Dex felt like he had a weekend long bender, head pounding, eyes barely able to focus on anything, the grass slightly tickling him, wait grass, shouldn’t I be in be... His eyes suddenly opening wide at that last thought. A thought pushed itself towards his mind reincarnate, he’d met this world’s god, or perhaps even of this universe. Sitting upright, still feeling disoriented, Dex looked around, rolling fields of grass with forests surrounding him. It looked as if the space was perfectly cleared around him in a circle.
He looked at the few trees shooting up from the forests, touching the clouds and parting them. A plethora of animal noises surrounding him, focusing on the tree line he spotted a few animals dashing through the trees. He also saw smaller creatures dashing from tree to tree, as to stalk the animal.
Suddenly one of the creatures dashed out to grab a bunny, the shortish green skinned creature leapt to it. Only for their roles to be reversed as the bunny suddenly locked its eyes on the creature and lunged to take a bite out of the green creature’s throat. Dex sat there stunned at the sudden violence. That was brutal Dex thought to himself. Realizing that he truly was in a new world he slumped back to the grass and lay there for a bit.
After some time had passed, Dex sat upright again, glancing over to where the violence took place, Dex noticed something. Mainly the gore had seemingly been cleared as if the attack never took place. Finally getting up to his feet he walked over to the area, noticing that the grass was still deformed from where the corpse was supposed to be. A rustling from the bushes besides him made Dex jump to the side. Looking over he saw another bunny, not sure if it was the same bunny he’d seen before. The bunny stared at him for a second and hopped away. No attacking until it feels threatened Dex thought, though he’d doubt it would be the same for the green creature he saw. It had attacked the bunny maybe thinking it could take it.
After seeing the bunny hopping back into the tree line, he noticed something in the corner of his eyes. A small blue dot that was blinking in a steady rhythm. Reaching with his hand to touch it, it seemingly passed through, and hovered there in place. He tried to look at it directly, only for the dot to move with his perspective, Dex stood up. A thought suddenly coming to mind Dex painted a smug smile on his face System! After a few seconds the blinking dot stayed there, still beating with the same rhythm as before.
Digging in his memories, he tried a long list of other options. Dex sat back down on the ground, couldn’t have given me a manual for this huh... Dex tried to focus on his talk with the Titan before arriving, maybe it was something he said during… WAIT, no no… reincarnate?

A familiar golden light surrounding him suddenly, again looking into a nothingness, and the planet beneath him. Breathtaking Dex thought to himself.
*Hello Dex from earth, it appears you are familiar with the view?*
A feminine voice came from behind him, already craning his neck to look at the Screl. He was a bit shocked to see someone his length, normal facial features, and no extra limbs.
“Huh, you look different from the tall guy I met first.”
The Screl’s eyes widening at that and leaning forward to inspect him. Her eyes glazed over for a few moments. The Screl blinked a few times and continued to speak.
*I see some special circumstances have put you into a position we have not seen before, which was explained by… Titan you called him? Fitting really, he’s a big guy* She nodded to herself sagely, as if the wisest thing was said. *Any way, due to this being a first for even us, and we’ve been around long. It has been decided a standard uhm… what’s a good earth word… tutorial package?*
“So, like a videogame?” Dex asked.
*That word does not exactly translate, but they are instructions for you to survive the dungeon, if that is what you meant?*
Dex nodded at that.
*The tutorial package will last till your class selection at a certain level*
“Uhh, class selection?” Dex asked confused.
*Yes, I’m not allowed to tell you much more about it, you will have to learn it from the tutorial package*
*The Core Dungeon will also be set to your current level, which is zero. And will continue to adjust as is needed for you to learn. Good luck Dex from Earth.*
Before Dex could say anything else he was back in the grass field. Still a bit stunned at once again getting whisked away again. I hope that doesn’t become a regular thing, but it feels weird leaving your physical body behind. After calming down a bit from the experience. Dex formed a grin on his face and simple thought status the screen immediately opening in front of his face, this time displaying what he’d expected.

Human?... what the … Dex stood there stunned, having gained access to his status. Only to have questions fire off in his head. The hell does that mean human fudging question mark, what the hell did those screl do to me… Pacing back and forth with a tsunami of questions still running through his head. Gift from beyond my understanding… the word of the Titan booming in his head. Ohh so even they don’t know… Letting out a defeated sigh he sat back down, focusing on the information the status-screen gave him.
