Before time and space even existed, one entity was there. Call it God, the Creator, or whatever, it doesn’t really matter, because it doesn’t exist anymore. It died, leaving its legacy in the hands of its 3 children.
Adam received omniscience, gifting him with a wisdom beyond imagination.
Eve received omnipotence, placing her as the leader, and world safe keeper.
As for the last one, she was gifted with the most important task of all. Supplying energy to the world, and thus, is now referred as the Source.
Ultimately, their purpose is to keep the Game going. To assure that rules are followed and that new Questers don’t disturb the very existence of the worlds.
The very purpose of this Game was unknown to the Creator's children, but it does have one, that for certain. However, after billions of years, even the certitude of Godly beings can erode and fade away. That's why their behaviour changed. They started to show themselves to players, even interacting with them directly.
But most importantly…”
“Hum… who are you?”
In the middle of a dark alley street, as a couple of stereotypical drunkards were lying down on the paved street, a gorgeous young blond woman was holding another one of her assailants by the neck, with his feet 2 inches above the ground. Such a force was shocking for such a thin body, even though her sleeveless shirt let her right mechanic arm in plain sight, with rows of clockworks randomly spinning on its surface, giving the whole situation a relative credibility: this girl was definitely not a normal person.
However, she was at lost for word looking at the arriving third party, in this shit hole of an alley. To be more precise, it was a man, wearing a suit and a top hat. A black mask was covering his eyes and his smile the other half of his face.
“Oh, sorry, I was rude. I forgot that we will not have introduced ourself yet. Hi Marie, I am Adam.”
“…”
Loosening her grips, she let the fat drunk man fell on his butt, without diverting her eyes from the man in a suit. She had no perfect memory like Alice or Naomi, but she remembered quite well what Sam told her about this man.
Supposedly, he was his cheated version, with the power to see and know everything. Plus, he did introduce himself during his weird monologue…
"Yeah, I know, you've heard of me already. Usually, I don't show myself in person, but this will take some time, so it was actually easier to come."
“Why…”
“What a silly question. Am I here because I saw my future self coming? Or did I decide to come by myself and happened to see it beforehand? Even I don’t know the answer, so don’t bother thinking about it.”
“I…”
"I know, I know. But it's not like I'm asking anything out of you. I'm just here to give you infos. About the world and all that stuff. Pretty sweet intro by the way, right? Wink wink."
“…”
“HOLY! How rude of you! I can’t believe you were about to say that!”
“This is getting stupid…”
“I’m just messing with you. Let’s get into a bar, it’s pretty cold out there.”
“I’m not cold.”
“Are you sure?”
“I… I have no idea why I’m actually having a conversation with you. I should probably go.”
“You won’t be able to get Prom out of prison without me, you know?”
“I… how did you…?”
“Are you really asking that?”
“Sigh… fine. What do you want to tell me.”
“It’ll take some time, come on. There a good bar down the street.”
Thus, leaving the half-dozen of people lying down unconscious on the paved street, Marie followed Adam outside the alley. Obviously, she was suspicious, but didn't have much of a choice. From their short exchange, she realized it was likely that he did have omniscient-like powers. And he was right, even though she hates asking for help, she didn't see herself freeing Prometheus on her own.
The struggle she was currently in was an easy one, so she thought about her problem, and quickly realize how much of a fool she was.
She knows how prideful she is, but doesn't see it as an issue, as long as she doesn't overestimate her own abilities. That's why she doesn't mind giving up if the task is too hard, or at least postpone it.
In fact, she did give up on many things since the adventure started. She gave up messing up with time, she postponed creating artificial intelligence, and she gave up creating her own doors.
But now, she put herself in a situation where she has to do it, and where failure would mean betraying Prometheus. And if it were to happen, she would never forgive herself.
She would actually prefer to die.
After a few days of failure, she decided to finish the objective, and her she is, following a shading all knowing man in a shady street to get into a shady bar and hear shady explanations.
What is the worst that could happen?

