Creating My Character

Part 1

My Name is ???

I opened my eyes to find myself inside a white open space, I felt alive in this world, I grinned as I started started running around, jumping and doing all the things I could not in the past world until a disembodied female voice interrupted me.

"Welcome to Eve Online."

"Eve Online is an VRW, a virtual reality world, of course the thing that differentiates us from others is the fact that we have 99% immersion! Along with our fantasy and sci-fi cross genre we guarantee that you will enjoy this game!"

"Eve Online has over 109 Races that you may pick from, please choose race!"

I was overwhelmed as over 109 variations of me appeared before me, each with their own special characteristics and quirks. I decided that I would give each one huge thought as this was going to be my new world, a world where I can be free...

Two Hours later I was racking my brain as I was stuck between two of my favorite races, to be either a half pure-blood vampire and half blood elf or that to be the destructive race that only wishes for war, the Barbarians...

After much thought I decided to go with the half blood elf/vampire, then a horrible thought occurred to me!!!!! WHAT IF THEY DON'T LET ME HAVE THAT!!?!?!?!?!? NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

"Umm...excuse me miss?"

"Yes?"

"Can I have my character be half pure-blood vampire and half blood elf?"

The disembodied voice was quite for a while (5 minutes) I panicked thinking that was a no until she came back.

"Sure, though I got to say, those are some nice racials you got there, any appearance changes

Before me appeared myself, except that I was around 6'4, had a leaner build but still managed to get an 8 pack, I also had really pointy ears.

"Can you please make my hair longer, a bit longer, that's great! Make it the color of stark white, yes please like that, make my face have a tattoo on the right side and allow me to have blood red eyes pwwweeeeeaaaaassssseeeeee?"

"Sure you can have blood red eyes..."

I think I scared the AI with my infamous way of saying please.

"What would you like your name to be?"

Oh my god! MY NAME! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Think brain Think! The world is set in a Norse setting meaning that there will be Norse gods and such,  I got it! MVAHAHAHAHA BEWARE OF ME FOOLISH MORTALS!

"I would like my name to be Erik Blackrock"

"Name Registered, User Registering Complete, Character Creation Complete, We will now proceed with your racial tutorial, because of your unique race, you will take an extended tutorial?"

A white light enveloped me and I found myself standing in a grassy field in the body of my character, a weapon rack appeared in front me.

"Please choose your weapon."

I took the sword that was bit longer than usual for some reason, two giant rats appeared before me.

"Please attack and kill the two rats that appeared before you"

Once she finished talking one of the rats lunged forward and my look changed from one of excitement to the cold and calculating persona that I had adopted.

The rat tried to swipe at me with its claws but I dodged to the right and in a flash split its body in two with a clean strike,  I held the second rat by its throat before plunging the blade right through its heart.

I got a new notification

<>

I decided to do some push-ups and sit-ups to get my excitement to wane off but I noticed something.

After I did 100 something push-ups which was the norm for me, I didn't feel tired one bit, I did another 100 and I still didn't feel tired, so I kept doing them until I reach about the 2,000 mark for both push-ups and sit-ups, I noticed that I had gotten a notification after I finished my mini-training regime

<< +25 STR, +10 AGI, +30 VIT, +20 SP>>

So training increases your stats as well, that's good to know.

I noticed that the rats and the weapon rack had dissapeared and a sort of forge and alchemy table appeared, when I noticed both the AI started talking again.

"Please go up to the alchemy table and create an health potion, there should be instructions next to the mortar and pestle, afterwards please go to the forge and choose any metal you deem fit and create a weapon for yourself afterwards we shall finish off with magic training."

I didn't comment and went to the alchemy table, as promised there were indeed instructions on how to make health potions and enough materials to make five so I quickly got to work, for some reason making the potion felt natural and proceeded way easier than I thought it would.

