Trapped Like A Lab Rat

Trapped Like A Lab Rat

Location: Atlanta, Georgia

Date: December 30th, 2019

Voiceless: Dr.Henerick

Day 1

You would think, being in one of the most secure laboratories in the United States that accidents wouldn’t happen, but they do. Just after receiving the first samples from the viral outbreak in New York City, all things went to shit.

To my knowledge, I'm one of the few scientists left in the building uninfected, and currently, we are quarantined inside with the military having a secure area around the laboratory. I’ll be honest, my chances are not looking that great. I’m also writing this cause I feel like I have to. I don’t want to be alone with my thoughts, and having something to reflect on them is helping me cope.

Do you wanna know the funny thing is that it’s not the infection that’s gonna kill me it’s… it’s military. They informed us that they’re not gonna take the risk of extracting a few left inside and instead are planning to leave us locked inside with these abominations of nature. not that I blame them, because having the infection released into another populace center is too dangerous. We almost lost New York.

We can’t lose Atlanta

Do you wanna know the worst part is that don’t even know how the outbreak happened? I was sitting in my lab analyzing the sample results and next thing I know we’re on full lockdown and I’m stuck in my office. I can see people calling them zombies but they’re more like infected because they’re not dead. They’re still living I think from what I’ve researched from what I saw in samples at least and they’re burning through energy so eventually they’ll die on their own. It’s too dangerous to leave and I don’t think I’ll last that long.

On the bright side, they have left the electricity on so I can continue my research as long as possible and upload my results to the community.

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

Day 3

Happy New Year’s!

I didn’t think I would ever be one of those people who would work through the New Year’s but here I am… alone with the Infected. My projections say that I will run out of food on day eight if not sooner and water on day nine. I hope that my family follows my advice and gets out of the city. They said that they would but my family is full of stubborn people. One of the reasons I continue my work I’m too stubborn to die without making at least one major breakthrough in my career.

I miss them…

Day 5

So it turns out that they won’t die by themselves the infected go into a semi-hibernation mode, and without any activity, they stop burning the energy left in the cell, which means I am… stuck…trapped in a building full of sleeping murder bears. This also means that any attempt to reclaim the red zones, apparently that's what we are calling lost zones due to infection, in New York will take years if not decades.

Last night. I heard, screaming from the barricade, and this morning I saw blood covering the outpost walls. I think the barricades have failed. I’ve uploaded everything that I discovered and won't be rehashing it on here look at the reports if you want that shit.

Day 6

So apparently there was an outbreak near the outpost that the military had set up and they pushed back to the perimeter a couple of blocks and are planning to level the area with explosives. And using small strike teams to clear the area from any that may be surviving.

I also heard screaming from one of the offices near me and I think they found that prick boss at least it sounded like him. Not speak ill of the dead, but that dude had it coming. well, he might not be dead technically, but I wouldn’t consider him living either. Well, at least I won’t have to attend any more meetings. you have to look on the bright side of things.

I think this will be the last entry I make because I fucked up and made too loud of noise and now there they are at my door clawing and I don’t think the door will last that longer so due to the fact, I still have a connection I will upload my diary or log. On the bright side I don’t have to worry about being blown to bits… just eaten alive.. and then being blown to bits.

This is Sean Henrik signing out and I hope my research helped.

~~~
Dr. Henrik's report was invaluable seeing that labs across the country had destroyed their samples as a result of his CDC lab in Atlanta going into lockdown and later “sanitized”. This had set back research by weeks to revise the procedures used in laboratories that handle live samples of the virus. Dr. Henrik was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom posthumously for his unwavering resolve to continue with his research while knowing that there was zero chance of being rescued. His theories served as a launch point for many scientists and he is credited for each one of them proven. He is survived by his wife and son.
