A/N: MY FIRST STORY, SO PLEASE BEAR WITH IT
----------------------------------------
Prologue
.
'When I was a kid, my parents would often tell me stories about these 'adventurers' exploring new and mysterious places, slaying evil monsters and most of all, saving the people.
The way mother and father talks about them, it seems they really held these 'adventurers' in the highest regard.
After a short while, I founded out that my parents were also former adventurers, after a bit of explaning, they told me they made a promise to each other not to venture out again just for the sake of gold after finding out my mother was pregnant with a child, and of course that child has to be me.
But... 'gold'?
Yes, as I grew older, I began to learn and realize that these 'adventures' do not just risk their lives for the sake of helping out other people, it was riches that was driving them all mad.
But really, I was so disappointed after I learned all of the facts around me, but at the same time, thankful to have such reasonable parents.
And as time went on, I also began to understand that not everybody became 'adventurers' because of greed, but just also for the sake of survival.
People who could not sustain for themselves became adventurers that risks their lives only to get a hot bow of soup for dinner.
After my sixteenth birthday, I have finally decided for my future and left my hometown to become an adventurer in some well-known places, I did not do it for the sake of fame and riches, but because for the responsibility that was bestowed upon me the moment I was born in this world, the responsibility of a loving and caring child, after all it's only a matter of time before they become too old to work in the fields as ordinary farmer.
So I had to take and step up on the duty i have commited myself into, I had to earn gold and money to feed my family by becoming myself an adventurer.
Luckily I was able to get my parent's permission after a long heated argument and have finally decided to gave in, after bidding them farewell and goodbye, I finally began my journey towards Astratum, the home of the famous 'Adventurer's guild'.
----------------------------------------
Under the basking heat of sunlight, a lone person clad in robes, an envelope in hand, can be seen traversing through the busy streets of Astratum.
The sounds of people purchasing and selling goods, up until to the metallic clank as nearby smiths hammered their unfinished products are all audible to every person ears.
After a few turns of left and right, it didn't took him long before he was finally able to reach his destination.
A gigantic building, full of life and buzzling people.
Approaching the main door, he ignored the chattering sounds of people talking nearby, nor the sight of heavily-armed person clad in full armour walking past him, beings with animal features armed with light armors and daggers are also seen inside the building, people with long sharp ears, armed with bows can be seen in groups as they made their way towards a large counter with several receptionist behind it.
But that was not the reason why the man came here in the first place.
After passing a few halls and corridors, he found himself in front of a door.
Taking a deep breath, he knocked on the door three times.
"Come in." a voice behind the door suddenly spoke up.
After opening the door, he is met by a very old man sitting behind a large desk, large stacks of papers were placed atop the desk.
"Pygmalion?" the old man who was currently busy reading with the papers in front of him spoke up after diverting his attention towards the visitor.

"We lost a few people in an D-class dungeon." the man who was now known as Pygmalion spoke up as he made his way towards the old man and slowly handed him the envelope he was carrying earlier to him.
The old man opened the envelope and took out the files from inside.
It says...

"Rose?" the old man tried to clarify, sweat now visible on his forehead.
"Indeed, she is the daughter of the legendary duo that had retired from the guild years ago." Pygmalion said solemnly, his eyes staring intensely at the latter's name.
After a few deep contemplation, the old man finally asked.
"What really happened down there?" the old man asked worriedly.
"Two days ago at exactly 2pm, Petra along with her party were seen entering a D-class dungeon, since the amount of treasures you can get inside were too low, no one bothered to enter, other than her party." Pygmalion stopped, took a long sigh, before finally continuing, "They haven't came out ever since." Pygmalion clenched his teeth in frustration.
"Have you ever tried sending a search party?" The old man asked again.
"We did, they haven't found anything, not even a trace, it's like they never even entered in the first place at all." Pygmalion responded.
"Just where the hell could they be?" the old man took a deep breath, before continuing, "If the duo founds out, what am I suppose to say to them, as a guild master, it is my responsibilty, and... and yet I failed." the old man now known as the guild master stood up, clenching both of his fists.
"It's not your fault, they chose to come here, they should have think twice about the risks they'll take before signing the contract." Pygmalion said.
"But it will reflect on the guild on how we handle our adventurers well, it's only a matter of time before they start to think that we've mistakenly labeled an A-class dungeon as a D-rank dungeon." the guildmaster started shaking in frustration and stress.
"Indeed, this has never happened before, this is only the first time." Pygmalion brought his hands up to his chin and started thinking.
After a while, an idea started to pop up on his head.
"How about we cover it up, bribe a few adventurers to spread false rumours about them deserting the guild." Pygmalion smiled and stared at the guildmaster in front of him.
"What the..." the guildmaster stuttered, too shocked to even say anything.
"Besides, they're just D-rank adventures, one of them is the daughter of some old forgotten legends, nobody is going to bat an eye on a few missing adventurers, getting killed and missing is a normal occurence for idiots who don't know their place." Pygmalion stated, puffing his chest up in praising his own recent suggestion earlier.
"Pygmalion, I can't.... even though they're already forgotten, they could literally take on the whole guild by themselves alone." the guildmaster tried to argue.
"After years of farming in the countryside, their skills and abilities should've plummeted below down by now." Pygmalion countered.
"You can't just underestimate them, you haven't seen their real powers!" the guildmaster has finally raised his voice in anger and irritation.
And just like that, the two kept arguing like there's no tomorrow anymore.
----------------------------------------
Coldness, the very first thing Petra felt after waking up was the freaking freezing temperature around her, it felt like it's only a matter of time before she turns into an ice cube.
"Ughh..." She groggily rubbed her eyes, also she had to refrain her hands from touching the snow-covered ground.
"Uh, guys?" the energy in her body started going up as she slowly recalled everything that happened recently.
"Wait, guys!" She began to panic, as she finally remembers the memory of her and her party getting sucked into some sort of portal.
After a short while, she finally spots the lying figures of her friends and teammates on the ground.
"There you are-" She wasn't able to finish her sentence as she witnessed something in front of her.
something unworldly...
"What the..." she muttered shakily.
