v1 ch1: Memories of The Past

The capital city of Jin Empire. A city that is so large that it may take weeks for one to travel from one end to another through a cart.

This city was simply named Jin Capital city because of the ruling emperor having the surname, Jin. It was divided into three parts. Outer, Inner, and the Royal Palace. Inner and Outer city were further divided into other parts that depended on wealth, power, and status.

Since the capital city has to follow certain standards there were no beggars on the main roads and streets of the outer district, of course, poor people are everywhere but that doesn't mean that they had to beg for food. Most had simple shops and took part in other activities to earn their living.

Inner-city was different though. Rich families and large clans occupied this area but, even in this part of the city, there was a distinction between powerful and weak families.

In fact, large and powerful families were given so much space inside the inner city that they seemed like a village of their own inside the capital.

One of the families inside the capital city had the same status to be counted as a major clan, Wu clan.

----

The area designated for the Wu clan was further divided into outer and inner parts. One designated to core members of the family and the other for members that joined from outside or branch members of the clan.

There were many buildings and residential areas. Library, herb gardens, and beast pens. The inner and outer parts had each of their own and of course, there was a clear distinction on who could use these facilities.

----

In the inner library, a young boy was surrounded by three different books in a separate reading room. This was Wu Tian, a core member of the Wu clan because his own parents and grandparents were of the core members of the clan.

He was only eleven-year-old but, his eyes and mannerisms were different as most eleven-year-old children were either cultivating to increase their strength or spending their time in entertainment and other activities.

Time and time again Wu Tian read a few pages from the book and closed his eyes. It looked like he was pondering the words written in the book.

Soon, he completed the entire book and let a long breath. His posture relaxed and his eyes closed in silent contemplation.

'I finally completed all my research regarding Houtian realm!' thought Wu Tian after contemplating.

A relaxed smile formed on his face and he jumped down from the chair after collecting the books. He exited the room and surveyed his surroundings, discreetly, pushing the book about alchemy on top.

There were three people from what he observed. It did not take him too much time to make his way through the shelves and sneakily deposit two books while the alchemy book he could deposit easily and openly.

'People will definitely ask questions if they see me studying books about Qi Sea realm.' He reminded himself while looking at some other about alchemy.

This was all a ruse though; Wu tian had just finished reading the last three books on the second floor of the inner library but he had to make himself look like a curious child in regards to alchemy and healing practices.

For a few minutes, he loitered around and checked the books then left the library. No one batted an eye and even paid attention to him since many knew of his studious nature.

----

In the inner section of Wu clan, each house had a wall for privacy. Wu Tian's home was also the same, although the design of each house was slightly different all followed the same theme and color which brought about a united front.

As he entered through the front gate of his house, Wu Tian felt the familiar sensation of array formation that covered the house spread over him. This was also a type of security that made the master of formation know that someone had entered inside.

He was sure that if his father or mother were home then they would already be informed of his arrival.

He entered the main house and directly made his way to the family library where he spotted a woman with jet black hair, a slim physique with her most prominent feature being; emerald eyes. She had a few scrolls opened in front of her while another she was writing in.

His mouth split into a grin as he silently snuck towards the woman but the woman looked right at him with a raised brow.

Stolen story; please report.

"I still felt your intent when you were trying to sneak up on me but congratulations, you were almost able to erase your presence entirely." There was a slight smile on her face as she chided Wu Tian as well as praise him for his efforts.

"I'm back, Mother." He chuckled and sat down beside her.

This beautiful woman is Wu Tian's mother, Wu Méi. Princess of Jin Royal Family and daughter of the emperor. Although she married into the Wu family and took Wu surname after marriage. The family ancestors did not worry about her spreading secrets of Wu family since she took an oath to protect the secrets of the family after marriage.

"Are you done with your studies for today?" She inquired, easily splitting her focus into two different tasks. Talking with her son and writing on the scroll.

Wu Tian made a noise of agreement all the while his attention was focused on the scroll his mother was writing on. His mother was a genius of array formations for her age and created her own technique, becoming a Formation Master at a young age in comparison to other people.

