LIST OF GODS
Below is the list of gods in this story. They are the creators of the universe, which is also known as the Terrestrial Realm. Beyond time exists the Celestial Realm, which houses many other realms but they’re not really explored in this story. Outside of The Will each god has been sealed away inside a crystal in the far reaches of the Terrestrial Realm due to events that took place in another story far removed from the planet Irikihl. Irikihl is the world the story of Witch Tier takes place in.
The Will: Supreme creator. Controls everything that transpires within creation, both good and bad. Sometimes referred to as the Great Spirit.
Avalith(Ah-vuh-lith): God/Angel of fire. Avalith is the creator and controller of all fire and heat in the Terrestrial Realm.
Vyrkaidon(Ver-kai-done): God/Angel of nature. Vyrkaidon is the creator and controller of all nature and vegetation in the Terrestrial Realm.
Kaigon(Kai-gun): God/Angel of rock. Kaigon is the creator and controller of all rocks and minerals in the Terrestrial Realm.
Iarlec(Yar-lek): God/Angel of air/lightning. Iarlec is the creator and controller of all the atmospheres of the planets of the Terrestrial Realm.
Quatace(Kwa-tas): God/Angel of water. Quatace is the creator and controller of all water in the Terrestrial Realm.
Lyrkru(Lurk-ru): God/Angel of light. Lyrkru is the creator and controller of all light in the Terrestrial Realm.
Dyrkcen(Dirk-sen): God/Angel of darkness. Dyrkcen is the creator and controller of all darkness and gravity in the Terrestrial Realm.
Alkadeius(Al-kay-day-us): God/Angel of evil and calamity. Gives great power to wicked people to carry out wicked acts. Constantly coaxes and tempts good people to perform evil acts.
LIST OF RACES
Below is the list of races in the Terrestrial Realm. These races/nations correspond to the element of the god they resemble. Meaning Avalians come from the continent of Avalith on planet Irikihl and can control fire. The same goes for the other nations besides the Arcane.
Arcane: People with dark brown skin and black hair and eyes; ethnically they appear to be Black/African-American. These people can control every element with their vyrkra, though it doesn’t come as natural to them as it does for the other races. Only humans can be Arcane.
Avalians(Ah-vall-ians): People with pale skin and red eyes and hair; ethnically they appear to be Caucasian. These people can create and control fire with their vyrkra.
Vyrkians(Virk-ians): People with brown skin and green eyes and hair; ethnically they appear to be Hispanic/Latin American. These people can create and control nature with their vyrkra.
Kaigans(Kai-gens): People with very dark brown skin and brown eyes and hair; ethnically they appear to be East-African/Ethiopian(Yes, there is a difference between Black/African-Americans and certain other African peoples. They have different phenotypes and everything.). These people can create and control rocks with their vyrkra.
Iarlans(Yar-lens): People with brown skin and gray eyes and hair; ethnically they appear to be Arabic. These people can create and control air/electricity with their vyrkra.
Quatans(Kwa-tens): People with brown skin and blue eyes and hair; ethnically they appear to be Pacific Islanders. These people can create and control water with their vyrkra.
Lyrkrians(Lurk-re-ans): People with brown skin and yellow eyes and hair; ethnically they appear to be East-Indian. Some Lyrkrians can have light yellow skin and appear to be East-Asian ethnically(Chinese). These people can create and control light with their vyrkra.
Dyrkcens(Dirk-sens): People with light yellow skin and purple eyes and hair; ethnically they appear to be East-Asian(Japanese). These people can create and control darkness and gravity with their vyrkra.
Because this is loosely based on a game I created each race/element is more effective against another. So it goes: Fire/Avalians > Nature/Vyrkians > Rock/Kaigans > Electricity/Iarlans > Water/Quatans > Fire/Avalians
Light/Lyrkrians <> Darkness/Dyrkcens
---------------------------------------
Innokian Races
In addition to humans there are several other sentient beings that occupy the world that fall under the umbrella of the Innokian(Ee-no-kians) species:
Tahlyans(Tall-yens): This species resembles humans the most as they appear to be tall thin elves. They have long pointed ears that are either angled up or down. The roots of their hair have a dark tint to it. They have large irises and no pupils as well as subtle markings around their eyes. They also have fangs(like a vampire), long nails that resemble claws, and typically range from 6-7 feet in height. They have the highest amount of vyrkra of all the species. Rivna and Smoke are of this species.
Ohgahnians(Oh-gone-ians): Humanoid dragons that range from 8-11 feet in height. They have large wings and can fly. Typically they’re the mightiest of the unique species. Aldrog is of this species.
