WAR OF WIZARD ALLIANCE
The Return of King Henry V

The Return of King Henry V

After years of fighting on the battlefield, King Henry V finally returned to England as a victor. With a resounding victory in combat, Henry’s name had become revered as a strong and unbeatable king. That day, the sky over London was clear, as if celebrating the king’s great triumph. Along the streets leading to the palace, people cheered, welcoming the hero who had returned from the exhausting war.

Henry rode his horse, dressed in gleaming armor still covered with the dust of battle. Although his body was weary, his face radiated pride and joy. The troops behind him also wore expressions of happiness, following their king's steps with banners waving high in the air.

As they passed through the grand palace gates, the cheers of servants and nobles awaiting his return echoed louder. At the foot of the grand staircase stood Queen Margaret, his loyal wife, her face filled with joy and longing. Beside her was their son, Prince Edward, then only ten years old, standing proudly in his royal regalia, though his small frame was still far from fitting the garments of a prince.

Henry dismounted his horse with a steady step, and as his feet touched the ground, his eyes immediately locked onto his family. A smile spread across his face as he saw Margaret and Edward. He had longed for this moment — to reunite with them after years of being away from home.

"Henry!" Margaret cried, unable to hide her emotion. With quick steps, she approached her husband, her eyes brimming with tears. "You’re home. You’re finally home."

Henry smiled, removing his iron helm, and extended his hand to take Margaret’s. "I promised I would return victorious, and now I am here," he said softly.

They gazed at each other, filled with love and longing, as if the world around them disappeared for a moment.

"Father!" Edward called out excitedly, his voice full of admiration and pride. "You really won, just like you promised! You’re my hero!"

Henry chuckled, then bent down to greet his son.

"Of course, Edward. I fought for you, for your mother, and for the future of this kingdom." Henry embraced his son warmly, and Edward, trying to be as stoic as a true prince, could not hide his happiness.

After hugging his son, Henry looked at him with affection. "You’re growing into a strong and wise boy, Edward. One day, you will be a great king, greater than I am."

Edward’s eyes sparkled as he nodded. "I will learn everything from you, Father. I want to be as strong as you are on the battlefield."

Henry smiled with pride. "You will be more than that, my son. You will lead with wisdom and compassion. You will not only win battles, but also the hearts of your people."

Margaret, standing beside them, watched with a soft smile. She knew how important the bond between father and son was. She felt the same pride in Edward, who, though young, already showed signs of becoming a formidable leader in the future. Yet, in her heart, there was a small seed of worry. Henry had fought so many battles, and though he always returned safely, Margaret always feared the day when he might not return.

"Rest, my love," Margaret finally said, holding Henry’s hand. "You must be weary after all these battles. You deserve peace here in the palace."

Henry nodded, feeling the warmth from his wife’s touch. "Yes, I am tired. But here, with you and Edward, I feel stronger than ever."

The queen and prince then escorted Henry into the palace, where a feast had been prepared to celebrate his victory. Yet beyond the revelry, deep in Henry’s heart, he felt something strange. Though his body was in the palace, his mind was still troubled by the events of war. Something inside him whispered that the war was not truly over — that a darkness was approaching, something far more terrifying than any enemy on the battlefield.

As the night continued with feasting and merriment, in the corner of his mind, Henry sensed the growing shadows. Unbeknownst to him, a mysterious figure named Selena Nightshade was already planning her first move toward the kingdom’s destruction.

But for now, King Henry V enjoyed the happiness of being with his family, believing that this victory was the beginning of the long-awaited peace. However, in the future, there would be greater trials ahead — not just for him, but also for Prince Edward, who would soon face a darkness even his father could not have prepared for.
