Part-I
“This should do... wait I should loose up my tie a bit, I don’t want to look like an honours student. The Shirt.... yeah should probably untuck it”- I said to myself as I opened up the top button of my shirt and loosened my tie a bit. I was done with my uniform.Well today is my first day at the academy. I’m kind of nervous to be honest. I will be meeting so many new people, and I will have to talk to them too, which I’m not really good at. Well, ever since I came to this world, this is the first time I’m going to under a proper institution to learn something. But the difference is that in this world people have mana, which is basically nothing but magical energy inside a living being. And those who opt for this academy, their primary goal is to polish their magical skills as well as their other skills such as fighting, or one’s ability to cope with knowledge and studies. In simpler tone, it’s a school with kids who know magic. Well I’m repeating the word magic quite a lot because for a normal human like me, in my previous world there was nothing as magic but here I’m getting to experience something new, to be fair something you expect in TV shows or manga. Well, but my luck turns out that I don’t have magic and can’t use it. I don’t have mana in me, even so I got reincarnated in this world, I’m still a normal person with no magic what so ever. Now don’t think that not being able to use magic is a bad thing but in this world everyone has mana. But I on other hand seem to lack it. It’s been 5 years since I came to this world, I learned about magic from books and observing others. I looked at all sorts of magic, from people putting out a fire with water from their hands to people healing someone’s injured arm with their magic. People here use magic in everyday chores to obviously make it easier of them. But since I have no magic, I will be lying if I said that I don’t care about it or don’t want it. But I don’t have it so there’s not much that can be done about it. I just accepted my lifestyle and kept going forward for these last few years. Well enough time I wasted talking to myself, I don’t want to be late for the academy at first day only. I packed my backpack with everything I considered would be required. I put on my jacket, checked the time on my watch.
“Ok, I’m ready to go”, I said to myself.
I was locking my door when I remembered I forgot to put on my gloves. I went inside near to the night stand beside my bed, opened the first drawer the shuffled through the mess inside it. I got my gloves, now I’m ready to go.
I was walking towards my academy, sipping the Choco milk I got from the Vending machine beneath my apartment. I love Choco milk, it’s so tasty, anyways so as I was walking towards to my academy, I noticed a lot of people were also going in that direction, they were students like me I guessed. Since they all were wearing the same uniform as me. White Shirt, black tie, black pants or skirts and the red jacket. I kept walking while looking at different group of students, talking to each other and laughing. I always get confused that how some people are so good at socializing. And the fact that they haven’t even known each other yet because there hasn’t been an introduction properly because of course today’s the first day. If you tell me to talk to me someone I don’t know, I would probably screw it up in the lamest way possible. As I was walking I noticed different students showing their magical powers to each other. I’m jealous, not gonna lie. Why did I remain a normal person in this world too!? Man, fuck my life.
Well, I’m pretty lucky though that I got chance in an academy whose primary requirement is to have magical powers. Well if it wasn’t for my other parameters, where I managed to get a pretty average score in the Entrance Exam, I would’ve blew this chance. But this world and my previous world is similar in some contexts, like having to give an entrance to enter an elite institute. But I’m still pretty amazed on the fact that I got past the exam.
As I was nearing the campus of this academy, I was slowly realizing how big the campus this. I was looking at the main building which was pretty fancy looking, as I got bumped into someone. The pack of choco milk fell from my hand. Noooo.
“Um, Sorry are you Okay?”- asked the other person.
I looked at him with my sleepy eyes. He was tall dude with blonde hair and really cheerful vibe. He was wearing his jacket all buttoned up and his tie was also tightened to his neck. He seemed like an honours student.I replied, “Looks like I’m fine. Thanks for asking.”
I said that much and tried to walk away, indicating that I don’t want to talk anymore. I noticed that dude started walking behind me.
“Well, hello I’m Kyonagi Mirata”, he said in a confident voice.
Shit I will now have to talk with this dude. Ok I got this.
“I’m Suimei Suki, nice to meet you.”, I replied
“Well Suimei-san, we should hurry, the Orientation will start soon.”, he said.
