Cold, dark, and my vision began to blur. It wasn't something I wanted, because I hadn't expected it. I was suffocated, and death came unexpectedly. Losing consciousness was the worst, and everything went black.
"Hey! Hey!" One of the bullies kicked me as they panicked, realizing I wasn't moving.
"You're joking, right? He died?" they muttered, their voices laced with fear and disbelief as they checked my lifeless body. I had already passed, choked on my own breath.
My death triggered a series of devastating consequences. My family sued the bullies' family and the school, as did my mother soon after. She had been overwhelmed by grief, having lost her only son to something he didn't deserve.
My father spiraled into despair. Unable to cope with the overwhelming grief, he ended up in a mental asylum four months later, where he ultimately took his own life.
It wasn't fair. None of this was. I had always been a good child, obedient, kind, and loyal to my family. Yet my very existence had caused their ruin, their deaths.
But God gave me a vision. In it, they were protected by heavenly angels, granted painless deaths and relief after the suffering they endured.
"Thank you."
"You are welcome." The voice of God was soothing, gentle, and filled with warmth. It wrapped around me like a comforting melody, easing the pain in my heart.
"What should I do now? I have no clue... I have no home to return to, no family left," I said, my voice trembling as I wept. I cried, not out of fear of death itself, but because I had found myself lost in this place, this Heaven, without a beginning, only an end. I welcomed the pain when death came for me, but now that I was here, I felt hollow.
"I will grant you three wishes, Valtor. Any wish you desire," God said lovingly, His voice resonating with grace as I gazed upon His majesty seated upon His throne.
"I am sorry, my Lord... I don't want any wishes," I said, my voice breaking. "Would You allow me to grieve? Just for a little while."
I wept, not loudly, but deeply, letting my emotions flow in silence. My tears were an unspoken plea, a quiet surrender to the sorrow that clung to me.
God allowed me to grieve. His presence enveloped me, and I felt an overwhelming warmth, unlike anything I could ever describe. It was as if His arms wrapped around me, pulling me into a gentle embrace, offering love and solace that transcended every sorrow, every fear, every moment of pain.
I couldn't describe it, this warmth. It wasn't just physical; it went deeper, into my very soul. It was healing, it was divine, and it was home.
"It's alright, this Heaven will be your forever home," God said, His voice filled with a comforting, yet gentle finality. But instead of bringing peace, His words made me feel even sadder. I couldn't describe the heaviness in my heart. Only my tears could express the depth of my sorrow.
I wept for thirty minutes, trying to control myself, my emotions swirling within me. God watched quietly, allowing me to release my grief in silence. The warmth of His presence was still there, comforting me as I slowly calmed down.
"God... would you mind if I... want to go to Hell?" I asked, my voice shaky.
"Why?" God asked softly, His voice filled with gentle curiosity.
"I feel guilty," I said, my words weighed down with regret. "I feel the sin of my parents' passing. I should've fought back, fought against the discrimination. But I was too obedient. Perhaps, punishment will make me a better person. My cowardice led to consequences for others, and now it's affecting my well-being."
God paused for a moment, considering my request. "Very well, that being will guide you to Hell," He said, and with a snap, infernal flames erupted before us.
From the flames, the Devil himself appeared—a figure of darkness and fire, towering in presence. His grin was sharp, his eyes gleaming with mischief.
"What is all this about... Olalala... a human in Heaven? It's been a long time since Adam and Eve were here. Hey, nice to meet you!" The Devil stepped forward with an outstretched hand.
"The Devil, or Satan, if you will. What's your name, fella?" I hesitated for a moment before shaking his hand.
"Valtor."
"Really? Just Valtor?" Satan laughed heartily, a sound that reverberated through the air.
"Come on! Let’s see, your new secondary name will be... Aha! Ismael. How does that sound?" I was taken aback by his sudden change in my name, but I was too stunned to react.
"Thank you," I said, still in disbelief.
"Aw, come on, don't be like that! So what's the fuss?" Satan asked, his tone still lighthearted. I explained my situation to him, and he listened intently. After hearing my story, Satan gasped in shock.
"Oh my... well, let’s go to Hell then. You sure you want to go there? Think this through—Hell’s a place of damnation, don’t mistake it for Heaven."
"I know. I deserve it," I said, my resolve firming as I embraced the consequences of my past actions.
"You’re a good kid," Satan said with a smile, his hand resting on my shoulder.
"Let’s go then. Don’t bite your tongue, okay?"