Health is obvious, same for strength and dexterity really, I wonder if there is a correlation between the endurance and stamina stat… Dex mulled over his thoughts, it appeared he wasn’t going to get more information at this time. Trying to focus on the names of the different stat’s did not do anything. Before Dex even continued, he realized, where is my tutorial pack… And as if to read its mind a new screen jumped up.
Welcome to the Tutorial Core Dungeon.
Objective’s listed as priority:
1. Find Water.
2. Find Food.
3. Find Shelter.
4. Gain your first level.
Not much of a tutorial now is it… Dex thought about it, yet he found no difficulty thinking of several ways too forage, water was difficult as he had no idea where he could find it. Dex could create his own shelter. Guess all that knowledge from earth is coming in handy, thanks Titan! Dex thought silently to himself.
Dex stood up with a new determination, finish the tutorial. Dex looked around the area, he noticed the trees were sparser in areas, guess ill start exploring there first, no need to go into the dense parts yet, who knows what lurks there. Carefully stepping towards the tree line, keeping his eyes peeled and head on a swivel. Nothing of note happened. Dex almost started to feel relax even given the circumstances, he spotted the odd animal here and there. Something that looked like a deer but with two horns protruding directly upwards, and the fur a dark green blending in with its environment.
The bunnies also came in different colored furs, the first two he saw a basic white, Dex had spotted a few with a light green color blending in with the bushes. Some had a yellow fur with some darker spots. Dex wasn’t sure what that meant, different types of species or the same with genetic differences? Dex kept wondering when he’d spot some more of the green creatures he saw at the start. Maybe they’d got removed when the dungeon’s level was set to 0, or moved? Dex kept thinking about it when he saw something different. That’s a large group of bunnies… Dex noticed some of them were watching the tree line, while others seemed to dip their heads to the ground.
One of the bunnies then looked up, Dex focused and noticed the area around its mouth was wet. Their drinking! Dex nearly started in a sprint but held off. Calm down Dex, we need to be cautious here there’s bunnies on the lookout. Silently giggling to himself, he crouched and stalked the area. Dex observed for a few minutes from the safety of the tree line. Careful to not break the twigs scattering the area. Dex still could have sworn some of the lookout bunnies had already noticed him, catching glances from them.
Dex worked up the courage, if they’ve noticed me already and are not aggressive because of that… Dex slowly stood up, the lookout bunnies suddenly all focusing on him, sending a shiver down his spine. But soon after they went back to scanning the tree line. Stepping carefully into the small clearing he could see the watering hole the bunnies were drinking from. Dex suddenly realizing he’d be travelling for quite some time and was parched.
Dex approached and the bunnies seemed to give him space, he knelt and cupped some water in his hands. And jumped at the system message popping up, updating him he’d found water.
Objective #1 cleared!
Generating rewards…
Rewards:
2x Waterskin (purifying)
Motes of golden light appeared in front of him, when fully formed he could recognize the outline of waterskins. They dropped to the ground, he picked one up and uncorked it, dipping it in the water it bubbled till it was filled. Taking a long swig, he felt refreshed. Dex noticed some of the bunnies got scared when he jumped, even a few of the outlook bunnies seemed to have locked stares onto him.
A rustling from the bushes tore away their locked stares, as a few of the small green humanoid creatures dashed into the clearing. Before Dex even moved, two of the four green humanoids were already on the ground, the lookout bunnies apparently expecting them. The last two didn’t last much longer either. As soon as the green humanoids entered, as quick they were taken down by the bunnies. The bunnies returned to the watering hole as if nothing happened. Dex walked over to the first two green humanoids that fell, small motes of light were apparently being sucked into the ground. A light blue, light coming from them. He stared at the scene for a bit until the corpses were gone, looking over to the other two who had entered the clearing he saw a similar scene. Except the last corpse seemed to focus the motes of light inwards.
As Dex looked at it, he noticed an outlining of wat seemed to be a gladiator sword forming. He slowly walked over to it picking it up. Huh, interesting at least I can defend myself a bit. A shiver went down his spine again, looking over his shoulder Dex noticed he was under scrutiny of the outlook bunnies again. Dex looked at his still empty water skin and back too the watering hole, however as he moved towards it the outlook bunnies moved into his way blocking him. Uhhh, getting a bad feeling here… Dex contemplated for a bit, before turning around and walking back the way he came. Carefully looking over to the bunnies. Dex noticed they were once again in their docile state. It’s a difference of being armed or not, nodding too himself, he’d focus on finding some food now.
