Prologue

Cold, endless darkness enveloped him, his body suspended in a thick, viscous sea of emerald fluid. A silent, embryonic cocoon cradling his nascent form. The sensation of floating and the soft, rhythmic pulsations of unseen machinery lulled him, but a rising tide of consciousness stirred within.

Disorientation and confusion washed over him as he awoke, his mind a blank canvas devoid of memories or knowledge. He was reborn, an infant in a world he had yet to comprehend. Panic surged through him as awareness swelled, and he instinctively began to pound on the curved, unyielding glass walls of his amniotic prison.

As if responding to his desperation, the fluid began to drain, swirling into hidden recesses beneath him. The life-sustaining liquid abandoned him, and his body plummeted onto the unforgiving, cold metal floor. The air was stale and heavy with the scent of machinery, a cacophony of industrial hums and whirring gears filled the void.

Weak and trembling, he rose from the ground, his limbs obeying some innate command to stand and walk. The only sound accompanying his tentative steps was the wet slap of his feet against the floor, echoing through the chamber as he explored the dimly lit space.

In the shadows near the entrance, a solitary pedestal stood like a sentinel, a single piece of parchment atop its surface. He approached, curiosity and the drive for answers compelling him forward. The script, written in a flowing, ornate hand, seemed to speak directly to him:

"My vat-born child, you have been forged from the essence of the most exceptional beings - an Astartes of the Thousand Sons Legion. To ease your transition into this realm, I have imbued your mind with basic motor functions and an array of languages. You possess a formidable intellect, a body honed for battle, and a soul touched by the immaterial. You are the culmination of my life's work, and yet, I fear I shall not witness your growth to its full potential. It is my fervent hope that you will harness your extraordinary abilities for a greater purpose."

The words resonated with the vat-born, stirring a yearning deep within his newly awakened heart. As he stood in the dim light of the chamber, surrounded by the hum of arcane machinery, he knew that the journey to uncover his destiny had only just begun.