Orientation, that means he is a first year too.
“Yeah, we should get moving.”, I replied, and then asked him, “Wait, you’re a first year too? You said Orientation right?”
“Yes dude, I’m pretty excited and nervous at the same time.”- he said.
“Yeah, me too. It’s normal I guess.”- I said while nodding.
I finally reach the main building, on my way there I realized that the campus was fucking huge, it’s almost like they have a small city inside this campus. I was pretty amazed. I was waiting for the Orientation to begin with Kyonagi-san. The dude who I bumped into. Seemed like a chill person to talk to. He was already talking with a lot of other people in the waiting area. He seems to have easy to go around personality. People like him are easy to be friends with. I was standing their while observing others, when I saw some approaching me in my peripheral vision.
I looked at them; it was a girl with short black hair, tied in a side pony tail tied with a red hair band. Seemed like she wore that hair band to match the colour of our red jacket. She had a really outgoing energy about herself.
“Aren’t you that guy.... wait what was your name....??”, she said while rubbing the bottom of her chin.
Well she didn’t who I was she shouldn’t have approached me in the first place. Or wait... do conversation work like this? Maybe I am wrong. I was looking at her, I noticed a smile on her face as she said, “Yeah Suki, I remember... you’re that dud-“ she got cut mid sentence as Kyonagi called me out since the Orientation was starting. I gestured him to wait.
“Well I gotta go, we’ll talk about it someday if we meet again.” I said even I hope I don’t meet her again. I walked toward Kyonagi and saw him giving me those slanted looks. Now I may not be good at conversations, but I do understand what that means.
Mirata was about to say something, as I noticed the mischievous smile on his face. I replied with an Instant “NO.” He laughed a bit and asked me what I was talking to that girl about. To which I replied that I don’t know since our conversation got ended in the middle.
Part-II
We entered the hall, where the Orientation was gonna happen. It was a huge hall, with lot ofAir vents. Of course a room of this scale with the capacity to hold like 400-500 people would need a good amount of ventilation. I sat somewhere in the middle with Kyonagi next to me. In front of me, few rows prior, I can see that black haired girl looking at the back rows. Probably looking for me, I thought. But it was a bold statement since I have never been popular among girls.
Anyways, the Orientation finally started after a long wait. The lights in the Hall got dim and the mic made sound of resonance at someone came up to the mic and said “Welcome to ImperialAcademy of Nurture and Advanced Magic , also known IANAM. I’m Mr. Walesford, the 12thPrincipal here.” He was tall man with broad shoulders and thick blonde hair. He was a white shirt with rolled sleeves which showed his muscular forearms. He had an intimidating vibe about him.
Everyone clapped for his introduction, while I was thinking that “That’s a pretty British name for someone who is a principal in a Japanese academy.”
He continued, “I know that students from all years are here. The first years are here because this Orientation is for them, and the second and third years are here to knowthembetter and guide them properly as responsible seniors. So for my dear first years, this program is basically an introduction of our system to you. Let me begin by saying that Congratulations to all of you sitting here for clearing the entrance exam of this academy. We hope to see the same level of dedication and hard work from you, now that you’re in IANAM. Now I’m sure many of you already know but let me clear it up again, this academy is not for making your magical powers strong, but also to make you strong as a person. Your personality, it should be that of someone who has been worthy enough to be in IANA.This institute offers every facility that is needed for a student to nurture into a strong person and a better person. Everything regarding your course, and the facilities provided by this institute will be explained to you by your Teachers, who will introduce themselves in just a moment. First I would like to invite our Student Council President, HayatoShaishofrom Class 3-A to come up here and have a few words with our new recruits.”, with that Mr.Walesford finally ended this part of the Orientation.
A boy emerged from the back of the stage with a short girl following him with a bunch on files in her hand. The boy was really tall, like he was taller than the principal. He had soft black hair and he was wearing spectacles. The girl with him was fairly shorter thanhim and had pinkish blonde hair, which she had in braids. He came up on the podium and cleared his throat. The girl handed over a script to him. He looked over to us, as if he was staring at all of us in the eye. This man had a level of confidence that I’m seeing first time in my life coming from someone who’s in Highschool only.
