Brain Blast

"Great Sacajawea herself! Mom!" 'I hope she is okay.' I don't have anyone else to give me prime time hugs. At least not as good as Mom's, Mom having her rather big...uhhh...you know, makes for great softness and texture.

'Nope can't think that way, she's my mom now.' thought Daniel quickly snapping out of it. I hope she's still breathing. I get up and look at her body laying there, rising up, rising down. *sigh* Thank God. I mean Axel. I mean me. Old habits die hard. She sure is a great mom, just by looking at her you can tell she was by me the entire time I was asleep. She's practically emaciated! She lost about ten pounds just telling by looking at her, and it doesn't stop there, her nails are almost bitten to the point where there is only pink skin left, and she has bags under her eyes almost a mile deep.

I stand up and walk over to mom and try to stroke her head. My hands are to stubby, so it looks more like i'm shanking her cranium. Standing up was quite easy, usually for a baby to walk they are sixteen to seventeen months old.'Why do people refer to babies' ages in months? I guess it's faster.' 'I guess the Mana had a pretty big impact on me' Daniel thought while stroking his mom hair. My heads itchy *itch itch itch* oh I guess I have hair now to. "I must look so weird right now! Hahaha!" Thought Daniel aloud bellowing as best he could in his high pitched voice. Who ever met a baby that could speak, has hair, and doesn't even have baby fat anymore?!

My Mana pools pretty small right now, but I guess I have a long time to train, and get that up to my regular pool. I'll just stick to my training regime as best I can and hope everything comes out good in the end. Now that that's settled I have a big problem on hand. I mean it's super big. Like huge. 'Why did mom choose dad?! She could have anyone she wanted, but no that was the guy she wanted. Don't get me wrong Greg's a great guy and all, but come on mom.' I kinda wish I was an illegitimate child. Sike, but still. *sigh*. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

I sat there for the next hour stroking my mom's head best I could until she finally woke up.

"G..Greg...huh!?!"

"Daniel!"

"Oh thank God! The Doctors said you were dead, and...and!" Said Mom  with a cracking voice practically drowning in her own tears.

"Look at me talking to a baby. I don't care anymore just come here!" Mary reached out to hug her baby as best she could with her weak body deterred by days on end of just laying there hoping for a brighter future for her baby.

"Momma!" Oh shit, I got a little too excited and spoke Daniel realizing his blunder. He was planning on remaining the normal baby, but he figured that was blown out the window now.

"Huh?"

"Huh?"

"Ahh holy (*The next words were not for the human eyes*), wait no awwww, wait no." "Sorry Danny Mommy's confused right now, can you say that again."

"Momma?"

*Gasp*

Mary went into a deep meditation after this, she was almost sure that baby's didn't gain strong enough vocal cords to speak until they were at least eighteen months old. 'Oh by the great Lamia scale, my baby isn't debilitated right? Or worse, some kind of demon?!' Mary quickly put aside that thought as she didn't care if he was a demon or not. He was still her son. A good mother would never abandon her child, and a good mother is what Mary strived to be. The doctors said he would die within the week and that it was a miracle he was still breathing. And that was them toning it down! My baby should be dead, but he is alive how.

The doctors said that Daniel was the victim of a random Mana leyline convergence which happens every one to two thousand years, and that he was extremely unlucky to absorbed way more pure Mana than any baby could possibly handle. Yet he's right here in front of me speaking with a full head of hair. why does my head feels like it was being poked for at least an hour?!

"Daniel, umm can you understand me?"

*nob side to side*

"Oh thank God I thought..."

"Wait a minute you just nodded, you can understand me?!"

*Tch* Daniel was feeling a little bit stupid at another one of his dumb mistakes.

"Can you...uhh...speak?" said Mary with a wry smile. This was a little much for her to take in at once.

"Momma, Momma mom mommy Mama?" Said Daniel pretending to act stupid

"You can only say Mama?" Said Mary really bewildered by the situation she was currently living through. Mary was collecting her thoughts and she came to a conclusion that seemed to be the only thing that made sense. People tend to cling to what makes the most sense to them. Her baby boy must've been hit by the high quality Mana like the doctor said, and it probably somehow made his brain adapt to his surroundings to survive the Mana intake. Evolution was a big thing in modern education in their world.

"Yeah that's it..."

