Edgar continued playing a few more games but oddly there was no system task this time around. His guess was that these tasks were issued once a day. Seeing there was not another task he just continued playing as he normally would. It was okay to take risks in this Elo as you could always outplay your opponent or your opponent can make a mechanical error. By taking such risks you can snowball way harder and close out the games much easier.
When he finished fifth game of the day, winning them all and reaching Silver l, he heard the door open. Edgar’s parents John and Anne were returning from work after a long day. It was currently summer but despite being a teacher, Edgar’s mother had to be present in the school for some time after schools were closed in order to prepare for the next year. Edgar closed his computer and greeted his parents. His feelings were complicated since he did not really consider them as his real parents. His actual parents were always going to be those that before he came to this world. He did not feel awkward or anything like that around his new parents though as he already inherited the memories of the original Edgar. Seeing Edgar coming out of his room to greet them John asked how his day was. Edgar truthfully answered saying Ed came over and hung around for a few hours and he played on his computer after he left. Edgar’s parents were already accustomed him playing video games on his free time. He was the same since they bought him a computer when he was 10 years old.
While his mother was preparing dinner his sister Catherine also came home. Catherine was two years younger than Edgar and was also in High School. She must have been hanging out with his friends Edgar thought. Unlike Edgar Catherine was much more outgoing and had a lot of friends which she would hang out regularly. Their parents were not strict as long as you do not stay overnight at someone’s house. If you wanted to, you had to inform them so they could know where you were at. While the normal conversation was going on, Edgar chose to silently listen as both Catherine and John started talking about their days. When the dinner was ready and everyone was seated at the table their father decided to ask how his studies were going. Edgar said the usual ‘going well’ and tried to close the conversation. His father wanted him to go to a university but Edgar had no such plans. His plan was to play League of Legends professionally for his favorite team. Edgar considered telling the truth but then he thought about how he was still a Silver l player. Getting to Challenger first and explaining to them what that meant and how there was a chance he could play professionally would work out much better, he thought.

After finishing his dinner Edgar excused himself and went into his room. He opened his client and queued up for another game as he was impatient about reaching Platinum as soon as possible. This time though he decided he would play other champions and try to improve on them. Matches went pretty well he had four wins and one loss due to his top laner being afk. When he finally reached his promos he played seven games already and the time was getting late. He decided he would not sleep as he was used to staying up all night playing League and started his promos. He was 2-1 on his promos and his support decided he could 1v2 the opponent bot lane and died. When he question marked he said you do not even know the game, shut up and ignored him for the rest of the game. It wouldn’t have been too bad if it was just the laning phase but he caught out a lot during the mid game and we lost due to that. As the score was 2-2 Edgar prayed so that he could get decent teammates. His prayer was rewarded and everyone seemed to be doing well in their respective roles. He finished the game with a 8/1/9 score and finally reached Gold V.
