Chapter 3

The sun came and soon it was night, the stars started to appear one by one. Roars could be heard in the distance, day and night is no break for these animals. To eat you must hunt!

In a cave one would see a body that was full of dark flesh, it was emitting a foul smell and it was enough to make it a target for those animals who relied on smell to hunt.

That body of dark flesh was Marcus, the eyes opened and he started to scream. The voice was hard to understand it was more like metal clashing each other.

"It hurts!"

Marcus clutched his stomach, the moment he touches the dark flesh for the first time it was cold. But he didn't pay any attention because that familiar feeling came!

"I need to eat."

Marcus said to himself before standing up, he stared at the entrance of the cave and saw the millions of stars that were shining brightly. A thought appeared on his mind.

"Can I eat the stars?"

Marcus stared at the stars before shaking his head, the stars were so far away and it was large. The hunger was running and it was getting more painful.

Marcus's face started to change and he walked out of the cave, his body hitting the grass that reaches his waist.

He tried to be silent as possible, he unconsciously thinks of himself as a predator looking for prey.

The change in mentality was not comprehended by the consciousness, in the face of hunger that was beyond his endurance. Marcus's eyes slowly turned cold when he heard the grass far away from him moving.

Marcus slowly approaches, if he was a human he would be filled with sweat due to the painful hunger, but since becoming a zombie there was no sweat.

Soon Marcus uses his hands to separate the grass blocking his view, in the front he saw a bobcat.

One of the dangerous animals that Marcus saw tonight, this bobcat's length was 80cm bigger compared to the average bobcat that was 69cm.

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

The bobcat had already noticed him and its eyes turned cold as the hair on its body started to stand.

Marcus's eyes were also cold, the hunger was getting unbearable but he was still in control. This bobcat is giving him a dangerous feeling, the sharp claws will undoubtedly hurt him and the fangs would leave a hole in his body.

The bobcat started to hiss, the paws knocked the ground causing to produce a loud thud, Marcus wasn't intimidated by the bobcat's action.

Speed will determine the winner, Marcus knew his patience was running out. The bobcat had the advantage on speed, its body bent and the pupils in the eyes were a circle.

Marcus was surprisingly calm, even in this dangerous situation the only thing that he was thinking was to eat!

[ 15 points of biological energy ]

The voice of the system was clear in Marcus's mind, but now all attention was on the bobcat.

Marcus didn't blink because this bobcat is fast, time passed and the two creatures were staring at each other.

If one showed a weak stance then he would be in another stomach, the life in the forest was cruel. Either I killed you to live or you killed me so you can live.

Bang!

The bobcat leaped towards Marcus, it said that the bobcat can jump to 10 feet. The distance between Marcus and the bobcat was nowhere 10 feet, the power reserve from the said distance could only be imagined as scary!

Marcus didn't watch as the bobcat was about to reach him, he moved two steps backward while raising his hand to block the bobcat.

Even if you are big, I am bigger!

Bang!

The sharp pain was transmitted to the brain, the bobcat's claws have penetrated the dark flesh, and black blood drops to the ground. Marcus immediately started to move faster, his other hands grab the neck of the bobcat raising it in mid-air, putting the stomach near his mouth, open your mouth and bite it!

The bobcat started to make a loud noise, it was filled with pain. It didn't know what creature it was facing, the dark flesh was hard but its sharp claws already penetrated it.

The chewing sound soon rang, a cold wind passes by showing the remains of the fighting between the two creatures.

The body of the bobcat was gone, and Marcus slowly stands up, his mouth was filled with blood. The flesh which was penetrated by the bobcat was healing visible to the naked eye.

Marcus's eyes were bright as he thought to himself, "2 more biological energy!"

However Marcus's bright eyes started to look around, the wind seemed to be colder.

The blood of the bobcat which covered the ground began to ride in the wind, other creatures smelled it.

The howls of creatures echoed and the sound of grass rustling were heard by Marcus.

"Run!"

Marcus ran towards the cave, he didn't know what are the creatures were running towards him, but he knew that he can't fight them!

After Marcus ran, the grass stopped moving to reveal a group of wolves. The one leading the wolves was a big black wolf.

The eyes were cold as its nose moved up and down, trying to smell to gain more information.

It moved its hind legs and arrived at the ground that was filled with bobcat's blood.

The black wolf stared at it for a few seconds before looking towards the direction where Marcus ran.

It started to howl and the wolf's behind it also howl. The sound of howls scared some creatures as they ran, the black wolf ran towards the direction of the cave followed by the wolves behind it.

Marcus didn't know that a group of wolves was pursuing him, at this moment he was lying in the cave.

"I need 2 points of biological energy, then I can upgrade."

Marcus was silent for a few seconds before his face turned pale, but from an outside point of view, the face that was filled with dark flesh wasn't pale.

It is just a normal reaction because Marcus heard the sound of creatures moving towards him, it was not one or two but a group!

Marcus was silent as he stared into the entrance, after a few seconds that creature revealed itself.

It was a big black wolf, the eyes were cold as it stared at him. Marcus didn't back down as he stared and glared at the black wolf.

This black wolf brought four wolves adding itself numbered five wolves. The sense of crisis started to ring loudly in Marcus's heart.