The Game takes place across 5 worlds, the first one representing the element of water, with the purpose of teaching the basics of the Quest to newcomers. The second represents earth. The real challenges start here, and is the most common world for sessions to fail.
This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
This concentration of people from another world fastened its progress, thus giving birth to groundbreaking technologies. Multiple cities were built and have flourished thanks to the rise of these discoveries.
However, not every places have been blessed with luck, and as the Flux could give birth to wonderful miracles, it could also create monsters and catastrophe science could never hope to prevent.
More than a thousand years ago, an immortal decided to step on what used to be the greatest city in the country. The local militia tried everything to stop him, without success. Thus the city met its downfall, and up to this day, no one tried to move back in.
Until several days ago. Where a lonely person went back, to his hometown.
Even more recently, a second person arrived, for a whole different reason. Eventually, they met each other, and right now they are…
Sparing?
Fighting?
Whatever it was, it was one-sided. On the receiving hand was a young white-hair man with his eyes closed and a muscular upper body deprived of any clothing.
The other person had also white hair, and was also young. Of course, it was Sam.
Displaying an intense level of concentration, his pupils were vibrating right and left as his limbs were madly striking random part of his opponent’s body.
The whole exchange lasted less than a minute, before blood suddenly spurted from Sam's nose.
It didn't stop Sam, but the half-naked man in front of him noticed, and jumped back, ending the session.
“I think that’s enough.”
“What? I… wow… I’m fine! Come one, Matthiew. We’re only… holy…”
“See? Don’t overuse your brain. Trust me, it’s better to take it slow.”
“But… I’m finally making progress! I can feel it! I just need a bit more, and I’ll get my Foresight back!”
“Or you’ll become blind.”
“…sigh… okay. Let’s end there for today.”
It has already been a week since Sam arrived in the abandoned city and met with Matthiew.
As mentioned before, this city was single-handedly destroyed by an immortal, seemingly looking for a way to kill time. However, as Sam thought he saw him kill a young soldier with a bullet in the head, he met with the said soldier a few minutes later.
For some reason, he didn’t die from the bullet. Instead, he woke up a few days after, and found the corpse of his supposed killer in front of him.
After a while, he realized not only did he survived a bullet, he also became unable to die. It wasn't hard to confirm, especially since he spent half a century trying to commit suicide, but it was actually Sam who confirmed it.

Needless to say, Sam’s struggle was up to a rough start.
----------------------------------------
“Wait wait wait… those worlds you’re talking about. Are those planet, or something like that?”
"Not exactly, but it works the same way. So… back where I was… oh yeah. Last, but not least, the fifth world! This one is different from the other, and is not much bigger than a city. It's where Questers end up and become guides."
"Hold on. Will told me he finished his Quest. But you're telling me the end line is to become a guide? I thought you would come back to your world after ‘winning'."
“Haha, it’s more complicated than that. And it doesn’t really matter to you anyway. I know what you want, what you will be able to do, and discovering the meaning of the Quest is not on the list.”
“…then tell me. How do I…”
"Not yet. First, I need to teach you a bit about the overall system. Naomi is getting a head start and… well, let's just say you won't see her for a while, so it's for the best to split the knowledge in your group."
“Wait, what’s the deal with Naomi?”
“She’s with Eve right now. And they had a loooooong discussion. Wait, are having? Will…? Anyway, she’ll be a bit unstable for a while, it would be advised to have someone to understand what she’ll be fussing about.”
“Something is happening to her?!”
“No, she’s just… learning.”
“You… are so messed up. I…”
“Trust me! It’s for the best. Probably.”
Marie's guts were on Adam's side, for an unknown reason, while, the rest of her body and mind was screaming to just punch the guy and run away. Nonetheless, from what Sam told her, it was likely that everything he said was true, and that he was truly omniscient or close to it. It was her best chance to help Prom, and to prepare for what will happen.
Thus, she swallowed her pride.
“… I’m listening.”
“Great, we will go in the same order than Eve. First question: is it possible to divert from a Seer’s prediction?”
