Chapter 1- Velocity
It was cold. Why was it so cold? Five more minutes! Please!
I heard a deep rumble somewhere above me. And then I felt it. Warmth! Heavenly Warmth! I liked this warmth. I tried to reach up and figure out what was so warm and comfortable. I wasn't so successful in my venture until I hit something I believe was to my left. The thing rumbled, presumably at me rudely whacking it.
I realized my eyes were still closed, so I tried opening my eyelids. Man, were they heavy. Must've been some nap. I finally succeeded, but everything was a blur of bright color. Oh right, glasses. I reached above me to see where my glasses went.
I didn't find them. Instead I punched another, softer, thing. I cried out in suprise. This wasn't my bed! What was this? Where am I? Who am I?
And then I remembered.
Stupid Physics.
----
It was like any other winter day, with me happily kicking snow everywhere. The trees looked like crystal sculptures, and the ground was so slick you could play ice hockey. I had loved the winter. It bites, and I tended to bite back.
Unless I had my nose stuck in a book. If I had my nose in a book, I ignored everything. That book I was reading was my world in that moment, and I was just an observer. I liked that.
Observing.
Observing told me all I needed to figure out this weird world that I called home. I didn't really care about the big wide world, but what I did care about was the world around me. At that moment I saw a toddler chasing after a bright red ball into the middle of the street.
The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.
And I also saw that truck that spun out of control heading straight for that kid. Fright took hold of my very being and I did what any other average human being would do.
I kicked the ball at my feet hard into the kid's face, making so that the kid feel onto his butt and under the cabin of the truck without any harm. Unfortunately for me, I blinded myself with a cloud of fluffy white snow from kicking the ball so I couldn't see anything.
I heard and felt the hit. Cracks, snaps, and a soft thudding. I was run-over by the out of control truck.
The last thing I remember was the shimmering white and red.

"That's odd, She wasn't supposed to die yet."
"Well, the machine had to take a life. It was her life for the brat's."
"I suppose that was the balance of things. What should we do with her? We can't accept her until her soul is ripe!"
"You sound creepy when you put it that way."
"Ugh, back to the point, please."
"Well, she's pretty..."
"Necrophiliac!"
"Hey you two, stop dawlding and get back to work!"
"Let's just send her off, then. Nobody has to know."
----
Ning Yue lay there exausted, completely satisfied as she looked into her daughter's curious silver eyes.
"She looks just like pure jade, wife. We did good." Ning Yue's husband, Hong Wei remarked.
"More like my lover did" Ning Yue giggled. Hong Wei mocked being offended.
"...What should we name her, Wife?"
"Li. Hong Li."

WHEW. Hello! I'm Ivy, and this is my first novel. I'm not sure whether I'll finish this, or even where this is going, but I'm glad to be here.
Please note that I'm not that familiar with Chinese culture, so please give me tips along the way.
Until next time!