"Huh! This is way easier than I thought ~"

I quickly finished the five health potions and stuck them inside my inventory, I noticed that I had gotten the ancient alchemy skill, but why ancient? I dunno I guess I'll read the description when I finish the tutorial I guess.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

I proceed into the forge and I was dumbfounded on what to do until I felt something inside me shift and I automatically started by taking the blue shining ore out of the twenty something different ore, I heard a small gasp of astonishment but I attributed it to my mind.

I smelted the ore and got it out in the right temperature, before shaping it into the same sword I had used to kill the two rats, I made the hilt from the red fiery hide and wood that I found laying near the forge, at the end I did something that seriously surprised me...

I felt power going to my fingertips and I started drawing weird-rune-like symbols on the blade, when I finished, the blade had a even larger blue glow than before, once again I just attributed to my mind playing tricks on me.

When the sword was done, I felt very comfortable holding it as if it was destined to be there,  I simply held it in my right waiting for further instructions until l noticed a black sheath that shone like crystalline, I tied around my waist and sheathed my sword inside of it while disposing of the old one.

Now! I was waiting for instructions from the AI.

The forge and alchemy table dissapeared and a single table appeared with two books before me.

"The last part of the tutorial is magic training, as a being that has two heritages that are both magical beings you have a very unique affinity for magic, because of this you may choose to read both books if you wish, but be warned, do not delve too much into magic or else you shall find shocking revelations..."

I didn't hear the last sentence because I was already reading the first book, which promptly put, completely explained magic and how it works.

Magic is the simply effort of using mana to create a natural phenomenon such has fire or water than shaping it to create something else, if one is skilled enough they may be able to create natural disasters but only the best of the best of the best can do that.

Mana, which fuels all magic, is part of the trinity of powers, which are Mana, Spirit, and Energy, this three are basically the beginning of all the powers and energies that fuel skills and abilities, most can use Mana, but only a few can handle spirit and energy.

The world is basically an infinite source of mana but nobody expect the greatest mage have found out about a way to convert raw mana into usable mana, because of this most magicians use meditation as a way to increase there mana reserves by absorbing raw mana slowly bit by bit.

All in all if someone is efficient in all three and can manipulate them like breathing and if they are a bad guy then were screwed pretty much.

When I finished reading I got a notification.

<<[Mana Manipulation] Skill Obtained>>

<<[Mana Meditation] Skill Obtained>>

<<[Speed Reading] Skill Obtained>>

I was elated that I got skills, I guess the book was a skill book? Meh! I grabbed the second book, which titled "Spellworks, Magic Theories, and Magic Drawbacks for Noobs"

IT WAS HUGE, like 2 inches thick Jesus!

I activated speed reading and delved right into it.

A few hours later I finished the 2 inch thick book...somehow...

Spells, in general, are a way of making natural and unnatural phenomenon to take effect, people use chants and invocations as to not damage themselves, I thought that was it to casting the spells but there was more, in the book they said that there was a third way too cast spells but most can't master because it is too dangerous, imagination casting.

Imagination Casting, as the name implies, instead of using chants and invocation to deliver the much needed effect, it uses the person's imagination. For instance, in order to cast a simple fireball, you would need to say at least a ten word chant, which was really lengthy and I didn't want to do it, but with imagination casting, you would imagine how big, how hot, and how fast  it was, and with the right amount of mana, you would be able to make it happen, with the only drawback being, that if you loose your concentration OR the image of the desired effect or phenomenon, you would gain a terrible backlash, because of this most stick to invocations, chants, and grimoire to use magic.

I sighed because I instinctively that I would use imagination casting instead of the other two because I was simply too hyper and impulsive.

When I finished basking in my thoughts and finished reading the book, which leveled up my speed reading quite a bit, the AI spoke again, it was pretty creepy out she knew that I was listening...seriously.

"You have completed all three parts of the mandatory tutorial, you shall now be randomly transported towards a spot in the dimension of Eve Online!"

"We Hope you enjoy your time"

"Thank You"

A white light enveloped me again and I was opened my eyes to find myself...
