The Arenas YEAR 7 PART 2

The Arenas YEAR 7 PART 2

It is the third month of the seventh year. And most recently, I have acquired a new blueprint. I was recently able to face about fifty or so dark eldar warriors in the pit. Most of them had swords and aplinter weapons.

They likely either failed in so.e way, or were sold off for laughs. I don't know. The little bastards tried to climb me and destroy my head. First they tried with their shard weapons, then with their swords after I shot them a few times with my cannon. By the time they reached me after scattering, about 35 died. Only reason it was that high was because of both my cannons Carrying high explosive ammunition. Or, at least, reactive ammunition. I wonder if I could modify it?

I digress. Those that remained tried to climb me like some toy. My favorite tactic to use there was to grab the ones I could with my fist and squeeze. Sometimes they pop, sometimes they get squeezed like toothpaste. Sometimes, their torso gets compressed until it looks like abstract art.

The only problem were those that climbed my back. Maybe I should put a gun on my back. Could solve that issue. But, the solution I had to use was a mixture of shooting warpfire at them and slamming my back against the arena wall. Both methods were highly effective.

In the end, there were fifty corpses, and or 50 piles of unidentifiable meat. I gathered their ranged weapons, and brought them to my pit. I knew at the time that it would probably work, but absorbing xeno tech could be problematic.

There were a bunch of splinter rifles and pistols, and a splinter cannon. These were, as I suspected, chaff troops. But, their loss is my gain. So, I began the absorption.

It took longer than absorbing any of the imperial weapons, but eventually, after a good hour, it worked. The second went down faster. And when I finally worked my way through all of the splinter rifles, I started my work on the splinter cannon.

It was different. It had stabilizing fluid so you could shoot on the move, and a few other technical differences. But, it eventually went down. And, it seems I can build it.

After a while of examination, I think I know why I can. The most basic difference is the stabilization that is inherent in the design. I can remove it to instead give a bigger crystal for more ammo. As well as removing this rather situational trigger mechanism. Hmmm. Could I modify other guns?

The auto cannon is fine the way it is. It is a locked weapon per say. It moves with my main cannon. And on that note, the only thing I think I need to change for the two cannons is the ammunition type.

My normal shells are a mix between a HEST/HEAT shell. This is a rather ingenious thing. While HEAT shells do have an external detonation, it's primary objective is to eject a stream of molten metal into the enemy. While a HESH shell is basically made to be a HE plus round. While a simplistic definition, it gets the idea across. So, while a pure HE shell would be better for pure blast radius, the combination shell doesn't do much worse at all.

Perhaps I should keep these shells for my primary gun... Yes. Having the flexibility to target hard or soft targets is honestly invaluable. Instead, I need to create a dedicated AP round. I thought back to may past life. While some things are clearer, some are not.

But... I do remember something. Darts... darts? Hmmmmm. Perhaps... oh. OH! I get it now! Ha! Now I get it! I could make an APFSDS type round!

The only problem being, I am no weapons designer. Sure, I could probably make a basic APFSDS round, it's basic concept is simplistic after all. But designing the core would be a problem.

I could, perhaps, synthesize a whole dart of adamantium. However, I have no doubt that it would be expensive, and immensely heavy. It would be unsustainable in the extreme.

But, perhaps I could make the body of it out of plasteel... yes. Yes, the main body made out of plasteel, a core of ceramite, with a cap of adamantium. The steel gives structure. The ceramite, the weight. And the adamantium, the penetration.

For the autocannon however, I think I should use a mixed belt of ammunition. You have the base HEST/HEAT round, followed by a APFSDS round. Repeat as necessary.

The only problem being I'm not wasting any more mass then necessary on ammunition. The tip will be ceramite and the body plasteel. No core for weight. It would be a waste.

I admit, I am extremely excited. I love building things. When I was a Barron, I loved to look over the city I was tasked with ruling, watching it grow and prosper. Such a shame...

Cough Anyhow! This is a task that could take weeks to do. It shouldn't take long to synthesize the materials. After all, I'm made of them! But doing so for my ammunition feeds may take some time. Too bad I feel as if I'm running out...

It is officially the 5th month of the 7th year. Progress has been made on ammunition. I decided to forgo changing my left arm's primary cannon ammunition due to it being superfluous at this current time. I have however changed the auto cannons ammunition. I needed to modify the feeding system, but it was a success. I can either fire HESH rounds, or darts.

The feed system is complex, and I debate on the functionality of having separate feeding systems. But, in theory, it should give versatility. I have n-
