Announcement: Book 1 Released

Smashwords Amazon

You can buy YAOS 1 at the links above right now. If you bought YAOS before the 30th of December 2018, please do update your version of it, there's been fixes you'll want.

Thanks for supporting this hobby of mine!

Apology of sorts.)

First off, yes I know, stubbing most chapters back in summer 2017 was not my best moment. A friend of mine recommended it, us both believing I'd make it in time for Christmas, actually Autumn 2017. Summer 2017 was also the last break of any significant length I've had since then, today included. While I love writing, editing, debugging and polishing while you're perma-sleep deprived isn't fun.

After 28 months, I now offer you YAOS 1 - Limitless Adventures! The book grew, from 57k words to 105k, plenty chapters got rewrites, 2 are completely new, featuring the POV of Jess and King Mitara respectively. There's also over 69 fully colored html tables, your blue boxes along with frontloaded speakertags and an exhaustive appendix among other things. like the terrible cover.

What's missing.)

I still want a map, a better cover and one additional sidechapter, yet time continues to be at a premium. Believe me, I'd much rather taken a few days off than to release this now.

While I proofread YAOS 1 to the best of my ability, I fully expect there be some finicky mistakes left and I wholeheartedly appreciate any and all reports helping me purge even the last few mistakes. Just mention an error class and I'll get those dealt with, too.

On that note, never, ever do your own proofreading, no matter how good you believe yourself to be, something always slips through.

Acknowledgments.)

Now I want to thank one guy, nobody103 of Mother of Learning fame. Thanks to him you now have the option of buying YAOS 1 after all. I'd probably have dragged my feet a bit longer had it not been for a bit of last minute encouragement to get this done. I lost my weekend but this is finally done.

He's also helped quite a bit during the past few months, offering choice questions which helped me address issues and add details you likely wanted to know more about.

Of course, all of you who've commented, engaged in private messaging, from Zemophobia to Neruz to Futhark the Elder and Maiko830 and plenty of other guys, kind and not so kind and everything in between, I thank you for your feedback and encouragement, YAOS has improved tremendously because of you. Also, typos here are in no way indicative of anything but my lack of time and sleep, if I mangled your nick, it was unintentional and no disrespect intended, sorry in advance.

Book 2.)

In any case, I do hope this release will satisfy you guys. I know some of you have waited and probably given up on this ever happening. And yes, I'll remain extremely busy for the next few months, so I cannot promise I'll be able to release book 2, that is at 150k words and an epic story, in time for Easter 2019.

Beta Readers for Book 2.)

While I will try, I lack beta readers offering feedback, most of my friends are just as busy as myself these days, the curse of being born earlier, responsibilities like to creep up on you and never let go. So, if you feel you can offer feedback, voice your likes and dislikes, have enjoyed YAOS 1 and want to know how it all continues, please drop me a message so we can work something out.

One issue I have with book 2, since December 2016, is the not quite good beginning of it. I've rewritten that a few times, but I still don't quite like it. While the latter half of book 2 is pretty much rock solid and well worth the wait, I expect I'll lose quite a few of you if I don't nail down just what is wrong with the beginning. That is also why publication stopped.

Book 3.)

There's no such trouble with book 3, the first 50k words of it are a hell of a ride, Pure bliss to read, save for one short segment I want to improve but lack the time to do better. I also can't write the handful of chapters I have planned out so far, 102~107 or so. After that I'll have to seriously do some planning to wrap the main trilogy threads up and prepare for the spin-off YAOPS and a possible continuation of YAOS.

But I also want to finally write the other stories I've outlined, without tables or elaborate systems, just good old fun.

Anyhow. if book 1 sells enough, I may be able to put some quality time into completing book 3 during 2019, otherwise I can't quite give any timetable at this point, I know I'm spread thin and I really need a break, burning a candle at two ends doesn't quite describe it right, it's more like throwing your candle into an incinerator.

Book 2's end won't leave you at a cliffhanger either, and its scope will keep you busy for some time for certain, so I'm not quite as rushed to do a bad job on book 3.

Well enough of that, I wish all of you a Merry Christmas!
