Looking through the window, Dimitry, gazed at the sky. Weather was particularly gloomy today, or was it always received like that through his dead fish eyes.
“Houuu…” he sighed. Mondays do suck. Focusing his eyes at front of classroom, he saw his teacher.
“Now, principle to write good poem is to give meaning to it. Don’t write just random words that rhyme, tell emotions that you want to express!” teacher was talking to class.
‘Now why does everyone look so young and small, or is it just me being tall, probably…’ he thought in his mind.
Dimitry was first year student in college; at the age of 20 he seemed oldest in class.
“Haaa-aa…..” he sighed again, how I wish everything would just disappeared and ended. Meteor would be nice and it would light up this monotone world a little. Deep in his thoughts he was interrupted by two classmates talking to each other, looking at them he wondered when was last time he talked to someone.
‘Was it in college orientation, …forgot, ha how I wish to jump from this window, wait why I’m even here….Ah right I can’s skip more days, tuition will be cancelled and I will be homeless.’ Once again he dived into his thoughts. He was born to somewhat wealthy family, Mather singer and father businessmen, but that seemed like century ago for Dimitry.
“Seems like you are thinking deeply about what I’m saying aren’t you Dimitry Nem..-zir.~k.eee…” said teacher trying to sound sarcastic, but not till the end when he started to pronounce last name.
“And you are still butchering my last name as always,” retorted exhaustively Dimitry. Not blaming teacher, as no one till this day have pronounced his last name right. His full name was Dimitry Nemyzirke, his first name Dimitry came from his mother father who was Russian, but last name was something that his parents came up with so he had unique name, he still could not understand why they did it.
“Why don’t you show us an example of poem, with all elements that I have talked about,” said teacher.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
Wait there was…… emotion and ….something….. thought Dimitry standing up from his chair. Everyone became quite in class and Dimitry looked at everyone and thought, I do hate people.
“ Oh gloomy weather,
Oh gloomy sky,
Why don’t you move to a side!
Let this meteor strike,
And, end, this endless suffering of mine!”
Said Dimitry, and everyone looked at him not saying anything.
“That certainly seems from your heart….”said teacher. “ haaa… I remember reading your college admission essay, what was it titled; ‘Why humans are worst that has happened to this planet’ it made quite commotion between teachers and others. Some even recommended making you see psychiatrist, but speaking technically your essay was beyond excellent and your math placement was through the roof also, so you were accepted as potential genius. But why are you so Cynical…. “ expressed teacher, talking to Dimitry who seemed to not even bother acknowledge what teacher was saying, It seemed like teacher was talking to empty shell with no emotion.
Different perspective - Astronomical observatory
“Chief, something is not right, it changed trajectory!” yelled man in his 40 wearing white lab coat.
Looking at screen chief was in disbelieve.
“How is that possible!?! Are you sure it’s not machine malfunction!” yelled back Chief.
“No sir, it’s not machine!” exclaimed man in white lab coat.
“…..Holly…GODS….have mercy….” weakly mumbled chief.
Back to normal perspective- Classroom
light started to increase and started to illuminate classroom as everyone looked outside at the sky. Fire roared in sky as it was falling down, shock was visible on everyone face, except Dimitrys’ who silently looked at sky and for first time in many years, slightly smiled.
‘Oh… meteor so you are, falling down, you are quite generous to fulfill my fish’ thought Dimitry as he looked at sky by window while everyone was running in panic, trampling anyone who was in their way.