Yzzarians(Y-zarr-ians): Lizard people. Very similar to Ohgahnians except they have no wings but longer tails. They range from 6-7 in height. The swiftest of the species.
Krahmlyns(Kram-lins): Small rodent-like people. Depending on the region they’re from their looks range from several rodents; including hamsters, chipmunks, rabbits, and or mice. They range from 2-3 feet in height. Possibly the cutest and hardest working race of them all. They sort of make up the dwarves of this universe. They have the highest fortitude/defense of all the species. Gidget is of this species.
Grushians(G-rush-ians): Tall grizzly bear-like people that range from 7-8 feet in height. They’re quite large and are generally slothful/lazy. Some of them resemble dogs more than bears. They boast immense strength and fortitude and are surprisingly agile for their size.
Veguhls(vee-gulls, rhymes with seagulls): Bird-like people that look fairly similar to humans outside of their feathered wings and hair. They range from 6-7 feet in height. This is the rarest species in the Terrestrial Realm.
The unique species also fall under the specified races above. For example, the protagonist Rivna is a Quatan Tahlyan, meaning she has all the features of a Tahlyan but with blue eyes and hair and ethnically appears to be Pacific Islander. The character Gidget is a Lyrkrian Krahmlyn, so he has yellow fur and eyes.
In regards to multispecies characters only Tahlyans and Veguhls are capable of breeding with humans, even though it’s highly considered taboo. Tahlyans and Veguhls are incapable of breeding with each other. The other species are only capable of breeding with their own kind. And as far as multiracial characters are concerned(for example an Avalian man mates with a Vyrkian woman) the child will always take after their father more than their mother, particularly in skin color and hair color, but they may have the eyes of their mother
QUEEN HIERARCHY & TIERS OF POWER
The heirarchy of power is categorized into known tiers within the world of Witch Tier. Below you will find a simple list of power levels to help you gain a basic understanding of who is more powerful than who in this world. Do note that the highest tier, Witch Tier, is the level of power one needs to even stand a chance against an opponent within that tier.
--------------------------------------
Witch Tier
--------------------------------------
- Queen of Queens
- The Princesses(Queen of Queens' daughters; so Hrist, Heldine, Hannah, etc.)
- Regional Queens. The female rulers of each continent/nation listed above. So Queen Bethel, Queen Clockwork, Queen Titania, etc.
- A lot of powerful Aeons(mythical beasts) reside in this tier.
--------------------------------------
Palyth Tier
--------------------------------------
- Powerful fighters and warriors that are in tune with their vyrkra. Rivna, Kenjiro, Yinyah, and Smoke are some examples of warriors in this tier.
- Powerful fauna can reside in this tier. This includes dragons, Myrrindis, Kyta, and Egondri.
--------------------------------------
Warrior Tier
--------------------------------------
- A tier filled with people that are stronger than the average man but not quite strong enough to take on those within the Palyth Tier. This tier typically consists of trained guards/soldiers and such.
--------------------------------------
Common Tier
--------------------------------------
- Everyone else falls into this tier.
There's actually a secret tier that's far above Witch Tier that's prevalent in my other stories. However, this story never calls for it. While it's not labeled the Queen of Queens is the only character that is within that secret tier.
POWER SYSTEM
Vyrkra(Virk-ra): Basically magic. It was used by the gods to create the Terrestrial Realm. It is the physical manifestation of spiritual power and everyone besides The Will possesses it, although to varying degrees. Vyrkra can be used to enhance one’s physical prowess or perform Vyrkra Arts, which are spells/techniques. Here’s a tidbit; the word vyrkra rhymes with the same word that is used to measure the power of a popular ninja from anime. If you know what series I’m talking about then you should have a firm idea of how vyrkra works.
Vyrkra Arts: Because a lot of the lore of this story is heavily inspired by the Final Fantasy series most Vyrkra Arts function similarly to a lot of the spells of that series. For instance, in Final Fantasy the main fire spells are Fire, Fira, and Firaga. In Witch Tier the main fire spells are Avalo, Avaega, and Avagigos(notice they’re named after Avalith?). Later in the series some of the stronger opponents can only be taken down in a similar manner to how some of the bosses are taken down in those games.
Unauthorized usage: this narrative is on Amazon without the author's consent. Report any sightings.
Terrestrial Arts: The “Physical” form of vyrkra. Terrestrial Arts are a subdivision of Vyrkra Arts that mainly comprise of attacks or techniques that take the form of solid matter. The power of Terrestrial Arts stems from the user’s body, and when they are in tune with the planet they are on the potency of their Terrestrial Arts are intensified. Terrestrial Arts are much easier to master than Celestial Arts, however they are much weaker in power when used outside of the Terrestrial Realm.
