Chapter 4: Into the Darkness

The Journey into Black Hollow

(The group moves cautiously through the mist-laden terrain of Black Hollow. A group of ten travels together—Hanzo, Elena, Valric, a tank-class knight named Darius, two B-rank knights, two C-rank healers (one named Lyra), and two scholars.)

Scholar: ("They say this land was once sacred before dark magic consumed it.")

(Hanzo tightens his grip, his instincts screaming at him. He walks beside Elena, who looks unusually tense.)

Elena: ("I don’t like this place. It’s too quiet.")

(The group pauses. The mist thickens around them—then, the ground rumbles. A deep growl echoes from all directions.)

Valric: ("Formation! Defensive stance!")

(Suddenly, twisted figures emerge from the fog—grotesque C-rank demons, their bodies pulsing with dark flames. Ten of them. Their red eyes gleam with hunger.)

Hanzo (inner monologue): ("This is it… My first real battle.")

(The demons lunge. The knights react instantly—swords flash, white flames erupt. Battle erupts in the dense mist.)

(Hanzo dashed forward, his instincts guiding him. He was no mage, but his body was honed like a weapon. He sidestepped a clawed strike, then delivered a powerful knee to a demon’s jaw, sending it flying.)

Elena: "Watch your left!"

(Hanzo barely ducked in time, rolling to evade a second strike. He countered with a crushing elbow to another demon’s skull.)

Valric: "Not bad, rookie. But this is just the beginning."

(The battle was relentless. The demons were stronger, faster. The knights were holding their ground—but barely. Blood stained the dirt, and fatigue was setting in.)

(Suddenly, the mist thickened. A new presence made itself known. The battlefield froze as a B-rank demon, nearly A-rank, emerged. Its eyes glowed with pure malice, its form towering over them. The air itself grew heavier.)

Demon: "You… White Flames… will perish here."

(The knights instinctively took a step back. Even Elena and Valric looked tense.)

(The demon moved, faster than expected. It struck first—Valric raised his shield but was sent flying into a ruined wall, coughing blood. The others were cut down one by one. The healers scrambled to support them, but the battle was spiraling out of control.)

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

(Hanzo dodged the first attack, then the second. He fought back with all his strength—but the demon adapted, predicting his movements. A devastating kick slammed into Hanzo’s ribs, sending him crashing into the ground.)

Hanzo (inner monologue): "Damn it… it’s strong…!"

(The demon loomed over him. It raised its massive claw, ready to end him.)

(A burst of healing light enveloped Hanzo. One of the healers—Lyra, a C-rank healer—had risked her life to save him.)

Lyra: "Get up, Hanzo! You can't die here!"

(The demon snarled and turned its gaze on her. It lunged.)

Hanzo: "LYRA, MOVE!"

(Lyra barely had time to react before the demon’s claw pierced through her shoulder, pinning her to the ground. Blood splattered across the ruins.)

(Hanzo’s breath froze. His heart pounded. Something inside him snapped.)

(A surge of White Flame erupted around him. But this time—it was different. The fire crackled, infused with something far beyond normal strength. His body felt lighter, sharper. His vision narrowed onto the demon.)

(And then, in a blur, he moved.)

(The demon swung at him—but Hanzo was already gone. He reappeared behind it, his fist already driving into its side. The shockwave of the impact shattered stone.)

Elena (shocked): "What the hell…?!"

Valric (grinning despite his injuries): "That’s not normal speed… that’s Godspeed."

(Hanzo vanished again, reappearing in front of the demon before it could even react. He delivered a flurry of strikes, his movements near instantaneous. Every attack connected, every hit crushed.)

(The demon roared, summoning dark flames. It swung wildly, trying to hit him—but Hanzo dodged everything like a phantom.)

Hanzo (inner monologue): "I can see everything… its movements, its weakness…!"

(With one final Godspeed Step, Hanzo blurred past the demon, his White Flame-infused punch piercing through its chest.)

(The demon staggered, letting out a final, echoing wail before its body disintegrated into ash.)

(The battlefield fell silent.)

(Hanzo panted, feeling his body burn with adrenaline. But something caught his eye—a dark dagger gleaming amidst the ashes.)

(He picked it up. The blade pulsed with sickly green energy—ancient, cursed magic.)

Elena: "That weapon… it’s not normal."

Valric: "A relic from the old war… They say weapons like these can even paralyze A-rank demons."

(Hanzo twirled the dagger in his fingers, feeling a strange connection to it. He smirked.)

Hanzo: "Then I guess it’s mine now."

(Narration): Hanzo had once been a nobody, an E-rank with nothing but his fists. Now, he had defeated a near A-rank demon, awakened a power beyond human limits, and claimed a legendary weapon.

(As lightning flickered around his body, his smirk deepened.)

Hanzo: "Let’s see just how far I can go."