"Huh?" I murmured, confusion setting in, but before I could fully process my decision, we were already on our way.
And so began my descent into Hell. The moment I crossed into that place, I regretted everything. The flames were scorching, the air thick with suffering. Hell wasn’t just a place of torment—it was a never-ending nightmare. Days blurred into weeks, weeks into months, and I lost count of the time. I was enduring Hell itself, my every step a cleansing of my sins.
It was more painful than I could ever have imagined, but I knew it was the consequence of my cowardice, my failures, my inability to stand up when it mattered. Here, in the depths of Hell, I would pay the price for everything.
I suffered countless torments and punishments in the seven layers of Hell. There was no joke in it; it was something I didn’t know why or how I decided to do.
"You’re not biting your tongue, good. Keep that up," Satan said with an amused tone.
"Thank you."
"You’re a strong fella. I like you, not that ‘like,’ but genuine respect."
"Yes." I stood up, and Satan escorted me back to Heaven.
"Yeah, he’s done with the torture."
"God, Satan, thank you. God, perhaps the wish... I want to inform my parents that I’m sorry for being such a burden to them, and I want them to be safe in the afterlife. My second wish is to change my attitude. I want to fight and face war. I want to be braver, not just passive, even if it costs my life. And my last wish, I love video games. I want video game power, a Video Game System attached to me forever." I said my intentions clearly as God watched me, while Satan clapped, clearly supporting me.
"I see. I’ve already sent your regret to them. You’re a good kid, Valtor," God praised me, igniting my spirit.
"Look at him, still fresh and green. Perhaps we can teach him?" Satan suggested to God, who looked at me, filled with excitement.
"Living here? As human? I have a better plan. Valtor," God said loudly, startling me. I immediately straightened up instinctively, reacting like a soldier on duty.
This content has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
"Yes, My Lord!" God chuckled upon seeing my reaction.
"Because you are the first human to endure damnation in Hell and survive the seven layers, I will grant you seven blessings. Do you want them?" The offer seemed too good to be true. It scared me, yet I knew I had to end this passive cycle.
"Yes, please." Satan nodded, and God gave me something, A seven golden clouds.
"Touch the clouds, and you will receive what you wish to have," God said.
I looked at Him, trying to comprehend His intent. These seven clouds… would they truly grant me any wish I desired? Any wish?
I was curious about how angels looked, but why settle for just being an angel when I could become a Seraphim? Seraphim are described as six-winged celestial beings made of heavenly fire and light. They have six large, feathered wings, often portrayed as covered in eyes: two wings covering their face, two wings covering their feet, while the remaining two are used for flight.
But I was too excited. I touched all seven golden clouds at once. The moment I did, everything changed. My body felt like it was going to burst, as if something inside me was burning. I passed out in an instant.
"Seems it was too much?" Satan said, picking me up as I lay unconscious. Heaven fairies appeared one by one, bringing me to a lower level of Heaven to recover.
When I woke up, the sound of giggling filled the air. The fairies were looking at me.
"Morning," one of them said, her voice making me blush hard. The heavenly fairies had spotless appearances, like protected pearls, each one a maiden with beautiful eyes, the same age as me. Hearing their voices made me nervous. oh man, I was still so young. But seeing so many of them in Heaven made my heart race like an engine.
"I... um... I..." I stammered, feeling embarrassed. I was surrounded by beautiful girls.
"You are the third one here, after Adam and Eve. The Lord gave you something you desired, didn’t He?" one of the fairies said, her voice like that of a soothing sister who loved you unconditionally.
"I wasn’t aware," I admitted, feeling even more clueless about what had happened. They giggled at my ignorance.
"First, let’s see. You wished to be a Seraphim, right? Seraphim are the highest beings, besides the Almighty Lord. But because you wished to be a Seraphim and not merely should be one, the Lord gave you something else. Now, go to My Lord’s presence and ask what grace you’ve obtained." I obeyed the fairy’s instructions and made my way to God’s throne, not far from the lower level of Heaven.
"God," I called, appearing before the throne. I could hear and see many angels around me, Archangels, Virtues, Ophanim, Cherubim, and, of course, Seraphim.
"Valtor, enjoying paradise?" God’s voice boomed, gentle and knowing.
"I’m glad, but can I ask what I received after touching the seven golden clouds?" I asked, curiosity filling me.
God gave me light, and suddenly, a notification appeared before me:

"Those are the seven blessings I have bestowed upon you. You love video games, correct? Now, I have given you video game powers, a system tied to you forever. These seven foundations, or what you might call your ‘database,’ can generate sub-skills, talents, and abilities. You can acquire these through leveling up, completing tasks, or learning by doing just like in a role-playing game."