Celestial Arts: The “Magical” form of vyrkra. Celestial Arts are a subdivision of Vyrkra Arts that mainly comprise of attacks or techniques that are of an ethereal, non-solid, form. Celestial Arts are a discipline that is general much more volatile and powerful than Terrestrial Arts. However, they are much more difficult to control and master, resulting in fewer individuals being able to harness most Celestial Arts to their full capacity. Being the more “pure” version of Vyrkra Arts, Celestial Arts are far more commonly seen during a heated exchange of Vyrkra Arts between two opponents. In the world of Witch Tier, Celestial Arts generally can only be used through the help of vyrkracite, or “Steam” due to the sophistication of these techniques. Celestial Arts are much more powerful and easier to control in the Celestial Realm.
Iyn: The very essence of one's soul. Iyn literally translates to "life" in ancient Massadan. A person's Iyn is much stronger than their vyrkra but is much more difficult to tap into, and far more difficult to master. Emotion is very much intertwined with the power of Iyn, and less tempermental characters will have a harder time utilizing this power. While a character's vyrkra can change a great deal over the course of their lifetime, their Iyn potential is pretty much set in stone from the day they are born.. When hightened, Iyn can greatly multiply one's vyrkra levels for a brief period of time. Iyn is always an X factor in bouts between powerful warrriors.
M.O.D./Matter Optimization Device: Ever found it strange how in RPGs the characters can just magically store 99 swords in their pockets? In this universe I rectify that problem by giving most of the prominent characters mods or M.O.D. It’s a cellphone sized device that allows them to materialize and store most objects after they initially scan it with them. These devices have ancient origins in the story.
CHARACTER VYRKRA LISTINGS
(To avoid story spoilers I highly recommend not viewing this until you have at least read chapter 22!)
This is a comprehensive list of the characters Vyrkra and Iyn levels. Since a character's vyrkra can increase as they grow this list will note where their levels are per arc. Right now since we're currently in the first major arc of the story there will be only one listing per character.
As a side note, Arcane innately have extremely pitiful Iyn potential, especially the males. The story will expound on this down the line. Also the Syrrna Goggles listings you see prior to chapter 49 aren't necessarily false but this is the most accurate and definitive listing.

CLASS SYSTEM
Here is an incomplete list of the classes that exist in the universe. In the world of Witch Tier classes play a huge role in the power dynamic of each region. Most classes have cultural originals, meaning that individuals practicing a specific profession can mostly be found, or only be found, in designated regions/continents of the world Irikihl. Those familiar with the Final Fantasy series, particularly Final Fantasy Tactics, may have an easier time understanding the classes and each of their unique individual functions.
Palyth(Pal-ith) - The "Tank" class of the Terrestrial Realm. Palyths are the “knights” of Witch Tier. They possess high raw strength and fortitude and are usually reserved for individuals with selfless spirits, making them ideal for guards. Palyth is actually the root word of Palytheum, which is the sacred book of the Massadans containing the Code, divine laws given directly from The Will. Because of this, one who is training/practicing the laws of the Code are also considered Palyths in ancient Massadan culture. This is what The Will was referring to in Chapter 1 when he was talking about, “the good Palyth”.
Palyths specialize in using their Vyrkra reserves to fortify their bodies, allowing them to take more damage than other classes. They can learn useful techniques such “Ikyrure”, which causes their vyrkra to draw in the attention of Fiends, keeping aggro away from their allies. When fighting more intelligent foes, they can learn the powerful “Gyn-Phalanx” ability, which cloaks their allies in a barrier that channels all damage they take to the user(fun fact the root word “Gyn” means “multi” or “many” in the Ancient Massadan language).
Blavyk(Blah-vic) Palyth - This class is similar to the Palyth, except they specialize in defending against Celestial attacks versus the Palyth’s high proficiency in defending against Terrestrial attacks. Many more details will be coming soon.
Blavyk Caster - The "Black Mage" class of the world. In the ancient Massadan language the word “Blavyk” means destruction, or oblivion. These Casters excel at using Celestial Arts that deal extensive damage. As a Caster class they are pretty straight forward in that they are proficient at dealing Celestial damage, and very little else. Blavyk Casters are found in virtually every region, however they are most commonly found on the continent of Avalith. Because their destructive output is so vast, they are usually targeted first in battles. In the beginning of the story Loc changes to this class to learn powerful Celestial Arts, being that his Celestial affinity is very high.
