“Rea”
A non making sense whisper is hear from a barely conscious body that was hugging the wall with his back.
Nobody understood what was said but we all knew it was maybe the last moving lips from him.
Experience took over me as I start to move my head left and right, looking for a way to turn this massacre around but all I could see was fear on another level and it was coming for me.
At that point it was to late. Despair was already crawling, twisting my body, shaping it with a will of his own, starting with my fingers and moving on, up through my hands.
I tried to react but some unknown paralysis was infected on me and I fell like a corpse on a bottomless sea, not having the power of my legs to swim against it.
My face was hot and moist but I didn't know why. Mixed feelings wore felt and I couldn't understand what was wrong with me.
As I look down I notice the dust on the ground penetrated by something, leaving two black circles.
Crying? But why?
The answer was simple and it was felt in my chest, producing this tears, the feelings for a dying person.
Suddenly, a long -whoshe- was heard and awakened us from this crimson nightmare.
Everyone's eyes were pulled like little magnets to the sound.
“Did he died?” A trembling voice echo through our ears.
Nobody dared to answer but my tears were already answering for me.
“Move”
Again an unknown voice was heard but this time was different. You could almost taste the pain and regret, like he already knew that his sentence was death.
“Move, god damn it, move! No, … it's not my time to die, not yet so….please move!”
With a surprise, I lifted my head trying to find an answer for this unknown commands.
I started to look where my last imagine of the boy who hug the wall was but all I saw was a red line painted on the rooks of the wall. Deciding to follow the line down, I notice him, still painting the wall with his back but in a position that couldn't make sense.
Because of his face was facing the ground, his dark hair was all I could see. I tried to find a meaning for his action, so I moved my eyes lower, passing by his black leather chest ripped apart from marks of claws but immediately, insanity took me over.
Blood, flesh, even bones whore seen when I reach his lower body. His left leg was no more and his right leg was stabbed and yelled for the last ten seconds.
I could feel the madness through his action but something deep inside of me was telling me he didn't give up living.
Because of this mutilating scene, for a couple of seconds we forgot what drown us in this miserable state but we wore remembered again with a whispering roar.
“GHRRRRRR”
The Beast.
Even worst, it was a Demon Beast.
-step-step the sound of footprints was heard from right side of the cave till it stop, like his predator instincts alert him that he was discovered.
Lighten up half from the torches, I could see a reptile body, around two feet above our heads, with the colors of a poisonous frog, sniffing the air like a mad dog.
In an instant, his head pointed in one direction and starts to slowly advance turning a little to the right. I never even notice when my heart stopped beating but when I saw the Beast moving to another direction I could feel my blood running through my veins again.
When his body moved to my left side I could see some gray bones on hes brownish back sliding till the end of his long tail but maybe the creepiest thing was that he was standing on two legs with his upper body lowered in front forming a thirty degree angle reminding me a little of humanity.
His golden eyes, reflecting the low burning light, blinked once and pulled his head a little to the back, for a moment, reacting to the sounds of agony.
-ghrrr- with his tongue out, touching the invisible, through his barely open mouth showing just a glimpse of the arsenal he was hiding. He was just a machine, build by nature to devour his misfortune prey and it was ready, ready to take the last breath from the pile of meat that stood in front of him.
Lowering his body even more, -whoshe- only the breeze of the wind could be felled. It took me only a blink of the eye to lose site of this monstrosity. Danger could be felled all over the place so I start looking for what in that moment was evil incarnate but I was mislead by some insane screams just briefly after the hunting has started.
Switching my vision towards left, desperately trying to understand the situation but all I could see is the back of a tail swinging it from left to right enjoying his meal.
Silence took over me like the night eats the day and after a passing time the sound of flesh being eaten was giving me shivers down my spine.
My heart was yelling -help him, help him stupid girl- but I was already bounded by shackles, shackles of fear.
“Now! Retreat! “
“The Beast is far away. Run.”
I was brought back into reality from this overawed resonance.
Opening my mind once again, I whip my face not wanting to show the weak and shameless me, I stood up relying on my sword like a cripple, balancing my options.
“Lopez, take control of the situation and evacuate everyone immediately.”
Turning around to look at me, I could sense the puzzling mind in his words.
“Commander?”
“It's an order Captain.”
He wanted to ask so much but I didn't have time so with a warm smile I tried to cast away those doubts.
For a second, his eyes were like fire as he understood that I had a plan and that was enough to nod back at me.
“Everyone, fallow me. Those who can walk, help the wounded.”
“Jacobson, make a line of fire with the oil barrel. Now!”
“Kowalsky.”
“Kowalsky, look at me.”
“KOWALSKY!”
“-Ah-..yhea?”
“Help Jacobson. With your skills, you can leap out if something goes wrong.”
“You have 10 seconds. Block this motherfucker so he can never see the light again.”
“Do you understand? Don't let it through or we are all dead meat.”
“Yes.”
“Did you understand?”
“Yes Sir.”
“Good. Do whatever it takes to light that fire but don't die comrade, that's an order!”
“Tachibana, how much time till the exit?”
“4 hours and 28 minutes, Sir.”
“Four fucking hours!?”
-Fuck…...fuck- my mind was cursing like a priest on a bad day.