“I, Hayato Shaisho as the representative for senior classes and the student council would like to greet Good morning to all the respectful member of authority present here on this occasion as well as the first years and my other fellow comrades.”- He said in his deep voice and took a small pause while glancing over the audience. He continued,“As Mr. Walesford already said that this institute helps you in being a better version of yourself. But don’t think that just because you enrolled here, you would just become someone better. It’s all up to your effort and hard work that will result you in becoming someone that your past self could look up to and be proud of. Always aim to become the best not better. But one should be aware of their own abilities too. Because ‘Ignorance is a bliss.’ I won’t take any further time of you and would like to conclude myself by saying that make sure you make most of it while here in IANA, and don’t have any Regrets later. Good luck First years.”- with that he ended his speech, and there was a round of applause for him. If I were to be honest with you, I was lowkey impressed by our Student council president. The amount confidence he had was immeasurable, but I was sure that he doesn’t think highly of himself because that would just mean that he was an arrogant person. I could hear some of the girls whispering, as they were talking about him.
“Suimei-san, Hayato senpai is so cool, isn’t he?”- Kyonagi asked me to which I replied with “Yeah, he is.”
“He must be popular among girls.”- I said.
“Yeah, lucky him”- Kyonagi replied.
“Says someone as good looking as you.”- I said jokingly.
“Says someone who was talking to a girl on his first day.”- He replied joking. We chuckled a bit.
Now it was time for our teachers to introduce themselves. By our teachers, it was pretty clear that the four teachers standing on the stage were the homeroom teachers of the four respective classes in first year. As each teacher introduced themselves, it seemed like our homeroom teacher was a young woman named Shizuka Sae. She had long brownish hair tied in a pony tail and she was really pretty.
The Orientation was over in an hour only. One thing I understood that this School isn’t like schools back in my world. Well of course I have already done some research about this school on my part too, but then there are some things that you’ll only know once you get inside that system. The hall was again filled with light and everyone was getting up and moving to their respective classes. Kyonagi gestured me to follow him. Our Classes were in the other building. There was a lot of noise around me as people were chattering with each other. Of course that was normal; people generally talk a lot after any big event, rejoicing over the details and occurrences. And for first year high school students what can be more exciting than an orientation program in their new school.
We finally reached our classroom. As I entered I noticed a lot of my classmates were already there. I began searching for a seat, and found one in the end corner of the class beside a window. I saw a lot of our classmates were talking with each other in groups, some were busy in their playing with magic, some were sleeping. Altogether, everyone was doing a wide variety of things. I was also having different thoughts about this school. Like the size of this campus huge. Despite being government funded, the size of the campus unbelievable. Also what was so special about this school? I mean I’ve heard of students who graduate from IANAM are really good, like you can’t compare them to normal students. But why is that so? I was a bit curious. Also I’ve heard that people who graduate from here get jobs easily such as high ranking government jobs or Military.
Well the things I’m most amazed about is that this world isn’t much technologically behind since they make things with magic rather than science. But to apply magic correctly you have to know the science behind how that thing works. Like they have vending machines in this world which works almost like how it worked in my previous man. They also mobiles but the integrated circuits in the mobiles are designed such that people are charge it up their magic mana and it runs on electrical magic. This world is like my previous one but with an element of fantasy if I say so. Since they have magical items and to fight people use weapons ranging from blades to gun to magical items. The main thing I’m trying to say is that magic has a large impact on this world. Also the town I used to live in two years ago was attacked by a group of creatures and it got perished. I was probably the only person who survived that attack. From that incident I got to know that creatures other than humans also have magic in them. They looked like flying boars, people call itChurlhere and they burned my whole town. The town which I live in right now looks like a town from medieval time. The building’s architecture reminds of 18thcentury London during industrialization period.
