Far from the capital there was a small farming village which also serves as an outpost between the Raijairu Republic, the Ravalania Empire and the kingdom of Asvalia. In the kingdom of Asvalia there lived a girl who will soon end the dispute between the three neighboring countries.

In a small hut in that same village there lived a girl and her mother, the girl had silky golden blonde hair, she wore a long coat that covers up her entire body, on her waist is a sword, it was a Japanese katana that was about seventy centimeters long, she was about ten years old. Beside her was her mother a young lass within her thirties, she also had golden blonde hair like her daughter, unlike her daughter she wore a gown commonly worn by commoners. She gave the little girl a pat on the head and said.

“Take care my child and no matter what happens, even if the whole world turns against you, I’ll forever be by your side.” Said her mother afterwards the girl smiled back and said. “I’m off mom, wish me luck that I’ll become an imperial knight so that one day our life of living as part of the poor will end.” Said the girl.

She gracefully bowed at her mother and left, she carried only a small bag which contains food, water and a small amount of money just in case something happens, as she was about to leave her once peaceful life and embark on a journey in which she may never return she was interrupted by a young girl who also wore the same kinds of clothing as the girl with blonde hair. Unlike the other girl this girl had a bow behind her back and a few arrows, she smiled at the girl with red hair and said.

“Don’t leave me behind Hanabi-chan, I don’t want to be alone here, since my mom and dad are also gone I don’t have any reason to stay in the village, I want to explore the vast world and I want to see it with you, so please take me along.” Said the girl as she was kneeling down at the red haired girl named Sakura. Sakura then held her hand and asked her to raise her head afterwards she said.

“There’s no need to worry, I wouldn’t leave you behind Sakura-chan, now let us move time is against us, we must ride swiftly and quickly so that before dawn we have already found a place to stay for a few days.” The girl named Sakura stood up and said.

“R-really?! You really aren’t planning on leaving me behind?” Said sakura meanwhile Hanabi’s eyes were facing the other direction and she seems to be trying her best to avoid eye contact. Sakura instantly noticed and said.

“You were planning on leaving me alone right?! Based on your reaction you were planning on leaving as early as possible so that I wouldn’t notice, but your mother told me that you were leaving early in the morning, and when I arrived I saw you were already leaving me behind, what about our promise? Despite the odds we’ll never leave each other’s side.”Said sakura while holding the hands of her friend, tears then fell from her eyes as Hanabi smiled at her and said.

“You’re right, I’m sorry Sakura-chan, I really want you to come along…. But the dangers of this journey is beyond count, this county is ruled once by the republic, but then the kingdom waged war and then claimed this land as their own, but sooner or later they will return with an army that will crush the armies of the kingdom, so it’s better to leave the county, but where would you go if you come with me, if I go to the capital then started my training as a knight then I can’t take care of you, so what will you do?” Said Hanabi as she was staring at Sakura with a very serious face. Unlike her regular smiling face this one had signs of her being serious about this topic, a few moments later her face loosens up and said.

“Fine, fine have it you’re way, but might I warn you that I’m not so great with my swordsmanship that I can protect you, but unlike me you can use the bow properly, did your father teach you that before he disappeared?” Said Hanabi as she was staring at the bow behind her back, she quickly gripped the bow tightly and said.

“My father brought me along to an elf village once and they taught me how to wield and use a bow and arrow, they also taught me how to ride a horse and elven swordsmanship, I’m thankful from the bottom of my heart that I went to their village.” Said Sakura as she stared at the sky, as she was looking upwards towards the blue skies the wind blew hard and they felt the presence of something dangerous and Hanabi said.

“Something’s coming here and it’s fast, I don’t know what it wants but we need to get out of here!” Hanabi quickly grabbed her hand and ran towards her run down house and there she saw her mother and Hanabi said.

“Mom let’s get out of here, something really bad is coming and we need to leave now!” But her mother smiled at her and said.

“Leave now before it’s too late, don’t worry about me I’ll be fine, but you two should leave before they come here.” SaidHanabi’s mother as took both of their hand and she took Hanabi and Sakura outside the village and then she said.

