So you probably heard of stories like Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Magnus Chase et cetera. Well my life's kinda like theirs, accept for the fact that mine is real. No I do not have a wand that can shoot spells nor do I have a god as a parent. But I do have magical abilities. Thing is, I live in a superhuman society where 90% of the worlds population has some supernatural ability. 

It all started in Florida about 50 years ago. A woman, who took a drug from the black market, gave birth to a child who had telekinesis. After that reports of people having uncanny abilities started popping up all over the world. Now having a child with super powers is completely normal. 

Hey there! My name is Chishiki Kasshoku (sometimes called shiki or shoku) and I am one of those superhumans. I have the ability to control anything related to the Earth. That means I can control the wind, lightning, water those things. It's a  very powerful ability. Now that I coming close to age, I regret taking the saying, with great power comes great responsibility, lightly.

Allow me to explain the 'close to age' thing. Like I said, 90% of the worlds population have superpowers, they get them as soon as they are born. But, their powers only activate until they turn 12. Guess what? It's my 12 birthday tomorrow. And I'm terrified. 

Why you ask? One word, villains. Especially a certain group of yakuzas, Suchīru. The word 'Suchīru' literally translates to 'Steal'. Those yakuzas steal the power of other superhumans. Want to know why its such a big deal? Well,

1. It makes them even more powerful (and more unstoppable) 

2. Our life force is tied to our abilities

If our abilities are taken away from us then, we die. Isn't that great?
