"I think splitting the points would allow getting things done. After all, almost everyone has their own point of view and if we buy everything by consensus, it would be impossible," said Max, another representative of the family. "Although splitting sounds good for the techniques, as everyone is different, at the very least we should agree on one or two core cultivation manuals. Once we secure those, we can distribute the remaining points," said Jack, Damian's older brother. He was the spitting image of Damian, although with a more triangular face and a few years older.
After going forward and back, the ten representatives expressed their points of view. In the end, they decided they could go by Jack's suggestion. Only per Damian's suggestion, they should choose the core cultivation manual on the fourth floor. The representatives of the violet sky bloodline marched towards the pagoda. It came to Damian's attention that, except for the patriarch and matriarch. They were one of the first groups to head inside the Pagoda.
Once Damian stepped inside the pagoda, his mind blew off. He was an avid reader of the Xianxia genre and kind of expected this to happen. Nevertheless, expecting it and experiencing it are two separate things. The inside of the pagoda was astonishingly large. Rows upon rows of books adorned the pagoda as far as the eye could see. It took but a moment to realize that the inside of the pagoda was far larger than the outside. On the outside, the pagoda looked to be around thirty yards wide, yet on the inside, Damian could see the rows of bookshelves continued beyond his sight.
After a few breaths time, Damian and the rest of his family regained their composure. They were still under the effects of Tian Long's technique. They advanced through to the fourth floor. While going up Damian had not failed to see that below each manual there was a number stating its price. The books were around 100 points on the first floor. On the second floor where the earth manuals were, he saw 1,000 price tags. On the third, the price was 10,000 for each manual. When he reached the fourth floor a frown had made it to his face, as well as all the other representatives.
The manuals on the four floor had price tags at 200,000. That was 20 times the price for a sky-grade manual. However, even with the exorbitant price, they had already decided that a heaven manual would be the best option. From the knowledge they had gained from Tian Long, they were aware of how much more impressive was a Heaven manual compared to a sky one.
So they all chose a few corridors where the cultivation manuals were. Each chose a row of bookshelves to search for a cultivation manual.
Damian chose the last row of bookshelves to the right. There Damian saw that the four floor was far smaller than the first. On the first floor he could not see a wall on the other side of the library. Here on the fourth floor he could at least see it, even if he could see it was at least two hundred yards away. After what felt like hours of reading each manual and trying to memorize its introduction, Damian had caught a few interesting ones on his bookshelves. First, there was the [Shatterer of heaven manual], then the [divine green lotus manual], and finally, [Heavenly Chaos manual].
He continued looking through his bookshelves. Yet nothing else seemed as amazing to Damian as those manuals. He went to the rendezvous point. Some representatives were already waiting, just as James and Celia had yet to return. After a few more minutes, they returned. After each of the representatives gave exposure and reviewed to their capabilities the pros and cons of each technique, they reached a consensus to buy four heaven cultivation manuals.

Once James held the chosen books in his hands, he said "purchase" and the four manuals disappeared. It seemed to their relief they would not need to carry all the purchased books in their hands. With the number of merit points they had left, they would lack the hands to carry them. They believed Tian Long would provide them with them at a later time.
They had decided to spend two million points on the fourth floor. After all, they could not just use all their points here as they will need to purchase lower leveled manuals. Not every member of the family would be talented enough to cultivate those four manuals. Also, they may need to hire people in the future and could use lower grade manuals to entice them to join their ranks.
So with the two million points down to one million two hundred thousand points after the purchase of the four manuals. They had enough to buy 6 manuals; they discussed what types of techniques they should buy. The discussion didn't last long, as they had the knowledge given to them by Tian Long about cultivation and techniques. They soon reached a consensus they needed at least one movement technique, one attack technique, one weapon technique, and one defensive technique.
So once again they scattered around the four-floor, searching for something that, according to what they know, could be beneficial for their family. Damian focused his search on movement techniques. Damian was an avid reader of web novels, especially those of the Xianxia Genre, and he knew that a movement technique could save his life at a crucial time. It could allow him to escape a death situation. And while an attack technique could overwhelm your opponent. Damian knew he was no fighter, and although he will learn how to fight, he didn't know how good of a warrior he could become. So a movement technique that at least allowed him to escape in a difficult situation was nice, even if he would, of course, try his best to become strong.
Damian continued to search. He found several movement techniques that caught his eye. Damian felt shocked at the sheer number of techniques the pagoda had at least one thousand movement techniques of the heaven grade had caught his eye. When he finished reading the last of the techniques that had caught his interest. In the end, Damian decided on manuals where the beginning step didn't seem in over complex metaphors. At the very least, they should not be as difficult to train, and even if they didn't get their hands on the very best techniques of the library. He knew they were viewing for the progress of the family as a whole, not just one individual. If only a few could learn a technique, those people would be more powerful. However, if only one of those people died, the family would receive a major blow. But if most of the family could learn the technique, then even if they were not as strong individually, they could make up for it in numbers. And the death of two or more people would impact the family. It would not be to the point to destabilize their position within their own territory. Therefore, moderately difficult to understand techniques were the king. With this mindset, Damian reduced the number of manuals to five.