“Leave this village quickly, a war between the republic and the kingdom will begin, people from the village are also beginning to flee towards the capital for safety. This village is no longer safe since the flames of war are staring to rise, leave the village through the forest since their armies would clash in the great plains of Bardalia.” Said Hanabi’s mother. As the three of them were running inside the forest, they heard the sound of steel chasing against each other. We ran as fast as we could until my mother stopped and said.

“No matter what happens please put your safety above all else, this kingdom will lose the war soon so it’s better for you to go to another country, go to the empire, someone I know willtake care of you, just tell them you’re the daughter of Yagi and show them this.” Afterwards she took a golden statue from her pockets and gave it to Hanabi, then Yagi drew a sword out of thin air like magic and said.

“Take this sword along with you Sakura, I know that I’ll be of great use to you, please protect my daughter with your best efforts. But don’t risk your life trying to do so.” Sakura smiled at Yagi and said.

“Leave it to me ma’am, I promise that your daughter will arrive at her destination without a scratch.” Then she took the sword from Yagi’s hand then Sakura took Hanabi’s hand and ran as fast as they could.

Yagi smiled at the two of them and said.

“There’s someone waiting for you outside the forest and I’m sure that she’s going to be a useful ally, There’s no time to waste I’ll meet you at the capital of them empire, but for now you must get out of here.” Without hearing any of her words the girls fled into the distance away from Yagi. When they arrived at the exit of the forest they saw two men in full mail armor, they noticed the two girls and both drew their weapons, the same was with Sakura, she quickly drew her bow and started to shoot the men.

Ting!Ting!Ting!Ting!

As she fired arrows towards the men they easily deflected the arrows with their swords and got closer and closer towards the two. Sakura then discarded her bow and drew the sword that Yagi gave her and ran towards the men.

Clang!Clang!Clang!Clang!

As Sakura was trading blows with them men she smiled at them and said.

“Is that the best you could do? Is this really the extent of the skills of the knights of the republic?” Then she threw a knife towards one of the men and ran towards him at full speed. After the man blocked the knife thrown at him Sakura quickly performed a roundhouse kick knocking the first man unconscious, the second man took the sword of his fallen comrade and said.

“Please tell me why is a little girl like you skilled in swordsmanship, and you’re swordsmanship isn’t one from the kingdom, republic or empire right? It’s from the elves of the forest, I’ve seen their swordsmanship once in my life and I know that you trained with the elves, Let’s see if the elven swordsmanship lives up to it’s legend as the greatest form of swordsmanship in this world. Afterwards the man ran towards Sakura at full speed, Sakura did the same but this time she discarded the sword and drew two daggers from her waist.

Sakura crouched down on the ground to evade the man’s attack and threw sand at the man’s face, then she stabbed the man in the abdomen and said.

“Elven swordsmanship isn’t suited for me so I formed my own style of swordsplay. This is the swordsplay that I created the Rakushaswordsplay.” Then she kicked the man’s face thus also knocking the man unconscious then she approached Hanabi and said.

She seems to be a person who likes to read books more than moving too much so she thought that her physical abilities were lower than hers, but then Sakura held her hand and said.

“I said let’s go! I can already hear the sound of the soldiers marching towards our location, I think that their numbers are exceeding fifty and there’s no way that we can win against fifty soldiers of the republic, I only managed to beat them since there was only two of them, but if there is more than fifty enemies then all hopes on winning alone is futile.” Then the two of them continued running then before they realized it they were already surrounded by republic soldiers, one of the soldiers said.

“So these girls are responsible on beating two of our guards at the exit of the forest? Kill them quickly and head back to the front lin-“ As the man who seemed like the commander of the platoon was speaking there was a gigantic figure flying above us and when we stared at it we saw a dragon that was hovering above us, It’s unlike any dragon told in the tales of the townsfoke, It was larger than what the tales have told so Hanabi only taught of one kind of dragon that big.

“It’s an Ancient dragon!” Said Hanabi then when the soldier heard the name Ancient dragon everyone fell into panic and started to run in every direction in order to escape the dragon’s wrath. The dragon landed down to the location of the two girls and said.

