The day the sky fell. The stars shattered into millions, if not almost billions, of little pieces. So many so, you could barely see the sun. The world was eclipsed in darkness later to be marked as the day Pandora's box was opened. The shards didn't only just eclipse the sun, they also struck down countless humans, mothers, sons, daughters, fathers even the elderly. It didn't discriminate, in some ways, it could be said to be fairer than us humans. The ones struck lost all sense of humanity and were later known as the corrupted, quite a fitting name for their madness. They were much better than us humans, agility, strength, even battle sense, they were our superiors with the single mindset to eradicate us as a whole race. With no other options to survive, we were pushed underground as the last resort to survive. The 7 billion in population was drastically reduced to just roughly over 10 000. We could barely kill them with our primitive weaponry, their bodies were practically bulletproof. We were practically on route to complete extermination. Well, as the story goes, at the end of the box, there was also hope. A new type of armament dubbed reapers was created. With it, we killed our first corrupted. The corrupted dropped stones which would be later be dubbed runes. These runes, depending on which one was dropped would strengthen us, humans, even letting us use things akin to magic. We could finally fight back.
