Evelyn Hawthorne is an orphan, her whole school knows it and everyone in her small town -Gravemire-  tries to avoid her. She's quaint, short, and keeps to herself. Since moving in with her Aunt Starla who is a ray of sunshine in their small dark town all she's done is gone to school, and visited her parents grave. That is until the cutest dark haired boy showed up to the graveyard one day.