Part-III
I was gazing outside the window, the door of our classroom opened and our homeroom teacher came walking in towards her teacher’s table. She was carrying a small box in hand which she placed on the table and turned towards us. Now that I had closer look on her face, she had a really unpredictable face. Kyonagi stood up to greet her but she gestured him to sit down implying there was no need of doing that.
“ I’m Shizuka Sae, as have already know since I introduced myself in the orientation. I’m going to first tell you about this school and then I’m going to get you familiar with the rules you have to follow here. First thing is that you’re all going to live in dorms for the duration you’ll be staying in this school.”- she said while looking at all of us for affirmation.
“Ok Mam!”- some of the students said. She continued, “ So,first I’ll be handing over these rule handbook to you lot. Read it along side me explaining the rules to you. You’ll understand them more quickly that way.” She handed over a bunch of the books to person sitting in front so that they pass it.
I was waiting for mine, as I felt Miss Sae’s gazes over me. I looked towards her and made an eye contact for a split second, as the person sitting in front me passed me the handbook.
Imperial Academy of Nurture and Advanced Magic (IANAM) rules and regulations.
If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.
1. Students will have to stay in dorms while their time in this school. Students can’t leave the campus unless it’s for a special event. To leave campus on special requirements, the student in question have to get a permit from their respective homeroom teacher or the student council president at that time.
So that’s what she meant by staying in dorms. I was going over the rules, there was faint noise of students reading the rules and discussing it with each other. One rule stood out oddly.
7. In this school system, students are evaluated on basis of the parameters; academics, sports, magic, critical thinking. On basis of these four parameters students will be evaluated.
That was rather interesting. Another rule was really weird.
8. Students can gain points....
As I was reading it someone asked
“ Sensei, what does rule 7 and 8 mean? Can you explain them please.”- said a boy with short blond hair who was sitting in the front of the row beside me.
“ Yes Raiden-kun.” She replied to the boy who asked the question. His name was Raiden.
“ I was waiting for you to read some of the rules before I can resume my explanation. So what rule 7 means is that, You guys did the entrance exam right? I’m pretty sure you would’ve noticed that it wasn’t a normal entrance exam consisting of academic questions.”- She replied with a question towards us.
“Yeah, Sensei. The exam did scored our Magic and physical abilities too.”- Kyonagi answered.
“Yes, absolutely. So in this school the exams won’t be like other schools. Exams you’ll face will take into consideration all the four parameters that is mentioned in the Rule number 7. You’ll get familiar it with in one month. Don’t worry. I hope there isn’t any doubt regarding this?”- she asked.
Of course all of us were confused about it. It was a bit complicated. Like how are they gonna measure my Critical thinking? Well there was an expression of confusion on everyone’s face. But Sae sensei decided to continue onto the next rule.
“ Now about rule 8, this is a bit confusing, make sure you listen to me carefully. Students in this school are awarded with points for completing tasks, like assignment or exams or events. The points awarded for events and exams are transferred immediately into your student profiles. But the points awarded for assignment and following simple rules are added transferred to you on the last day of the month. Now before you ask what’s your student profile, I’ll be distributing your mobile devices to you.” She said while taking out the mobiles and again following same process as she did with the rule handbook.
The fact that this world have smart phones but built on different principles still blows my mind.
“This device is something that you can check your performance on. It’s a really important thing so make sure you don’t lose it.” She made a little pause to check whether all of us got out devices or not and continued.
“Ok now since you people really good with technology, I know you’re probably exploring through this mobile already. You must have got an app called Student Profile, that’s where you can check your performance, grades and how many points you have. Now you have another app called TransP. It’s an app to use your point for transactions.” As she said that there was huge commotion in the class.
“Does that mean we can use our points to buy stuff?” asked a girl instantly. She had dark bluish hair in twin tails. She kinda short in height.
“Exactly what I’m trying to say here, Mizuki-san.”
As she said that, the whole class burst into a mess of chatter. I check my student profile to check how many I had, and it showed
Personal Points: 25000
Class Points: 1000
25000 points? How interesting, though I don’t the value of these points. As I was thinking on my own someone asks.