Mary knew very little of Mana except that everyone has it, and people who use it are called mages. She also knew it made miracles, well magic, but in her eyes they are practically the same thing, so whatever. Mana has never been understood after all, in her world that is.

//Daniel's perspective//

Mom has gone into a fit of trying to explain the situation, it wasn't hard to tell as waves of skin were formed on her forehead. She literally hasn't stopped muttering this whole time and now I'm starting to worry.

"Mom?" I reach out to her and speak like a pokemon best I can. Anyone else notice how much they can convey with a single word.

"Oh sorry Danny I was just thinking, you don't have to be worried, how about you sit on my lap until the doctor gets here?" Said Mary in a strenuous clearly worried about her baby, and the fact that she could very well be hallucinating this whole thing.

*Thirty minutes of awkward silence later*

"Mary can I come in would that be fine with you?"

'I don't know can you' Thought Daniel. Have I told anyone I'm a real good comedian yet, I could make gold off this.

"Yes Sheila you may."

'You tell her Mom!' Daniel thought stifling a laugh.

"Sheila I have a...uhh...a weird question." Said Mary looking seriously worried

"Sure Mary...what do you have to ask..? Sheila the doctor was clearly worried now to. She was the one to break the news to Mary, and was hoping she didn't hold any grudges of any sort for some reason. Maybe she's going crazy. It certainly happens from time to time mostly to soldiers...no Mary isn't like that. She's way too strong for that, and way to kind to hold any unwarranted grudges. Even more worried now as she had no idea what Mary could possibly be so worried about.

"So...umm when are babies' supposed to be able to speak?"

"Oh thank God *sigh of relief*....around sixteen to eighteen months why do you ask Mary, you already know this?" Said Sheila clearly relieved as this was a normal question to come across, but still worried because she knew she saw Mary read all those "Parenting for dummies" Manuals. There was no way she didn't know.

Mary pulled me out of where she was hiding me behind her back, she wanted to surprise her at first, but now she didn't care. Mom specifically told me to hide behind her back ad try not to move, and so as a good obedient son I did. Sheila is pretty...what's the word...I'd say sexy, but as a baby the word 'cute' seems to make more sense. I really hope all women are like this in this world. Pornhub was getting old. Sheila had lively auburn eyes, she was clearly healthy to as she had a nice lithe body, she wasn't that big in...*cough*...that area but it fit the aesthetic better. She was a brunette but was surprisingly small compared to mom at least, like five feet tall. She probably gets harassed around the office. Not that I'm any better though. 'If she babysitted me, lets just say, I'd become quiet attached to her *Wink* *Wink* 'Shit an eyelash just went in my eye.'

Sheila just sat there anxiously moving in the awkward silence that followed after she revealed her baby boy. Sheila was really confused at the quaint situation she was currently in. 'That baby was chock-full of Mana, and should have died immediately, yet here he is alive and breathing only after a few days. He looks like he's never been better for God's sake!' This was technically true as Daniel had absorbed the high class Mana, and his body developed a lot more than usual. Sheila as a doctor has never heard of a person surviving a ley line convergence, not even one, much less a baby. She didn't believe it.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Sheila quickly ran out of the room, she needed to get her fellow doctors for some guidance on what to do. 'Should I go back and help her? Probably, but the situation calls for more opinions, I don't want to give her some bad advice' Sheila tried telling herself that but she knew there would be only one opinion that mattered, Grand Doctorus Invictus. Sheila was really practically going crazy right now, basically because a miracle just happened. You know the saying "when pigs fly" well this was basically that. First of all babies can't even absorb Mana as they're to under-developed, second the baby absorbed the clearest Mana she had ever seen. Sheila can see Mana as it is required for all doctors to know a little bit of healing magic. Third of all you need to either meditate, or be old enough to absorb Mana from nature, and the baby wasn't either of those!

*Mary and Daniel still sitting there in an awkward silence...*

"Grand Doctorus Invictus! Grand Doctorus Invictus!" Sheila was running around the hospital looking for the Grand Doctorus, but he wasn't in his office so he called out into the hallways.

"Grand Doc-"

"For God sake Sheila you're in a hospital" Said a old man about six feet tall, with deep bags under his eyes. He has clearly been working hard.

"Grand Doctorus Invictus the boy he-he's al-alive!" Said Sheila still yelling, but then catching herself.