Iynvyk(In-vic) Caster - The "White Mage" class of the world. In the ancient Massadan language the root word “Iyn” means life, restore, or eternity. These Casters are pretty much the polar opposite of their Blavyk counterparts in that they specialize in taking advantage of their Celestial affinity to heal others. The Iynvyk Caster is quite possibly the most difficult class to master because they require a vast understanding of both Terrestrial Arts and Celestial Arts, making them extremely rare in the world of Witch Tier. Due to their high understanding of both the fundamental properties of the Terrestrial Realm, as well as the Celestial Realm, adept Iynvyk Casters can use their vyrkra to internally fortify their defense and Celestial resistance. Iynvyk Casters can be some of the most difficult opponents to take down, especially if they have mastered abilities such as the “Juuvysis” art, which gradually restores their health rather quickly over a short period of time.
Most of the Iynvyk Casters’ Vyrkra Arts consist of techniques that heal and restore. Even adept Iynvyk Casters can bring the dead back to life if the victim’s body is still somewhat intact and the reaper hasn’t collected a soul yet(fun fact whenever a “Train Whistle” is heard it signifies that the reaper has taken one’s soul, thus they cannot be revived). While Iynvyk Casters are typically very powerful individuals all of their Vyrkra Arts require a lot of vyrkra to pull off, meaning that they can run out of steam very quickly. Most of the world’s Iynvyk Casters hail from the continent of Lyrkru.
Scarlet Caster - The "Red Mage" class of the world. Scarlet Casters excel at both Terrestrial Arts and Celestial Arts. These Casters mainly hail from Avalith, hence the “Scarlet” title. They are proficient in both Blavyk and Iynvyk Arts, and are well versed in Terrestrial Arts. Jack-of-all-trades master of none is the very definition of this class. Scarlet Casters also have developed the unique ability to “Double” or “Triple” cast their Vyrkra Arts, allowing them to perform multiple castings of a particular technique at once. Before the Queen of Queens ruled the world, Avalian Iynvyk and Blavyk Casters invented this class to meet their needs for war during their many conquests. This class is the pride of Avalith, and Princess Hrist is the greatest user of the class.
Stagyk(Stay-jik) Caster - The "Green Mage" or "status ailment" class of the world. Many more details will be coming soon.
Tygyk(Tee-jik) Caster - The "Time Mage" class of the world. Many more details will be coming soon.
Aevyk(Ay-vic) Caster - The "Summoner" class of the world. Many more details will be coming soon.
Kreygyk(Kray-jik) Warrior - The “Berserker” class of the world of Witch Tier. Kreygyk Warriors are gladiators that have immense strength and fortitude and can perform incredibly devastating Terrestrial Arts. Actually, this class is the king of Terrestrial Arts, as they are capable of mastering the most powerful Terrestrial Arts. These warriors are not afraid to get their hands dirty and trade blows with their opponent. The more damage they take the more damage they can dish out, and due to being proficient with a vast array of weapons they can easily adapt to many situations. Kreygyk Warriors originally hail from Kaigon, the largest continent both in size and array of Fiends and fauna. The Kaigans invented this class to help them fend off fiends and defeat neighboring nations. While they can be quite devastating on the battlefield, Kreygyk Warriors typically lack Celestial resistance, making them prone to a swift defeat against a strong “Caster” class.
Yhol-Yin(Yol-Yin) - The "Monk" class of the world. Yhol-Yin originated from the continent of Lyrkru, but many are found in the continent of Iarlec as well. Yhol-Yin specialize in close ranged martial arts combat and are masters at controlling their vyrkra. Those that are disciplined in the arts of Yhol-Yin have very high vyrkra reserves, which allows them to perform their more powerful Vyrkra Arts for an extended period of time. They can also temporarily expand their ally’s vyrkra reserves and vyrkra proficiency, allowing them to perform their devastating Vyrkra Arts more often than their bodies can typically permit. Yhol-Yin primarily focus on Terrestrial Arts and will usually be the victors in a one on one match. While Kreygyk Warriors put out a lot more consistent Terrestrial damage, Yhol-Yin are capable of learning Terrestrial techniques that rival the strongest Celestial techniques in terms of power.
Ruuk(Rook) - The "Thief" class of the world. Many more details will be coming soon.
Vuardra(Var-druh) - The "Dragoon" class of the world. Many more details will be coming soon.
Zoh-Gyn(Zo-Gin) - The "Samurai" class of the world. Many more details will be coming soon.
Galvux(Gall-vuhks) - The "Engineer" class of the world. Many more details will be coming soon.
Gaiiamancy(Gaia-mancy) - The "Geomancer" class of the world. Many more details will be coming soon.
This list will be expounded upon as time progresses so check back frequently.
