‘War isn’t for the faint-hearted.’ That was the only thought that prevailed in Dracus’ mind as he stepped away from the battlefield. He glanced over the mounds of bodies strewn about as if a young godling lost interest and carelessly tossed their toys down and left. Several of Dracus’ friends were apart of the casualties, good men and immensely powerful fighters and mages. His groups’ power is what caught the lord Heimdell’s attention oh so many years ago, and to have them even partake in this battle.
“It’ll be a simple clearing out of bandits and possibly an orge or two.” Heimdell started so casually.
“All for the duty of our emperor.” sighed Dracus as he continued walking away from the gruesome sight. The information Heimdell gave was totally inaccurate. Instead of a loosely formed bandit group and few scattered orges, there was a whole army of professionally trained spellswords and mages waiting to slaughter him and his group. Deep down he knew it sounded like a trap but how was he supposed to expect that. ‘Mine and Heimdell’s relationship wouldn’t call for this.’ He thought.
Suddenly Dracus’ battle instincts took over and he sidestepped to the left and thrust his armor-clad hand to where his head originally was to snatch an arrow out of the air.
“It seems that there are still vermin lurking in the shadows.” He snarled “Step into the light and I promise a swift death.” As he twisted his body around with such force it stirred the dirt creating cover as he heaved the arrow back in the direction it came from.

A painful yelp sounded out as it struck the shoulder of the original sender as he fell out of his invisibility spell due to the pain causing a lapse in his concentration which in turn dismantled his spell.
“Did you really think a simple arrow would take me down?” Dracus asked his aggressor.
“No, but I created enough of a distraction for the spell to be complete!” Shouted the man as he pitifully attempted to lunge at Dracus with an emerald-encrusted dagger.
Dracus simply swatted the man’s hand away and in the same motion grasped him by the throat. “What spell?” He inquired.
The man didn’t speak for several seconds before finally saying “The teleportation spell you fool.” Which was immediately followed by a bright blinding light.
As the light faded a howling sound filled Dracus’ ears. As he glanced around he realized where he was sent with the spell. He chuckled and asked the man still gripped in his hand “Did you fools seriously think a fall from the edge of the atmosphere would really kill me?” He watched as the light of hope dimmed and transformed into sudden fear. Dracus simply crushed the man’s windpipe and tossed him aside as he continued his descent to the planet.
