Chapter 2: Coffee.

Noise returned with a steaming coffee.

"I'm no scientist, but this can't be that good for you Producer."

"It's not meant to. The point is to keep me awake."

"There has to be a better way than this."

"If you can find one, sure."

"I'll try my best!"

Noise skipped out of the room again.

Later...

Shikikan had stumbled towards the Maid Cafe. He opened the door, almost falling inside. He walked towards a seat, each footstep an effort through the tiredness in his bones.

"Sorry customer! We're about to close. Come back tomorrow and we can serve you!"

He could hear Ade's voice coming from the kitchen, probably cooking the next day's meal. Now understanding her voice, that was something his brain was too tired to do.

"Didn't you hear me? Soda, please remove them from the premises."

"Sure!"

And that's Soda.

He could feel the footsteps approaching the kitchen door before it was flung open. Soda looked around in annoyance, before seeing him.

"Master!"

She ran over to him.

"Hey Soda."

"Master, what's wrong? You look like you haven't slept for ages!"

"I wanted to say thanks for that coffee."

"You should thank Privaty for that. But you shouldn't have drunk it! Is that why you look like this?"

"Probably. Well, now I've got to get to Coin Rush. See you later."

He got up, wobbled two steps, and almost fell over. Soda grabbed him just before he hit the floor. She pulled him by the back of the shirt until he was upright again and pushed him back into his seat.

"Master, you don't look like you can make it there. Can't you just do it tomorrow?"

"I promised Volume that I would solve this tonight."

"Soda, what's taking so long?"

"It's Master. He needs help getting to the casino."

Ade burst through the kitchen door as well, seeing him barely stay awake.

"Master, you don't look like you're fit to walk like that. Let me call someone to pick you up if it's this urgent."

"Thanks."

As Ade called someone to pick him up, Shikikan's brain decided now was a good time for a nap.