"Thank you" I said sincerely, marveling at the potential within me.
"Needs some polishing. Give it to me," Satan said, touching my name, causing something to emerge from it. Satan inserted something back into my system, and a sudden feeling of improvement coursed through me.

I checked the status window, and I was shocked by what I saw.

This was a nice interface, but I wondered how to utilize it fully. Perhaps this was just the starting point of the tutorial.
"How do I increase my level up system ?" I asked, curious because I could feel this was just the beginning.
"Experience. Experience comes from your actions, completing tasks, or learning by doing. But there will also be Skill Points. Skill Points are used to enhance your sub-skills from the main ability. Remember that," God said, with caution, and Satan agreed.
"Correct, Valtor. Because of your love for video games, leveling up is essential. That’s what will make you a true Seraphim. For now, you must decide where you want to go."
"Pardon ?" I asked, still unsure.
"Remember, you're still young. Barely mature. Even though we’ve given you absolute power, it doesn’t mean you’ll be powerful immediately. Even the all-powerful have limits, but you have no limits. You can progress, while others are stuck with the limitations of their existence."
"What Satan says is correct. To be omnipotent, you need to experience everything. I will offer you a chance to transmigrate into a semi-futuristic world, a world combining modern elements and magic, along with a magical artifact. In exchange, the natural magical elements will be bestowed upon it," God explained.
I felt a surge of excitement.
"But if I transmigrate, how will my life as a new individual unfold ?" I asked.
"Already taken care of. Consider it a blessing from both of us," Satan said with a genuine smile, his excitement palpable.
"You need not worry about the formalities. Step forward, my boy!"
"That is correct, Valtor. Do not worry about formalities. Think of this as your journey. Your home is here, and you can return anytime you wish, whenever you feel satisfied," God affirmed, his tone full of warmth.
"Then I become an adventurer in another world?" I asked, my voice filled with anticipation.
"Correct, Do not hesitate to do anything. Learn everything. It’s okay to be evil, it’s okay to be good. It’s all about experience and understanding the consequences of your actions." I nodded at God’s words, then turned around as Satan gave me a tattoo on my back.
"I’ve given you a tattoo, Caelesti Marescalli. This tattoo signifies you as a Heaven Marshal. Remember, your name means 'Ruler of the Army,' and so this tattoo represents you as the General of Angels and the Marshal of Demons. Angels above and Demons below are your army, ready to heed your call. If you cannot fight Something that beyond your capability, call on us, and we will answer your call."
"Thank you," I said sincerely, feeling ready for the journey. Suddenly, God opened a portal in front of me—a mesmerizing, radiant gateway of light and swirling patterns.
"Have fun, Valtor," God said with a smile, his voice full of encouragement.
I nodded respectfully, then turned to Satan.
"Remember to return here," Satan said, his tone a mixture of amusement and seriousness.
I nodded again before stepping through the portal.

When I emerged, I found myself in a small, cozy condominium. The design was modern yet compact, and the space was inviting. It seemed perfectly suited for someone starting fresh. As I walked to the balcony to take in the view, my jaw dropped in astonishment.
Before me was a semi-futuristic world filled with fantastical elements. Dragons clad in gleaming robotic armor soared across the skies, their powerful wings cutting through the air. On the streets below, unique fantasy creatures, some with mechanical augmentations, towed large crates and boxes. The fusion of magic and technology was astounding, and I couldn't help but feel both excited and slightly overwhelmed.
Looking to my side, I noticed two of my neighbors on their own balconies. One was an older man with a newspaper in one hand and a pipe in the other, puffing smoke thoughtfully. His horns immediately caught my attention—an Oni, perhaps? On the other side was a serene-looking woman meditating. Her moth-like antennae gently swayed in the breeze, her presence as tranquil as the dawn.
"Hello," I greeted them warmly.
The old man gave a small wave without looking up from his newspaper. Meanwhile, the moth-woman opened her eyes briefly, smiled at me kindly, and resumed her meditation.
Even from this brief interaction, it was clear they weren’t entirely human. Their appearances and auras were subtly, yet unmistakably, otherworldly.
I turned back to take in the view again, letting it all sink in. This was my new life. My second chance. A world of possibilities and experiences awaited me here.
"It's time to start over," I murmured to myself, determination welling up within me.
"This time, I'll live fully, without regret."