"Calm down Sheila, you've saved many people before why are you so worried about this one?" Said the old doctor questionly.

"It's th-the baby, th-the one who was struck by the ley-line he's alive..." Said Sheila blushing as she realized she made a scene.

"No, no I saw to him myself, no baby could survive that, heck I couldn't survive that now please stop with the bad joke. It was hard enough knowing the baby was gonna die."

"But Grand Doctorus I saw him myself, he was well beyond belief, and has even started speaking."

"I SAID STOP!" yelled the now more than agitated Doctorus. Why should he have to deal with this blockhead while he was on his lunch break.

"I'm not lying." Said the now crying Sheila who was doing all she could just to get the doctor to follow her.

"!!!" Invictus knew who Sheila was and knew how serious she was. The only reason he rejected her words actually was because he simply couldn't believe it, and secondly he was about to die due to lack of sleep and hunger. He hadn't gotten rest as he had to deal with a severely injured noble who had broken both his arms. There was no time in between so he couldn't get food.

"*sigh* Show me the way." The doctor is in.

"Yessir."

Few brief minutes later of trecking through the hospital...

"Daniel don't do that you'll fall..." Mary decided just to come to terms with her baby, and that he was simply more of a miracle than she anticipated.

'This new body is awesome, I can actually move now without blowing up a few planets!' Thought Daniel excitedly running from his Mom's lap to a post where he hung for a second off the edge of the bed. He got to tired though and let go after a few seconds. In his past life he got so powerful he had to make an empty universe if he wanted to go for a brief walk, anymore and the universe would break. That was why he wanted to die so badly. He got way too powerful. He had to poison himself like two million times just so all the Gods combined could kill him. Life as a baby was much better than life of going to get a drink of water, but then destroying your favorite galaxie, and so on.

"Mama.." Said Daniel right as the beautiful doctor along with an old man entered the room. Daniel figured out the 'cute' doctor name was Sheila, and that Mom could adapt surprisingly fast. Actually I'm pretty sure she just blocked out any bad thoughts and refused to accept them, but whatever what makes Mom happy makes me happy. I run behind Mom's back as trained, but she pulls me out laughing.

"He..He's actually alive" said the shocked old man. I was pretty sure he was gonna have a heart attack but he remained cool.

"Of course he is doctor, he has always been fine..." Said mom in a rather forceful tone...yeah she was definitely in denial...she's kind of scary to now that I think about it.

"Uhhh...Yeah"

"*whisper*Sheila is it true has he always been fine*whisper*"

"*whisper* Of course not I think she's in denial*whisper*"

"Hey I'm not in denial, infact I'm in acceptance they're totally different." Said Mary now mad at her doctor friend for betraying her.

'They could've at least tried to speak quieter' thought Daniel laughing on the inside as he watched the comical seen unfold. The old Man waddled over to me like a duck and reached out to see if I was really there and not a ghost. Beining the anti-social person I originally was, I moved back as I didn't want to be touched by an old man. I've read a lot of books, and generally when a boy gets touched by an old man it isn't good. I wasn't fast enough though and he picked me up. 'Mother you have betrayed me and left me for the grasp of this demon, but alas in my final moments I still love you' thought Daniel using a fake heroic deep voice. Mom didn't even try to stop him.

Little did he know that was the most important person next only to the city-master who was holding him. The Grand Doctorus Invictus.

"He's uh... a little hairy huh?"said the doctor who appeared to be in deep contemplation. He said while inspecting my little body. "And lean he said as he was pinching me." *Chomp* I bit him as hard as I could. When you can't flee you fight, or cower either way. "And feisty...I think I've come up with a reason why he is so, ummm....unusual." Said the doctor.

"I believe the high class Mana in his body made him adapt to live, making him stronger, and his age progress further than a normal baby, so he could survive the ley-line insurgence. Your baby must be loved by Mana madam." said the doctor matter of factly like.

"Wow how'd you figure that out?!" Mom said while for some weird reason also blocked out the fact that she to figured this out before the doctor. Wait no she just doesn't want to hurt the doctors feelings. Mom had just put on a really weird smile that she probably used when her unknown rude relatives come over, or so I think.

"Yes Grand Doctorus truly magnificent!" Said Sheila excitedly.

