Brace yourselves...
Hrm. RR wont let me post my teaser unless it is 500 words long. Thats annoying.
But mine is the black little soul of an anarchist, so ill do as I please.
So here is some nonsense poetry.
In blood-soaked sands and skies ablaze,
WARGAMES unfold through ancient haze.
A test of steel, of mind and lore,
To fight as humans once before.
Alien foes with eyes unblinking,
Push the edge where man is sinking.
Yet through the ages, skills revive,
A primal fire keeps hope alive.
A Roman phalanx, shields aligned,
Marches forward, fierce, combined.
Alien claws meet blades of old,
In tactics forged, both brave and bold.
Knights on horseback charge the field,
Armor shining, swords revealed.
Alien plasma burns the air,
But humans counter with skill and care.
The muskets fire in smoky veil,
This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.
Redcoats form the line and hail.
Through powder clouds, the orders shout,
While alien ranks begin to rout.
In trenches deep, the soldiers crawl,
The Great War’s horrors shadow all.
Aliens strike with venomous gas,
But humans endure, as eras pass.
The skies ignite with jets’ loud roar,
The modern age brings total war.
Missiles fly and lasers scorch,
The final stand on Earth’s last porch.
Yet war’s no game, the lesson clear,
Through epochs dark, through endless fear.
Each age demands a tribute paid,
In blood and bone, in lives unmade.
The humans learn, adapt, survive,
To keep the spark of Earth alive.
Though alien forms seem strong, unbound,
The human heart beats battle sound.
Each era calls for mastery,
Of strategy and history.
The lessons old, the battles new,
Are waged with courage, fierce and true.
From ancient swords to modern drones,
From kings on thrones to soldier’s bones.
Each clash a test of time and skill,
Each moment proof of human will.
WARGAMES rage, but far beyond,
Lies hope of peace—a fragile bond.
For every age’s brutal strife,
Can sow the seeds of better life.
Through alien eyes, they see it still,
The human spark, the iron will.
No era’s war has been in vain,
If lessons learned bring end to pain.
So WARGAMES end, but not the fight,
For peace demands its own fierce might.
The future’s forged in trials dire,
By those who brave the alien fire.
In every age, in every frame,
The human spirit burns the same.
Through WARGAMES dark, the truth is plain:
The heart of man will not be slain.