“So you must be HanabiAsaka and she must be your companion Sakura, I’m a servant of the Lady Yagi my name is Miko and I’m an ancient dragon that serves as her familiar.” Then the dragon’s body was covered in bright red light and after a few moments her body became that of the size of a twelve years old girl. She had Scarlet red hair, Bright red eyes and a very slender body. She wore a long and elegant cloak, she held a spear on her right hand and a sword on her waist. She leaped high in the sky with a length of over two thousand meters she gathered magical energy called mana in the spear and said.

“Pierce thy enemies and let none escape, Carnage Spear Baldragon!” Afterwards she tossed the spear towards the fleeing soldiers and after the spear made contact with the target a large explosion was seen and an area over five hundred meters was blown to ash, There was nothing left, no body, bone or even ash remaining. There was just one big hole on the ground that was about five hundred meters deep and wide.

“Amazing…. Is this the full extent of the powers of an ancient dragon?” Said Hanabi, then Miko smiled at her and said.

“No this isn’t even close to my full power, I don’t want to go all out here because it may harm you and my master told me to protect you with all my might.” Said Miko as she caught the spear the returned to her after she threw it towards her enemies.Hanabi stared at her two new companions as they stared at each other, Sakura focused her attention on Hanabi and she said.

“So….. where should we go Hanabi-chan?” Sakura returned her sword to it’s scabbard and faced the ancient dragon Miko and said.

“I’m Sakura Homura and it’s nice to meet you Miko-san.” Then Miko the ancient dragon smiled at her and said.

“You don’t have to be so formal, just call me Miko I’m fine with it, Besides I’m already used on being called by that by those I know so please call me Miko from now on.” She gave of a gentle smile and then her spear and sword disappeared and a few moments later an arrow was fired towards Miko, but when the arrow hit it’s mark there was a loud sound of steel hitting steel was heard and the arrow as split in two, Miko re-summons her spear and said.

“Excuse me Sakura-san, Hanabi-sama I’ll just get rid of the enemy for a moment so please wait a moment.” Then her feet was filled with mana and she leaped towards the location where the arrow came from. Miko was moving so fast that she could beat even the speed of sound at will. The man who fired the arrow was surprised and ran as fast as he could but it was futile, Miko quickly appeared behind him and stabbed him with the spear. Blood was flowing down on the ground and the man screamed as his innards were slowly being removed by the girl. He knew that his death was already underway so he closed his eyes while waiting for it all to be over, then Hanabi quickly appeared behind Miko and said.

“Please Miko-san, there’s no reason for you to kill this man, please remove your spear.” Miko was surprised by the demands of Hanabi, but as she commanded she removed the spear that was impaled in the man’s chest, the man stared at the beautiful girl with blonde hair in front of her and said.

“T-thank you…. At least now I can die in peace.” Hanabi faced Miko and said.

“Isn’t there a way that you could save him Miko-san?” Miko nodded and said.

“I can heal his wounds if you want master, but he must swear that he’ll never lay a finger on you again.” Hanabi faced the man and said.

“Can you promise her that?” The man then nodded then Miko’s hands were filled with mana and she shot a beam of light towards the man and the injuries in his chest slowly begun to stitch itself and when the wound is fully gone the man bowed down and said.

“Thank you very much I thought that I was going to die, thank you so much you lass.” The man suddenly hugged Hanabi as he was thanking her.

Miko bit her lips while pointing it at the man then she said.

“Can you please let go of her we’re on a busy schedule and we need to go to the empire.” Despite her words the man didn’t let go of his grip of the young girl, then a few moments later the man finally lets go and said.

“It’s a shame that you’re going to the empire at such a time, The kingdom could use a warrior like her in their ranks. The battle here will decide the fate of both countries so whoever wins here will claim the other country as their own. I forgot to tell you my name right? I’m Akihiko and I’m from the fifth division of the kingdom’s royal army, I fired that arrow because I thought that the dragon was going to kill the two of you, I didn’t realize that she was your comrade at arms, I’m sorry.” Then the man named Akihiko bows down then he went to picked up his bow and left the plains. Since the battle isn’t looking too good on the side of the Kingdom he quickly ran back towards the frontlines were the battle is currently fierce.

“Should we go to the empire now then?” Asked Miko then the two of girls replied with a nod and they rode the horses of the dead soldiers on from the republic.