'Wow these people really want a good reputation around here, going for that raise huh Sheila?' thought Daniel getting bored of biting the old man. What can I do that would be fun. Hmmm? "Ma Maa Mama!" ("I got it!") They are gonna be so mad. Daniel put on his best devious evil smile and he kicked old man in his old face. "Argh...Damn you!" I started sprinting as the old man was rubbing his nose while using a low level healing magic on it. I dodged mom and I dodged Sheila and ran out the door as fast as I could. Tag is best played when people are chasing you after all. I ran down the hallway surprisingly fast for a baby with stubby legs and was at the end of the hallway when I saw Dad. "Kiya!!" The nurse screamed. It was kind of weird because he was a guy, he made Dad look in my direction. 'The more the merrier I guess' *sigh*.

"Huh...who is that?! Dan-Daniel! You're awake! Wait Danny why are you running?!" Said Dad not realizing it was strange for a newborn to be running. He had always figured I was strange I guess. "Oh, so that's how you're gonna play, you always were a momma's boy." Said Dad who was chasing me, but for some weird reason he was happy. 'Probably cause I'm awake'. "Stop that baby!" Screamed Mom, Sheila, and Old man in complete unison. Dad who was already chasing me was now laughing and gaining on me at the same time.

'Tch, simpleton, why would Mom chose someone like him' Thought Daniel while finding him unable to stifle his laughs either. This situation just looked to funny. Four grown ups chasing after an impossibly fast baby through a hospital. "Crap" I said under my breath when I saw how close Dad was, and the passing nurse moving a hurt Noble looking kid with broken arms to the another room. I turn and ran under the lady's legs, and no I didn't look up. I went through easily, not so much Greg. He was still in his armour because he was coming back from his job to check on his wife. He knew his son was fine, so it was more of a check up for his wife. He didn't know why but it didn't feel like his son was dead. From years on the battlefield he had gotten a sixth sense. A death sense. He knocked into the stretcher carrying the noble and launched him across the hallway into a wall. Lets just say his arms were fine, but otherwise...no.

I got into the room and spotted a window and seeing as how tired I was I figured the window was probably the quickest way to the bottom. I climbed up to the window to find out I was currently at the third story of the massive building. ‘I guess the last thing someone wants is to not have enough room in a hospital’ thought Daniel hearing the commotion outside. I opened the window and looked down *whistle* "that's a long way to go, well whatever" I hardened my body with Mana and jumped. Elemental Magic right now would look a little weird. 'Cause you know, I'm a baby. I land and "Boom!" I made a little crater drawing attention from passersby going in. I landed right by the entrance unfortunately *sigh* you'd think someone as great as me would be given a break once in awhile. "Wait I died because I didn't want to be bored anymore HaHa!" I laughed for a few seconds then. Lets just say not so much.

"Danny I'm gonna getcha." Said my dad who hurdled himself out the window I jumped from while plummeting to the earth. He landed like head first with a huge bwam. Making my boom seem tiny. That was not a dirty joke by the way. There were now two separate crates aligned together one bigger than the other each holding a person. "Tch!" I was annoyed now. I got up mooned my dad in the face and started to run again. I didn't get very far. Dad quickly picked me up with easy and held me in the air.

"You're a lot cuter with hair by the way, the toddler girls will like you a lot more you might even get to hold hands...HAHA." said Dad chastising me while laughing.

"Boy did you give me a scare when you jumped from that window, I thought you were a goner, but here you are without a scratch. It's every Dad's dream by the way, to have an extremely strong baby boy who could fall from windows and be fine." Said Dad with a dumb smile on his face.

"Stupid"

"What no, I just mean it's nice to have a baby boy who I know can't be bullied by kids his age, or older at that." Said Gref as if it wasn't weird to be holding a conversation with a baby in his lap while sitting in a small crater. Greg was a pretty easy going person least to say.

"Hmpf" I was still mad I lost the game of tag.

"Danny I know you're strong, but please hold off on the dangerous stuff until you're much older. I don't think My heart can take it." *Faints*. Guess Dad wasn't as accepting as I originally thought huh?

"Greg is Danny okay!...Greg!"

A few months later...

"Honey are you ready for pre-school?"

"Un"

"How ya feelin son."

There was only one word Danny could think of in this moment that applied to him correctly. Only one word that made sense. Only one word to describe himself. It just felt right after all this time.

...

"UNDEAD."
