noticeably lower in the sky as it continues its descent towards the horizon, the sunlight now takes on a softer, warmer hue, creating a late-afternoon ambiance.
An island with a transformed mountain that resembled a majestic castle. The mountain serving as both a protective wall, as well as a towering centerpiece.
The island revealed a meticulously crafted layout. Inner rings of islands encircled the castle, forming a protective embrace. A noticeable opening in the western inner rings resembled a gate, an entrance through the fortifications. Beyond this gateway, outer islands sprawled in carefully, with two elongated ones flanking the sides near the west.
Beneath, a sense of urgency gripped the populace. Authorities, knights, soldiers, arcane users alike moved with purpose, preparing for an unknown threat. The architects feverishly adjusted their contraptions, fortifications standing tall against the impending uncertainty.
Grifus, now just a kilometer away, perceived the rising panic, deciding to descend, alighting on the eastern inner island.
Upon descending from the skies, in a graceful display, the majestic bird seamlessly morphed, as it shed its avian form, each feather transforming into a cascade of tawny fur, the once expansive wings, folded into a lithe, supple feline frame.
As the metamorphosis unfolded, the signature black-tipped tail, a distinctive mark of the elusive creature, reemerged, simultaneously, subtle ear tufts, with dark patches, materialized on the cat's head, alongside them, sideburn-like ruffs of hair adorned the feline's regal visage, transforming within a fluid motion.
With feline agility, Grifus navigated the terrain with silent precision, making a beeline for the refuge of the looming trees.
"Why? Why are there a commotion? Did something happen? Plus, why do I feel like they're waiting for me? Actually, how? How did they know? In the first place, this can't be a coincidence, there is no way this is a coincidence, I saw them prepare kilometers away, KILOMETERS, this can't be a coincidence, I know this isnt a coincidence, so, how? How did they saw me? Even if they have binoculars, they would have trouble seeing me, let alone spotting me, I was travelling at high altitude as well as speed, so, how? Wait. Maybe magic can be sense?, that would makes sense, if magic can be sense, then it would make sense for the birds as well, maybe they have a magic dectecting device or something, if not, then they would have seen me on the way here, wait, if they cen sense magic, how can I hide it?, wait maybe I can do the same thing I did to transform, wait that might work I can just run while trying to hide, instead of trying to see internally, I only need to see the magic, okay, calm down, calm down, calm down. Inhale; Exhal-"
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the land.
"Oy, vis yunsdi serato wa konsu!"
A man clad in armor shouts
"Kant latsu vrie, ij tas kier!"
The cloak hiding mage shouts back
"Ij'w konsuy, kiertu"
An old man holding a scepter points, while aiming directly at Grifus, a circle simultaneously appeard, forming symbols, in a clockwise formation, the symbols similar, yet different to the ones Grifus had seen before.
Grifus surged forward with an urgency matched only by the limits of its own physical state, racing against time as the symbol's completion hung in the balance. With a profound understanding of manipulating the magic in its surrounding, rendering the concealing the overwhelming magical aura a seemingly effortless task, however, the application of this proved to be a deliberate, unhurried endeavor as Grifus needed every ounce of focus towards weaving through the forest.
As Grifus pressed on, the once-potent magic enveloping it began a gradual retreat, like a waning tide. Simultaneously, the pursuers found themselves entangled in the dimness of the forest, their path obscured by the diminishing magical aura. Amidst the encroaching obscurity, Grifus, with an inherent advantage in the cloak of darkness, seized the moment to regain composure, with a serene resolve, Grifus calmed its racing heartbeat, preparing for the decisive moment to finally diminish the last essence of magic.
With the last delicate manipulation complete, Grifus cast a glance backward while maintaining its swift momentum, hoping to find solace in the absence of pursuers. Relief washed over as the dim forest revealed no signs of the relentless chasers – a momentary respite. The momentary respite, shattered, as Grifus glanced backward in motion, the forest's treacherous secret unveiled itself; falling into the unforgiving precipice of a cliff.
Silently plummeting through the air, Grifus executed a seamless transformation, only to be guided towards a concealed cave entrance.
As Grifus settled within the concealed cavern, it cast a gaze towards the enchanting night sky, in this tranquil moment, Grifus found solace in the beauty that adorned the night, a soothing prelude to a well-deserved night's rest.
As the country's apprehensive gaze scoured the vicinity, there was no trace of the alleged divine creature.
