My eyes slowly awoke after dozing off in the subway for a few dozen minutes. I reached for my phone in my pocket.
Ding!
It was currently 9:45am; I was commuting on the subway to work. My name is Aksel Liebert, 25 years old, and I worked at a photography company. The subway was the one thing I looked forward to before and after work. It gave me time to get away and allowed me to have some peace as I sat down and relaxed. Unfortunately, even though it was one of my favourite times, I peered in front of me and saw a meek child, clutching his handheld console, generating a loud racket as his console continuously produced a loud victory anthem. I slowly ached for the subway to come to a close soon.

'Now approaching Pilbeth Underground Station, please get ready as we will be stopping shortly. Thank you.'
Finally. I picked myself up and grabbed a pole, getting ready to depart. As the doors opened, I still could hear the annoying victory anthem continuing to ring in my ears.
'Doors opening.'
I departed from the subway and strode through the station. It was a common routine and I've been doing for about 3 years, it's essentially reflex reactions. I went past the usual, the begging homeless man outside the station, the business woman making her regular call and the performer doing his daily act. Little did I know that this would all change today, and the world I knew would disappear.
