Goodnight Remi part 2

Goodnight Remi part 2

The Writing Club was set to meet in a small classroom after school, the classroom in question was pushed away in a corner of the building where few students ventured by. The reason being, it was too faraway from both the cafeteria and main classrooms. Thus, this room became the perfect quite spot for the club's discussion.

Quietly slipping inside, Remi took a seat at the back of the room. Other members were already present, chatting excitedly while Lily was just there sitting quietly, listening to the member discussing.

Turning her eyes, she saw Remi sitting in the far corner. "Hey what are you doing sitting there all alone, we're just about to start," exclaimed Lily, her eyes sparkling with joy, "Come sit near me."

Another member noticing Remi's presence waved her hands asking, "Did you bring anything to share today?"

Remi shook her head, feeling a flush of embarrassment creep up her neck. "I.... I couldn't think of anything." She admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.

The members frowned a bit, concern and empathy flashing in their eyes.

"Don't worry about it. After all we are here to help each other, remember?" One of the member interjected, his voice filled with kindness.

"Yeah! If you have any problem you can refer it to me." Lily emphasized, clasping her hands tightly.

Remi was relieved by the words of kindness, but it was hard for her to shake off the feeling of uselessness.

As one by one every member started to recite their weekly story they wrote. She couldn't help but notice, each week they got better and better, every week each member recited a story with Lily and Remi being the only exception. And if this trend continues on, how could she ever measure up to them?

:1 year ago:

:Year 2 of joining the Writing Club:

"Mom, can you read this new story I wrote?" A growing girl around the age of 12 showed her newest creation, a new story she bore, to her ever supportive mother.

Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on the original website.

The only difference being, her reaction to the request.

"Umm... Remi," Her mother said softly, "Don't you think you should focus on more girly habits, I think you should focus on more practical things."

The statement, though had good implication, broke something inside the young girl.

She couldn't understand why there was a sudden shift in her mother's attitude, but that was not the end of the spiral.

Her relatives started to complain about her un-girlyness, they talked behind her back to her mother, how ungirly she is. She should take care of her looks. Girls should have girly hobbies. A good girl must help her mother in her house chores all the time instead of writing useless stories with a crouched back. Writing is no career option. What do you expect after becoming a writer? Dream of a real job instead of running after some fantasies.

Remi was confused..... What went wrong? Why are they mocking me? Why...........?

But, she wasn't disheartened. She worked hard to improve her handwriting and her storytelling, so that she could win the first prize in the seasonal short story writing contest.

Yeah, she would surely win as this time the gerne was "comedy".

1st Lily Spielberg.

2nd Remi Cros.

3rd ............................

....................................

The children of the class were the one to vote which story was better then the other.

"Well, Remi's story was funny, but Lily's story was soo smooth and it had better story too." A guy from the next bench exclaimed.

"What are you saying? Comparing Lily's work with Remi's is like comparison of a story written by a child with that of a well published author." Another person interjected. And like that many people started to praise Lily's work.

Where did it all went wrong? I was sure I could easily surpass anyone in my class if the genre was comedy. Who is Lily?

"Oh, Lily she is the temporary transferred student from the next state, well, since there was a civil war going on in that place many students temporarily transferred to this school. Its not a suprise you didn't know her." The class teacher answered Remi with sincerity.

"Uhh, teacher. I know that the participants were not allowed to read the magazine, but since the results are already out can I take a look?" Remi requested, her thoughts revolving around what kind of story the transferred student wrote.

"Sure." The teacher replied handing her a copy of the school magazine.

As Remi skimmed through the story she felt like reading more and more, the story even though had a limited number of words allowed, was so fascinating. The twist was even more funny then her story. Slowly Remi looked back on the twist of her story, and felt a sudden surge of embarrassment.

[Spitting a mouthfull of blood on the floor, the courageous man grunted. "You have become far more powerful since the last time we met."

The other man in white coat, pinching the bridge of his nose complained. "Sir please. For the sake of hygiene, don't repeat this again, there is a sink right next to you."

Thats how the courageous man removed his gross teeth with cavity. Ew]

Yeah, this was the final paragraph of the story that Remi wrote. What once was a pride, now felt like a slander to her.