He also inherited this talent from her as she had a very high cultivation realm when she gave birth to Wu Tian. This was a benefit for people who had children with high cultivation even if the probability of having a child was lower. These children would be intelligent and have a better talent for cultivation.

Right now, she was researching formations and Wu Tian who had inherited her talent was also taught by her.

He had difficulty following her thought process and some things she was writing on but he has still understood the general gist of the formation she was trying to develop.

When Wu Mei glanced at her son she smiled at his serious expression and started explaining the array formation that she was working on with easy-to-understand words.

Mother and son quietly discussed with each other. Sometimes Wu Tian would ask questions and his mother would answer. Other times he was asked questions relevant to his level as a test and give answers. Ideas were exchanged and soon two hours passed when a quiet knock was heard on the door.

"Time for lunch." She stated and ruffled her son's hair which caused him to narrow his eyes and comb his hair back with his fingers.

She laughed lightly and watched her son leave the study.

Wi Tian made his way to the smaller building attached to the main house with three rooms. A servant girl was already waiting for him with a bowl of water he greeted her with a nod and dipped his hands afterward drying them with a towel.

He entered his room and immediately found a table full of dishes. Wu Tian dared not to waste a single dish since they were all made by a master spirit chef. A person who specializes in cuisine that is geared towards cultivators. His mother's personal maid that she brought with her from the Royal Palace.

When all the dishes were empty, he entered a state of food coma. The eleven-year-old child with a dopey smile wanted to make his way to the bed and sleep the coma away.

Wu Tian quietly spent a minute where two sides of his mind warred. One was of a child that wanted to laze around and the other a secretive part of his mind that no one knew about.

"I better start cultivating," he muttered to himself and moved to the backyard.

Half of the backyard was a garden with a pond, full of herbs. the other part was a simple training ground.

After a few deep breaths, the atmosphere around him changed. the lazy aura that he projected seemingly evaporating while he started breathing in a specific pattern.

His body moved from one stance to another and the energy that he controlled through his soul strength and divine sense started pushing into the marrow.

This was the last step of the second major realm of cultivation, 'body refining realm.' that he had comprehended by referencing medical books of both lives and other body cultivation techniques.

The process of refining marrow was extremely difficult as it made him feel like thousands of needles were piercing his bones and injecting directly into the marrow.

The only reason he did not stop was because of the other part of his mentality.

A mentality that he developed when he seemingly started remembering memories of another life. Through dreams and meditation when cultivating, he started unlocking memories of past life on Earth at the age of six when he opened his first acupoint.

In the beginning, he was confused since they were only flashes and sounds that seemed to disorientate him and made him question things, making it difficult for him to cultivate and cause him real-life problems.

It was only when he opened half of his acupoints did he regain some of his memories properly. This happened quietly when everyone was he was sleeping quietly one night that he slipped into a trance where he lived a completely different life.

From being born to his graduation from medical college. Moreover, these were not all of his memories since he still had flashes of his memories of a past life where he would inhibit his previous body and experience everything, even emotions.

With these memories came a whole slew of problems that affected his mental health.

Until his memories unlocked Wu Tian was still a six-year-old child but now he had extra memories of a college student.

He was afraid that he might develop multiple personalities from a medical point of view that his memories provided and so he slowed cultivating for a few months to understand what was happening to him.

When he told his parents about seeing things that he did not understand they were considerably worried and invited a healer but he found no problems.

Cultivation needed a calm and focused mind and being bombarded with memories was a sure sign that something wrong might happen so he stopped and focused on his memories all the while studying different texts and medical books.

His activities included painting, calligraphy, alchemy, healing, formations, and other things to pass the time.

These extra activities and memories had a rather positive effect on his mentality. His soul strengthened, he gained eidetic memory, the speed at which he comprehended and digested knowledge increased significantly and the most important of all Wu Tian unlocked his divine sense.

The divine sense was a type of sense that only unlocked when a person reached the third major stage of cultivation, the 'Meridian Opening Realm'.

Having divine sense that spread throughout his body was extremely beneficial. The mental map that it created showed all the inconsistencies and mistakes he previously made when opening his acupoints.

In this way, Wu Tian perfected the first stage of Cultivation. 'Acupoint Opening Realm'
