[ Chapter 4 ] First Job

Anathea takes a deep breath as she moves back into the main hall of the Adventurers Guild. She looks at her card and then back up glancing around the room. She thinks to herself as she moves towards the jobs available on the job board. She tries to hide her hunger as much as possible.

[ Anathea ] ¨Hmm, help the farmers, collecting herbs, rescuing a cat…¨ She sighs ¨What job to do? I don´t want to do something small.¨

As Anathea is looking at the board filled with jobs, a man comes behind her tapping her shoulder. He is a man probably only 17 with simple looks and brown hair. In basic leather protection and a simple steel sword.

[ Young Adventurer ] ¨Hey lady, would you like to consider joining our group? You seem rather new just like us. It´s me with 2 other of my friends. I´m Pin.¨

Anathea is taken slightly aback at the sudden proposal, she thinks for a bit before giving her answer.

[ Pin ] ¨So, what do you say!¨ He says in an energetic and pleading voice

[ Anathea ] ¨Sure, I´ll join you guys.¨

Pin almost jumps up in excitement but he simply clenches his fist with a smile.

[ Pin ] ¨Thank you, I am sure you´ll get along well with us. C´mon, let´s go and see the others.¨

Pin walks away towards his group. Anathea follows shortly towards Pin. Pin reaches his 2 other friends. They are both guys around the same age as him—one with a bow and the other with a mace and shield.

[ Pin ] Points at the one with the bow ¨That is Len.¨ He then points at the one with the mace ¨And that is Ien.¨

They both greet Anathea.

[ Anathea ] ¨Nice to meet you guys. I assume you are all friends?¨

Pin nods at Anathea.

[ Pin ] ¨Yeah, the three of us have been friends since childhood, all dreaming of becoming strong together.¨

Pin hugs Len and Ien on the shoulders of both sides. Pin gives a smile.

[ Anathea ] ¨Do you have a mission we´ll go on?¨

Pin looks over to Anathea, taking out a paper of the job

[ Pin ] ¨I do, the job I got for us is slaying the goblin nest in the mountain trail and saving the kidnapped.¨

Anathea looks at the details and rewards. It rewards about 3 silver coins and 30 bronze coins. Anathea looks at the recommended amount of people. It reads 5 people of Orange rank.

[ Anathea ] ¨Five people… we only have four. What are your Will colors?¨

Pin answers while pointing at Len and Ien.

[ Pin ] ¨I´m Orange along with Len and Ien. We are all Orange rank.¨

Anathea thinks for a short period.

[ Anathea ] ¨When are we doing this job?¨

[ Pin ] ¨We are doing it today, in 1 hour.¨

Anathea's eyes go a bit surprised.

[ Anathea ] ¨One hour to find another another teammate.¨

[ Pin ] ¨C´mon the four of us could do it. Besides the three of us have handled a few goblin slaying quests. They are feeble. But, I guess it does say 5 people so let's try and look for another.¨

As soon as Pin finished that sentence a girl got up from her table walking over to Pin and Anathea. She has neck-length blue hair in a ponytail, orange eyes, a leather crop top, minor light steel armor around her body, gloves, and leggings with straps. She looks to be around 18-20 years old. She has a rather lean and decently built physique.

[Blue-haired woman ] ¨Eto, can I join? I heard your conversation, would it be okay if also became a part of the group? I´m Hearts. Hearts Blue.¨

Her voice is on the higher side along with having a friendly and nice aura around her.

[ Pin ] ¨Hell yeah! Sure, welcome to the group. What is your Will color?¨

[ Hearts ] ¨My Will color is Green.¨

Anathea looks at Hearts.

[ Anathea ] ¨Oh, we are both the same WIll color.¨

[ Pin ] ¨Oh yeah, I didn´t get your color Anathea. But it means we have 2 green ranks in our party. Alright! I think we should go now! We don´t need to wait.¨

[ Anathea ] ¨I am fine with it, but what about you Hearts?¨

Hearts nods looking at all the party members

[ Hearts ] ¨I´m ready, let me just get my items.¨

Hearts returns to her seat, grabs her supplies, and returns within seconds. With all five of them there they make their way out of the Guild. They walk out of the city. As they leave the city and begin walking into the mountain path. Anathea's stomach growls loudly as they walk. Anathea´s face starts to flush up as she covers her face with her staff and hat.

[ Anathea ] ¨S-sorry, I haven´t eaten in a while, I don´t have any money. D-don´t mind me.¨

They all laugh then Hearts digs into her bag taking out bread. Pin also digs in his bag taking out a waterskin that's water-filled.

[ Hearts ] ¨Here, it´s bread with a fruit paste inside. Eat, can´t have one of our members having no energy.¨

Anathea's eyes light up as she looks at the food. A small drool comes from her mouth as it slowly opens. Anathea takes the bread and waterskin. She takes a bite out of the bread. Anathea´s eyes begin to water a bit as they seem to glimmer with satisfaction.

[ Anathea ] ¨Hywah! It´s so good… I was so hungry.¨

Within seconds of Anathea eating the fruit-filled bread it was gone, she took a big gulp of the water in the waterskin.

[ Anathea ] ¨Puhuawh! Thank you guys so much. I´ll make sure to repay you guys.¨

[ Hearts ] ¨No need to. That bread was only 3 bronze coins. You don´t have to pay me back.¨

[ Pin ] ¨Yeah, I got that water for free. So, no need to worry for us.¨

Anathea gives a light smile looking down at the ground.

[ Anathea ] In a soft tone ¨Thank you, I appreciate that.¨

The five of them walk more toward the location of the goblin cave they begin to see the cave.

[ Anathea ] ¨That seems to be the location. Are you guys ready?¨

Pin, Ien, and Hearts take the lead into the cave, while Anathea and Len stay on the back side of the advancement.
