Chapter 1: Details

“Your title will be Demi-God as you aren’t a God yet. You will feel a lot different than what you are certainly. The guide I mentioned will be here shortly as for me I’ll be leaving. The guide will tell you what you can do with your title and help you, treat it well.” He moves his arm around and produces a small vial, “within this vial is a cell that will jumpstart your progress later by leaps and bounds.” Passing it to me, I hold it as I had no clothes. “There are a lot of tiers to being a god and this job you are on will decide what you will be. You can be dismissed if you do poorly enough, so keep that in mind. Besides that, though there are three tiers, my tier, God, Transcendent God, then Elder God. Your title is given by me and so is your power, as when you signed that contract I gave you a percentage of my power which will give you power, but not enough to evolve into a God. You are limited until you finish this job. “Now then all the explanations are done.”

I signed my name, the paper went into a ball of flame. I stumbled around a bit, it felt like a sledgehammer slammed into my chest. After a couple of seconds of catching my breath, I ask in extreme pain, "what was that?" "That is the power I gave you, 1%, your new body is only able to contain so much, even just this is the upper limit." He moves his hand and I feel the pain I felt disappeared, I stand on the ground as I was too tense to try to stand up. "Now that all of this is over you have a solar system to get in order, your time starts now!" A second after he said that he smiles and vanishes with a flash of light. In the spot that he teleported something replaced him, it was a tiny holographic-like humanoid, completely green. No hair or eyes or even genitals, just a body, moving towards my face. It is only a few feet away sounds out with a robotic tone. “Hello, Demi-God James, I am the assigned guide for you. Currently, I’m unnamed if you would please give me a name we will start with your process after. It flashes and it opens into a keyboard with the question above, ‘Demi-God James, what will you be calling me?’

Thinking it over I didn’t know what to call it. Should I just leave it unnamed? It didn’t seem right to me as it will always be with me. After some time floating around in space, I decided to keep the name gender-neutral to match. A name that would have meaning to me, but something plain. I decided on one of my past teachers’ names, Jayden. Even if he was my least favorite teacher his name matched all my requirements. The meaning of the name, “Thankful to God, or God has heard,” seemed rather fitting, as God had heard me in my pain when I was lying on my hospital bed dying. This guide came to me and changed into a keyboard. With a few taps on the keyboard, the guide was named Jayden.

“Thank you for the name sir, now moving on what do you want me to begin with?” Once again a screen is sent out in front of me with a couple of different options, ‘Powers/Restrictions with your title’ and ‘How to start using your powers’. Moving my finger over what is given with my title the screen enlarges and circles me. “Do you want me to go over everything with you or I can give you the simplified version?” “Yes I would like the simplified version, something game-like, also don’t simplify the rules or regulations. If you can make a separate tab for them that’d be great. One of my favorite activities was gaming so keeping it similar would help to make things easy to understand.

In a split second, it was separated and the first thing I see is a tag named power level, with several 1 million next to it. Running down the list, I saw a lot of random names like mental or physical power, followed by a power level of 1 million. There was another tab, under the stats, entitled skills. Clicking on it, a list of three things was shown, ‘Creation magic’, ‘Manager of Unnamed Solar system’, and ‘Shop’. All were easy to understand and with max next to it. “Are these all the skills I have? There are so few.” “Well, your previous skills weren’t carried over as you have a new body. If you perform a skill that you already know you can unlock it.” “Can you give me an example?” “Of course, for say, if you want to learn swordsmanship you must buy it with your skill shop, but if it’s you don’t want to buy the skill, you can also learn it by practicing the skill. Once you learn the skill you can progress but cannot reach the max level without buying it later.”

“This is a restriction set because you are a Demi-God and not a full God,” Jayden says as I look through all the random stats I have. That’s depressing, I have been just gifted all this power and now they say that I have to buy stuff to progress, sounds like a paid-to-win game. Jokes aside, I open up the shop another screen appears, there was a clear difference from Jayden as it was orange. From what I could see there were only skills. “What’s the currency?” I noticed that they all had a $ sign as a price, but I knew it wouldn’t be simple. “The price is achievement points, you gain them by completing quests.”

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

“When you are done let us move on to something else, I recommend we look over the regulations,” a green tab opens up with a bulleted list.

You cannot resign from your post as a Demi-God until your job term is finished.

----------------------------------------

The Rules: To level skill to max level, you must buy it from the shop. If you destroy the solar system, you will get disqualified from the title. You cannot make direct contact with sentimental beings from the solar system. This will result in achievement points being deducted (changing amount depending on severity)

Quests will be given, if not completed a punishment will be handed out.

----------------------------------------

A lot less than I expected. “I will be handing you the quest. Now to give you an example of a quest. I recommend you start with something small, though," Jayden says.

----------------------------------------

Title: Read through the ‘How to start using your powers’ and forage one of the solar system's astronomical bodies.

Details:

You must read through ‘How to start using your powers’.

Mold your first astronomical body.

Rewards: (Depending on the results) $1-100 and a skill (low-med).

----------------------------------------

Jayden disappeared and a white screen opened, ‘How to start using your powers’. Reading through it twice, it just explained how creation magic worked and that there is a clock-like system where I can speed it up or stop it entirely. It was currently on stop and if I didn’t have that one at the start everything would fall apart right away. Besides creation magic was simple if my solar system has that item then I can multiply it and implant it in places. For say I could duplicate a pick of bread as many times as I want.

Looking over a map of the solar system there were 5 large planets and 2 moon-like natural satellites, all of which were stabs of rocks beside the 3rd one that looked a bit more detailed. A star in the center which all of them circle at different speeds. Out of the large planets, the 3rd one was different, “that must be the planet capable of having living beings." Around the living planet, a moon circled. This was considerably less than my solar system which had 8 planets, 205 natural satellites, and the sun of course. I knew these useless facts

After looking around all the planets I decided to start on that moon. It was small so easy to learn how to create. First I teleport onto it and tab on the surface of the moon.

----------------------------------------

Quest: Make this a planetary satellite that protects the living planet

Details: A small planet-like rock that sole purpose is to protect the planet it cycles. Covered in ash and debris. The small satellite is made of common rock and small amounts of gold.

History: This was formerly a part of another planet that crashed with the fourth planet closest to the star/sun of our solar system. The planet crashed and broke into debris and this large chunk got stuck on the gravitation of the third planet or living planet.

Conditions for completion: Firstly, gravitates around the living planet. Second, we must stay in the gravitational pull of the third planet. Lastly, name this astronomical body.

----------------------------------------

So the last thing I have to do is name it. First, make sure it has a proportional size to the planet below (Let's call it the 3rd planet from now on) so that it rotates around without getting too close to the 3rd planet. I’ll have to install something on the axis of the satellite so it rotates correctly. I read from a book when I was younger that the moon had some ice on both the bottom and top like the earth just that it was underground. Maybe that would work. When I was young I was often bullied, mostly because I was an orphan and smaller than the others. As an orphan, I constantly had to move until I moved in with the last ones. They were kind and didn’t make everything seem so fake, I was small and people often thought that I needed special attention, I didn’t want that.

When I was with the old couple, Jim and Martha. Martha always wanted kids, but she couldn’t produce them as she had a miscarriage. They were old and had no more time, they felt that they missed out on having a child. I came into the picture and I couldn’t be happier. I grew to six feet (Really 5ft 11 inches, Shhhh). I wasn’t bullied anymore and Jim was always helpful with the little things. Of course, after I graduate high school, their time was already at its limit. In the beginning, since they had me they were already cracking down on having to take at least 10 pills a day and regular hospital checkups. They died only 3 months after I graduated.