“What the- it says we have 25000 points. What does this means Sensei?”
“Well, 25000 points is your personal points, Michizu-san. It’s the points you can use to buy anything you want in our campus. And there are some shops out campus but they accept these points for transactions. Also let me inform you that 1 personal point is equal to 1 RYD. So use your personal points very carefully and judiciously.”- as she said that, everyone in class again burst into lot of chatter. Every was shocked at this point.
“This can’t be true”
“What the heck!?”
“Is this even true?”
Now to be honest with you I’m surprised too. 1 personal point is equal to 1 RYD. It’s like saying 1 personal point is equal to 1 dollar. That’s crazy, considering the fact that we are only highschool students. I do understand the fact that it’s one the premier institution in our country. But Holy Shit. But what’s class points then? I decided to ask.
“Sensei, what does class points means?”
“That’s a really good question, Suimei-kun. I’m glad you asked that.”- she said and continue “Class points are points awarded to your class based on the assessment of each student of that class. On basis of Class points, each Class is ranked. And based on your class point, your personal points are awarded.”- she said.
Ok that was a little bit complicated, But it basically means that 1 Class point is equal to 25 Personal Points. So I did understood the calculation but how is it awarded. On what basis? She did said doing Assignment and following rules. But what rules? Also if they are awarded based on assignment, what if a student who isn’t really good studying decides to copy their assignment from an honours student? This system is faulty from this perspective. The more she was explaining the more questions there was popping in my mind.
“Now since we are done with the system and rules, let me tell you facilities you’ll be getting in the campus since you won’t be going outside. You have already noticed how large the campus is, that’s because the campus have student dorms, administration quarters and Teacher dorms too. You’ll get a map of the campus in your Rule Handbook. This campus has Stadium for sports and Stadiums for using magic. There are convenience stores and malls too. Basically all type of luxuries that you can experience outside the campus, is included in this campus.”- she said.
Everyone was really excited, as they were getting free money, a large campus to roam around with malls and all sort of enjoyments. If I said that I’m not looking forward to my highschool life being all luxurious, I will dead ass lying.
“Since I have updated you on everything, I will conclude the homeroom here. From tomorrow, you’ll be having normal classes. Also if you have any other questions, you can contact the school administrators or me. The contact number in your mobile.”-with that she was leaving the class. We all stood up and bowed to her.
After she left, everyone again began talking to each other. Everyone was talking about how this school was so good and like a dream. I decided to hop on mobile and surf through it a more. I opened my student profile, and looked at Grades. It was like
Academics: 69
Sports: 64
Magic: 0
(Magic Affinity: NIL)
Critical thinking: 67
Damn, that Zero magic. So my average score is 50. Interesting. As I was looking through my mobile, Kyonagi decided that we should all do introductions.
“Hello everyone, since we are gonna spend the next three years together, why don’t we introduce ourselves to each others and try to be friends with each other.”- he proposed.
“Yeah seems like a plan.”- one of the girl said.
“Yeah me too”- another one followed.
“I’m in” followed up by another one.
Kyonagi is definitely gonna the Class representative.
“Ok so I will go first. My name is Kyonagi Mirata. My magic Affinity is Electro. I like to play all kind of sports. So if you’re playing you can count me in”- he said while point towards the boys.
“Ayy we got you Mirata.”- said Raiden and his friends with a thumbs up sign.
“Ok next is me. Yuki Chiaki. My only goal is graduate as a topstudent from this institution. I don’t have much to say about me, other than I like to write and draw.”- said a girl with long black, tied with ribbons. She was really pretty to be honest with you. But she had this diplomatic vine about her.
“Wow, that’s so cool.”
“Would you mind showing us your drawings?”
She got different replies, and most them were positive. She replied to those with a smile and a nod. She looked like person with high ideals and confidence.
