John woke up gasping for breath. The 36 hours he spent camping in line for a copy of the new and legendary game royal road, taking a massive toll on his body. He had eagerly set up the expensive machine the day before and quickly rushed and inserted the game. He then put on his helmet.

For a while he saw only white fog. Then however he hear a sweet, feminine voice beckoning to him. He looked around frantically, searching for the source of the beautiful voice. But alas, it was to no avail. He soon discovered that he was in the midst of the character creation process and listened eagerly.

Alveroth’s had trouble with this one. All he knew was that he would definitely not chose neutral. After all he thought, “What the hell does that even mean.”
After much internal debate he decided that he would stick with his traditional gender of male.
“Male” He shouted.

After Reading through the description multiple times he was still unable to decide what was the best choice. As self doubt continued to creep in he decided that, he would chose randomly without looking. Although he didn’t want to become a Fierce Howler, as their upraising sounded difficult he left it in. There was some hidden allure to it. This prevented him from simply casting it away. He closed his eyes and picked randomly. In a flash of light he spawned into the new world.
Alveroth wondered why he didn’t get to chose his starting nation. He looked up, and soon found out why.
2 weeks earlier.
(Since it’s a flashback, the MC will be called John)
Random Friends talking — “Hey man, did you hear about that totally gnarly video game called Royal Road”
Other Random Friend — “Ya man, it’s supposed to like boast a 99% realism”
John overheard their conversation but wasn’t to interested. He figured that if these 2 dimwits who probably didn’t even know what realism meant were talking about it couldn’t be good. He quickly finished his usual transaction, buying a lottery ticket and left.
He got home and prepared his dinner. As usual he enjoyed instant noodles, with frozen vegetables. Then following his daily routine, he turned on the TV and switched to Gamer’s network. There he saw once again the game those two idiots at the grocery store were talking about. RR became famous after it’s release 2 days ago. It’s release let to international praise and positive reviews. After some research he decided that he must purchase the game as well. Unfortunately the price of the console was too expensive at $10 000. He sighed and went to sleep.
This routine of depression and lack of enthusiasm continued until, one week later when a man turned up at his door. He told him news that changed his life forever. A miracle had occurred and the lottery ticket he had purchased had won the jackpot. He now $237 000 561 in his bank account. He first bought himself a million dollar home. Although he was rich he still believed in saving fiscally.
After all the excitement died down, he remembered the television add. He quickly went to the local game store, and after seeing the massive line turned away. He headed to the grocery store and bought 2 days worth of supplies, and a tent. He returned to the line once again, this time undeterred. He then set up a tent for the night.
