The Fight for Dragon Peak

The Fight for Dragon Peak

The Zedgrasil. The World Tree that held up worlds in it's branches. Well, just one world for now, but there will be more.

On that said first world, whose name hasn't been decided yet, giant, scaly beasts walked the plains. Despite having nothing to eat, as the land they walked was barren, they thrived off of the natural energy that the world gave off, Mana. It was their lifeforce, their power.

The first Dragons hatched from white shells, and layed eyes upon the barren land that surrounded them. Those Dragons took it upon themselves to protect their kin when they were weak, and proclaimed themselves the rulers of their kin.

But power corrupts, and the strongest leader, the Earth Dragon Origon, turned against his kin when he found a mountain that held and abundance of different types of Mana. Now, despite being a Earth Dragon, Origon learned that he could absorb small amounts of other types of Mana to strengthen his body, and even merge his element with others.

To stop him, the leaders sent a call to each of their respective kin to bring their strongest warrior. Each fought Origon at Dragon Peak (what they called the mountain) for three straight days, but each one failed. Except for one, a young Red Dragon. Which brings us to now.

----------------------------------------

The peak was ridden with damage and scorched earth. On one side of the battlefield, a grey Dragon stood tall, despite have been shot in the face with fire and clawed with flames, as his scales were harder than stone. He had a flat head and a large maw, and a brown energy flowed through his body, hardening his scales and bone, increasing the power of his muscles. Dirt and fire seemed to float up from his claws and eyes. He was the first Earth Dragon and Greatest Threat, Origon.

Opposite of Origon, a Dragon with scales that were once a bright red, but now it was a dark red, like dried blood, and his body was littered with deep gashes, with one being over his eye. Red energy flowed from his wounds in the form of small flames, slowly healing him. This was the Red Dragon Tesgred, the strongest Red Dragon.

“What foolishness, and you call yourself the hero of Dragons? Your weak! And even if you beat me, you'll take all the power for yourself!”

“Origon, two things . First, I never called myself that. Second, I would never betray my kin. Not like you.” As soon as those words left Tesgred’s scaly lips, he lunged forward and stabbed his tail into the shoulder of Origon, yet only to we knocked back by a claw of earth and flame.

Origon nocked an eyebrow as he saw Tesgred's toothy grin that went from side to side. This confused Origon.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

“Your happy because you poked me? You must be going insane from the pain. If you are, I'll be kind and end this pitiful life for you.” Origon breathed in, and Mana entered his throat, causing a dim brown light to shine from within. When Tesgred saw this, a red light shone from within his throat, just like with Origon. All quiet for a moment, just a moment, then the two Dragons released the power from inside their throats in the form of a roar.

A gout of flame shot out of Tesgred's maw, and a wild brown flame counteracted it. This was their elemental breath, a Dragon's greatest weapon. Tesgred's flame was hotter than any fire, while Origon’s would pelt the victim in sharp, tiny stones that could piece three feet of stone and we're much stronger.

At first, it seemed Origon was winning the breathe battle, but then noticed something was wrong. Tesgred smiled mentally, and poured more Mana into the flame, making it bigger, brighter, and hotter. Origon's stones started to heat up and melt, and the fire began to obtain more ground. Origon pushed more Mana in, and that's when he realized what was wrong.

The location of the stab. While it wouldn't make him bleed blood, it released the Mana he had stored up. So, the more he tried to put into the stone breath, the more Mana dissolved into the air.

Origon looked at the Red Dragon. He didn't hit a single Mana vain in all his attacks, but the only successful one Tesgred landed on him was making him lose the battle.

The stone flame weakened, as Origon was losing Mana fast. The flame began to gain even more ground, until it was just inches away from his face. Then, it went into his mouth and through his body.

Origon tried to let out a roar, but his insides were already ash. Origon then died a second later. Tesgred's flame went out, as he stopped feeding it Mana. He roared aloud, and it carried for miles, letting every Dragon nearby that the mountain was now free. Tesgred collapsed, as he too died upon that mountain.

Jack went back outside after taking a nap, needing to check on his world. He walked outside, and using the Divine Arms, he grabbed the planet, and it's two moons followed suit. After taking a look, he saw that his Dragons had hatched and most of them were living on the sleeping Titanus, due to the Mana Titanus pulled in. Though some still lived around the world in caves. With his Dragon project successful, he pulled up the Divine Code for the planet and made a few changes.

First, he made it so grass and trees would grow, and wildlife would follow. They all had Mana inside of them, but not much. Second, he gave the planet a name. He couldn't just call it 'planet’ forever, now could he? He called it 'Arrea’. He finalized the Divine Code and pushed it back into the planet. He watched as Arrea’s Mana began to create non-sentient life. Putting the world back up on Zedgrasil, he walked inside.