“Ok, I’m am Kyouko Mona. You can call me Mona though, no need for formalities. My goal is to make a lot of friends in high school and enjoy my high school life. I hope y’all will help me in that.”- she said. She was average heighted girl but what caught my attention was her boobs were really big. That’s something worth paying your attention too not gonna lie.
She’s gonna be famous among the boys and girls too sinceshe was already exchanging mobile numbers with them. What the heck!? That way too extroverted.
“So I’m Yosuke Tenha, I’m looking forward to be with you all for the next three years and know you all better. I’m not good at sports but if you ever need help in studies, feel free to ping me.”- said the next guy. He was the same height as me and wore spectacles and had ginger coloured hair. He looked like someone who would be good at studies.
“I’m Fujiwara Shotō, you can call me Shotō though, my magic affinity is Pyro and my favourite thing to do is play practice combat in my free time.”- said the guy who had long black hairs and an undercut.
“Damn, wanna spar with me?”- asked a girl. She was a brunette with long hairs. She had this look of arrogance on her face. I believe she was pretty powerful in her magic if she can challenge someone to spar like that.
“Ah, Sorry I forgot to introduce myself. I’m Seiyoku Aoi.”
“Well Sure Aoi-chan. If you’re insisting that much, I will spar with you.”- Shotō replied in a flirty way. Damn, man was moving fast.
Aoi smiled back, but there wasn’t something right about smile. It was almost like her smile had a....
“Next is you” Kyouko said while pointing over me.
Ok so it’s me now. Ok I have got this. This is my first step towards making friends in high school. Let’s go Suimei, you have got this. I stood up and looked around me. Everyone was staring at me. It was weird getting stared at by so many people.
“So, umm ... I’m Suimei Suki. Uhh... I don’t have anything that I’m good at. I don’t have any hobbies. Umm.... So like... I’m looking forward to studying with you all.”- with that I sat down and everyone clapped for me. I knew it, I nailed it, but it was one of those clap that people do so that the person doesn’t feels bad. I blew my chance. I looked over Kyonagi and he was getting second hand embarrassment from me.
After that, the introduction carried on for an hour or so.
Part IV
After a long introduction it was finally over. I managed to remember most of the names. It also seems like there are 30 students in each class. But at the end of the day, I blew my chance. Anyways, everyday is a new day for making friends. I will try again tomorrow.Everyone was leaving, I also packed my bag was about to call out Kyonagi so that we can walk home together but I saw he was surrounded by girls. I decided not to call him and went on my own. I went to the washroom. I was looking in the mirror, I swept my dark brown hair sideways otherwise it always fall over my eyes. I looked myself in the eye. I had brown eyes. I look exactly how I used to back in my world. It’s just puberty hit me after I came here. As I was leaving, someone entered the washroom. He was the same height as me but was pretty buff and was holding his jacket in his hands. He had his left ear pierced and had long black hairs. He was giving off those delinquent vibes. We looked at each other and I left the washroom.
“What a weird dude... how is he gonna pee holding his jacket?”- I thought.
I checked the time, it was 4pm already. I decided to drop by the convenience store and buy some of the important things and some food too. Also I wanted to check how this TransP works.
I was walking towards the store, I saw many students from other classes and from other years too. Walking through the streets lit with street lamps, it was almost like a small city within the campus. There were also so many stores in this area. But it’s a pain in the ass that the store is ten minutes away from our dorms. I decided to plug in my earphones and started the music app. It’s boring walking without music.
After a walk of five minutes, I finally reached the store, the first thing I searched for is that do they sell Choco milk here or not? To which I wasn’t disappointed. Ok onto the next important thing.I was walking by the aisle which had daily amenities like Toothbrush, paste and stuff. I turned around the corner to find a classmate of mine.
“Ohh, you surprised me. You’re um... Su- Suimei-kun right?”- she said.
“Ah, nice to meet you Chiaki-san”- I replied.
“So you remember my name? That’s good”
“Seems like so.”- I said, and stood there for a few seconds. I was not good at carrying conversations, which she caught on to quickly.
“I see you’re not very good at socializing.”- she said while smiling.
