World After World is a story about a person traveling through the multiverse, directed by the choices of the readers through polls and/or comments. It is the kind of fiction we would term a "quest" were it written in a forum. There are Transmigrators - individuals who find themselves displaced through time and space from their own world to a different one, be it by reincarnating, interfusing, crossing a street or walking through a looking glass. Whether they make themselves at home or fight to find a way back, their lives are forever changed.But there is a stranger fate...For some, transmigration does not come just once, but many times. Some are fated to go from world to world through unguessed ages. They might stay for just a day or for a hundred years. They might remain a leaf upon the stream or find a way to channel their course. They might well change bodies or even lose them. They might wear the faces of peasants, kings, cooks, sea captains, beggars, explorers, heroes, villains. They might live a hundred life-times then one day find themselves home again as if they had never left.These are the Recurring Transmigrators. And this is the story of one. Alright, this story is going to be a lot of firsts for me. My first attempt at a long form story, my first attempt at serialized fiction, my first attempt at reader-interactive fiction and my first original story shared in the internet. Or so it will be provided I do not drop it soon after starting. Unlike some other stories I wish to put down to paper some day, this thing is going to have next to no planning in it, we're going to improvise things as we go along.
