Chapter 1- Act Natural

**Phone Vibrating**

The vibrating phone brought me back to reality, as I remembered having been spacing out again.

Looking at the mobile, Ceaser sees a feminine name as the caller id: Rosa Meldrin... His head started to ache again, and he tried to find an excuse, knowing that he'd get an earful right now.

After pondering for a few seconds, he takes the call. "Hello, senior, how are you?" Choosing a neutral stance, Ceasar chose to act as if nothing had happened.

"Where the hell have you been?" "Do you have any idea how many times I had to explain your absence at the conference yesterday; someone who doesn't know us might think I'm your assistant?" An irritated silvery voice inquired.

"I have already emailed you about this issue, senior; I messed up this time, but it was really an urgent matter, which is why I couldn't come to the conference, not to mention that I haven't finished the paper yet due to this." Ceaser knew he had to calm his boss down first before slowly making up to her later.

Rosa's dissatisfaction is well grounded, first because the academic paper they should've been discussing is actually his own idea, which was opposed by the majority of the faculty at the university, resulting in insufficient funds to continue research, but thanks to his boss, who supported him throughout the project even with funds from her own pocket.

The project yielded promising results in preliminary tests, and revealing this information in front of all of the world's top professors would have benefited them and their universities, potentially providing enough funds to see this project through to completion.

Anyway, that's the least of Ceaser's problems after the supernatural event he faced last week...

"You haven't even completed the paperwork yet." "I was wondering why you didn't even submit the paper for proceedings." As Rosa became more irritated, Ceasar realised he'd be digging a deeper hole if he kept talking.

"Senior, I'll call back later." "I'm in the middle of doing urgent work; later then." Ceaser took this opportunity to cut the call without waiting for the response.

"........."

Anyone who didn't know the whole story behind this phone call would think Rosa was rude and hot-tempered, but Ceaser knew that Rosa had every right to be annoyed and angry at him in this matter.

All in all, Ceaser's main issue at hand is not the conference or his academic paper, but his memories, which he obtained through the "Astral Projection." While he understood some of the information in his memories, most of them seemed to be sealed, as if he needed to prove himself to understand more.

*Rewinding back six days from the present*

Ceaser has been enjoying his peace in the park as the gentle breeze blows over his face. A while later, during the twilight, as the sun has set but the colourful sky is still vibrant with a rich gradient, Ceaser decides to go back home and stands up.

'hah? Why is my body so light? It feels like I'm floating. Is gravity malfunctioning? Are aliens trying to take me to their spaceship? A plethora of possibilities popped up in his head in a matter of moments, but he still could not think of a possibility of his actual situation happening, even in his wildest dreams...

As he continued to consider his current situation, he became aware of someone just behind him out of the corner of his eye. With caution, he looked back to witness a scene...

It was a scene that left him speechless and astonished as he saw himself on the bench he was sitting on earlier; however, he can still see his body sitting on the bench just as he did earlier. Instead of his head, he saw an infinite amount of strings or lines of different colours, some vibrant, light, and shiny, while others were dull and heavy, all extending themselves towards the infinite space and stars...

Ceaser was extremely shocked to witness his own body at this moment, and as this shock lasted for around 10 seconds, he snapped back to reality, realising that if his body is on the bench, how is he looking while standing up?

He looked at himself and realised he was in a translucent state, while the world appeared grey as opposed to the colourful strings extending from his head earlier, and his thoughts clicked as he quickly remembered reading about something called "astral projection," which is the projection of your soul in the astral plane.

As a mythology and ancient knowledge enthusiast, Ceaser knew a little about this phenomenon, but he couldn't tell for sure. The sun had set and the sky had darkened, and Ceaser realised he was back in his body after feeling dizzy because everything appeared to be normal, as if he had hallucinated.

But Ceaser knew better—his headache, which he thought was due to dizziness and a cold, was actually an effect of the earlier supernatural event.

His intense headache made him stay on the bench for a while when he found out there were some unknown new memories starting to form in his head as his headache intensified.

When he finally gets home and looks in the mirror, everything is normal except for the eye floater glyph that Ceaser has always seen appear in his memories for some reason.

*INFINITE PURE*-That strange glyph appears to have the name "infinite purity," but Ceaser couldn't find any additional information...

Ceaser felt dizzy, which made him want to lie down, but a tingling sensation, which was actually his instinct, prompted him to get something to eat, which provides instant energy, before laying down.

Gathering all the sugar and chocolate he could find in his home in a hurry, he put some sugar in his mouth and laid down, which made him seem relieved a little. The instant he lay down, he fell asleep as if he had been staying awake for a whole week.

Five days later,

Ceaser finally awoke from his five-day nap, and though he appeared to wake up occasionally to get some sugar and chocolate in his mouth, he never stayed awake for more than three or four minutes during these five days.

A weird sense of clarity seemed to exist in the depths of his eyes as he woke up from his deep slumber.