“Well, I didn’t had much friends from childhood that’s why I didn’t get much exposure to social interactions.”- I replied.
“What are you shopping for?”- she asked.
“Just daily amenities, Toothbrush, Pastes, Shampoos and stuff you know. I guess you’re doing the same too” I said while looking the basket she was holding.
“Yes I am. Seems like you’re good at observing others. Anyways, I’m almost done, let’s walk back home together.”- she said.
“Yeah, sounds like a plan to me.”- I replied. I added, “Also you wanna drink something?”
“Umm.... yeah Iced tea if they have it here.”- she replied. I have her the OK symbol.
Ibought some Toothbrush, paste, Shampoo, some Notebooks, some cup noodles, and of course my precious Choco milk. I was at the cashier, checking out my bill, while Chiaki was waiting outside, fiddling through her mobile.
“Here’s your bill Sir. It’s a total of 560 points”- the cashier said. I opened the TransP app. I have already checked through it, as there was a option of payment by scanning the barcode of the bill. I did the payment and went outside.
“Here’s your Iced Tea, though it’s just cold not iced.”- I said while handing over the can of the drink.
“Ara, thank you Suimei-kun, but there was no need of this.”- she said as she accepted it from my hands. Well I know it wasn’t needed, I just bought her one because it will look bad if we’re walking and I was sipping through my can of Choco milk while talking to her.
We started heading towards the dorms. Most of the walk was quiet but since I was walking with someone, it didn’t felt as boring as before. We were talking from time to time. I decided to start a conversation.
“So what’s you magical affinity?”- I asked.
“Well, it’s Anemo. I mean I can do magic from other elements too, but Anemo is my affinity.”- she replied and added a question of her own. “Well what’s your magic affinity?”
“Well, it’s really lame, but I can’t use magic.”- I replied.
She looked at me in surprise. I responded her surprised expression with a nod of mine.
“That explains why I can’t sense any mana coming from you! I thought your mana is just too low to be sensed but turns out you don’t have any.” – she said.
“Ah, that hurts.”- I said.
“No, sorry I didn’t meant it in that way. Umm, well why is it that you don’t have any mana?”- she asked.
“Well I don’t know, I was born like this. Without mana. Would you mind telling me your magic grade in your student profile?”- I asked politely.
“Yeah no big deal, it’s 98”- she said casually. I was dumbstruck by her score.
“Damn, you’re crazy strong.”- I said. It’s true that time flies by when you are having an interesting conversation with someone. We reached our dorms.
“Aww, we already reached our dorms, well Suimei-kun wanna exchange contacts?”- She asked.
“Of course” YES. Who doesn’t wanna change contacts with cute girl. I thought. As I we were sharing our contacts, I opened my dorm details, and saw that my dorm was G-4. Well here G means the floor number. So my Dorm was on 7th floor.
“So my dorm number is G-4.”- I mumbled.
“Wait G-4? Well mine is F-9. Just a floor below.”- she said. We added each other and then went towards the elevator. She got off a floor before me, we waved goodbye to each other and then I got off on my floor.
I searched for G-4 , it was straight from the elevator. That’s convenient. Now that I was thinking about it, they didn’t gave us any key how are we gonna open this our doors? I decided to check on the dorm app for help. I look at a unlock option in the app. I was holding the phone near the door, and the unlock icon was blinking. I tapped on it.
Please set your four digit pin
The notification box appeared. I set my pin and asked me to put in again for confirmation. Then the door unlocked. Damn this is some use of technology here. Damn, like they are using Wi-Fi here. The fact that this world also has Wi-Fi blows my mind every time. I kept the shopping bag on the table in the middle of the room and laid on my bed. It feels good laying down after a long day.
I looked around the room, and it was perfect size for a single student. There was study table and bed and book shelves. The room was quite clean. Well it was clean, from now on it’s my responsibility to clean it. I just remembered I have buy things like detergent and cleaning solutions from the store too. Anyways, I will buy those tomorrow. Now I should take a bath and eat my Dinner. After that I will go sleep. It’s a tiring day.
End.