What can I do? There must be something.

Lack of experience was starting to darken my mind but all was put behind when I saw her.
“Commander?”
Total ignorance and her advancing reveled me all her intentions.
“Stop pleas Commander, there is nothing we can do.”
Again, only silence as a response.
Desperate, I start running and in just two, three breaths I was behind her.
I don't know why but for a brief moment I just couldn't open my mouth. Maybe because her long black hair hitting her lower body, floating in a perfect synchronize with her advancing movements. Movements that were taking away my words, one by one just like her steps.
As I was observing her next move, I notice the shining silver armor set, embracing her curve body shapes and from time to time reflecting the light from the background and hiding again under the thin and long cloak. White in the color, this clock was more like a bride's veil gently hanging around her neck and almost hitting the ground.
I was bewitched by her without any chants.
With the excuse to look for a hint that her movement stopped, I lowered my greedy eyes even more.
Covered at top with a skirt made from a white fabric that seems forbidden to men, two long legs were flowing down, at the end, hiding her feet in her combat boots.
Unknown desires started to be born inside of me. Not knowing how to react to this symptoms, I tried to grab her hand but I felt the urge to protect my self just because I linger for a treasure not meant for mankind.
-swoosh- I could feel that something struck me.
Thinking I evade the strike, I felt down on my back. When hitting the ground, I lost my balance to the right side. Trying to pull me up, embarrass by my clumsiness, I notice a growing red pool all around me. At the start, I didn't realize but after the pain started to hit me like trucks hitting walls, I understood. That blood was dripping from a wound and it was from my right elbow.
Grinding the pain with my teeth, I was trying to find a culprit for my agony and the only down to earth explanation, was her.
My desires already darken my visions so I tried to blame on other evil beings as I couldn't just believe such an angel could also be a demon.
“Commander, its me Marcus. Lopez Marcus.”
Still no answer.
As my patience was already at the edge because of the pain and her stubbornness, doubts were starting to rise in my head.
A fallen angel was the only solution I came up with but my manhood was already awakened so I didn't want to give up on such rareness.
Wanting to say something again, an ugly sound interrupt me.
-arghhhh- the sound of a new prey.
“Commander, the Beast is done with him. We don't have much time. Let's run already.”
Suddenly, she stopped. Just by turning around, seeing her face I started to relax.
She was making dozens of expressions trying to move her light reddish lips to say something but all I could think was how beautiful she was.
Reading my mind, finding my distraction, she approached me lowering a little her face.
Just by seeing those big black eyes I was instant spellbound by hallows with unknown destination, losing site that I was already discovered.
-sssshhhh- a familiar sound awakened me from my fantasy.
It was a long, straight sword. A Claymore.
I saw many weapons in my life but my instincts were telling me this one was different.
Gripped by two steady hands, already in position to attack, the sword started to emanate some chilling in the air like the morning mist, rising up and blending with the atmosphere ready to strike with the speed of lighting.
Cold and shivers of ice enveloped me as I can hear her saying something.
“I can still save him. He has another life. Its my duty as a Commander and a human being to not abandon him.”
At that point it was all clear. She wasn't an angel or a rare gem, she was just insane.
Crawling on my ass, kicking the dust in front of me, maybe to gain speed, I turn myself trying to run as fast as I could, screaming just some already forgotten words.
“Crazy snow bitch.”
………
“Good.”
“Hes out of the way.”
“Now I can concentrate on helping that boy.”
“Can I make it ….? “
“No!”
“Stop talking nonsense and think something.”
“First, I need to distract his attention.”
“Here…. big ugly...whatever you are.”
As the Beast turn his head towards me, tasting the cold air with hes tongue, fear started again to take control of me.
“No!”
“No more back steps.”
“I'm a person with no regrets.”
“Even if I die here, I am not gone let someone die in front of me.”
“I have my skills.”
“Thrust your skills.”
“Good.”
“That's better.”
“Now prove yourself.”
That was my resolve.
With a cold and secure smile, a little laughed and a lot of courage I came up maybe with the most stupid line ever, to start a fight.
“Tell me Mr. Evil….. do u like snowball fights?”
……….
Around seven hours latter.
Light.
I didn't knew were was I but the light felt warm and above all, safe.
Some soldiers start running towards me, grabbing me as they notice I was at the end of my powers.
“Commander!?”
Turning just a glimpse of me eyes towards the darkness of the cave and looking at my broken state, I knew I shouldn't be here so questions wore raising just like stars, when the night comes. Trying to find some enlightenment for the last hours I could hear some familiar noises.
“Make way.”
“Step aside.”
I see. They are here. How am I gone explain this.
With my last powers, I tried to smile to them so they could understand I am all right, maybe unconsciously asking for forgiveness to.
Lowering my head again, I could hear some words -we saw the reports- but they faded in the emptiness of my mind.
I could feel some emotions to, -stupid, stupid-, -sob, sob- still they couldn't shake the feelings from this day.
And in the end I heard my name but my mind was already on drugs, trying to break free from this unfair realty.
“...answer us.”
“Rea, what happened?”
Before fainting out, I spit my anger with tears pounding like rivers, yelling with all my might.
“I DONT KNOW! ...but - sob- I couldn't save him.”
