It was the year of 1932 , a german scientist discovered a way to gather the energy of crystals , common to all parts of the planet. He made his discovery public and soon every nation had begun to devolep technology based on them. Fantastic gadgets made we jump into the future ,easy and cheap to make and very efficient. The world was at peace for the next 6 years , but it was then in 1939 that Germany became blind by their thirst for more crystals and one country had the most amount of it , Russia. They were a peaceful farming people and lived each day as any other. In 1940 the germans announced they had developed a weapon capable of bursting every crystal in the planet and they would use it if Russia would not give them the crystals. Many countries allied themselfs with Russia and declared war against Germany.
The War begun in September the 1st , 1940 and lasted more than five years. On the last days of the war , Germany was cornered and their defeat was iminent. On a desperate act they launched their secret weapon that struck Russia's Egg Crystal , a massive crystal that dwarfed any mountains with a titanic height of over 9km. The weapon would make the crystal overcharge and release all of its enery inside earth's crust. The detonation affected the whole world and bursting crystals and earthquakes shattered both land and sky , roughly 63% of mankind was exterminated in a single day. A few places in every country were relatively unnafected and were known as safe-zones. The following days germany was officialy surrendered and their country was disolved. The surviving humans and nations formed the Aurora Federation and a official reset to the calendar were made the next year and was known as Nova Veluti Aurora.

The following years we searched for survivors on the afflicted zones , it was a hopeless effort but nonetheless we tried. Strangely , we could only find children among the ruins , and the very few survivors were taken to a specially built facility where they could live freely. Among these kids there were a baby , found under his dead mother who held on all fours to shield him, she had a left a touching message: "Nicolas , my child, Sorry for not beeing present on your life , i hope that you grow big and strong and find someone who loves you. All i can give you is this note but know that i love you". The soldiers who found him could'nt believe what they saw and were touched by his mothers message. The director of the facility took upon himself to raise him and would honor his mother by keeping his name , Nicolas.
Nicolas spent 18 years living there with all sorts of people , he was from russian offspring with blue-gray eyes and dark blonde hair , he stood tall at 1,85mt and had a fit but slender figure. Highly intelligent and observer , he studied many martial arts and weapons while there. Because of his origins , many germans wanted him dead and made sure he would have a harsh time there. That hate towards him made he even more resolute in surviving there until he could leave. On his 18th birthday he earned the right to leave , the Director heart-broken considered him his son , but was happy that he grew to be a decided man. With a warm goodbye and a few gifts for him , he let Nicolas go.
He set sail to a small island on the coast of Italy were he would begin his new life , though at the time he couldn't image what fate awaited him there.
