On a certain peaceful day, on a certain land . . .
*IN A CERTAIN UNDERGROUND CITY*
03:45AM
In a certain dark room . . .
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
"Gasp!"
A certain normal-looking lady wakes up from the sounds of sirens blaring next to her bed.
Her name is Dr Nava Einstein; formerly, the 2nd Queen of the Empire; currently, an Administrator of the Garden of Eden.
She puts her glasses on and looks to the other side of her bed . . .
"Wah!"
She is surprised by a scruffy-looking man who is sleeping in a seated position, next to her, on her bed.
His name is Alan Neet; formerly, subject 001 of Nava's heinous super soldiers experiment, Project-D; currently, the President of the Garden of Eden.
*FALL*
*BAM*
Nava falls down from her bed and knocks her head
"Ouch!"
She peeks up to her bed and looks at Alan.
"He is sleeping in that uncomfortable position again.
I invited him over because he is always sleeping on his office chair.
But now he is sleeping in a seated position on the bed instead.
Even last night when we . . . "
*Flashback to last night*
Nava suddenly remembers her long night with Alan and blushes.
"I still can't get used to it no matter how many times we do it"
She holds her warm cheeks.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
But she is quickly brought back to reality by the sound of the siren.
Then, she looks to Alan again.
She puts her fingers over the man's nose.
*inhale*
*exhale*
"He's alive.
He really sleeps like he's dead.
How is he not awake from all the noise?"
She gets out of bed, puts on a shirt, and walks towards her computers where the sirens are blaring.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
"I wonder if it's Mr Magnamus and Ms Seraphina tripping the alarms off again.
They like to fly around that area afterall.
Or maybe it's Ms Ram"
She turns off the siren, and looks at the main computer screen.
*ALERT! ALERT! ALERT!*
*SSS-CLASS THREAT DETECTED!*
An image displays on the computer screen, showing Nava exactly what the SSS-Class Threat is.
"Eh?!
Impossible!!!"
Nava goes into her usual panic mode.
She tries to wake Alan up, shaking him violently.
"PRESIDENT! PRESIDENT!
THIS IS BAD!
IT'S AN EMERGENCY!
WE NEED TO CALL FOR AN URGENT ADMINISTRATOR'S MEETING!
PRESIDENT!
ARGH!!
IT'S NO USE!
JUST HOW DEEPLY DOES THIS PERSON SLEEP?!"
"zzz . . . zzz"
The author's narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
Alan remains in his deep slumber.
*IN A CERTAIN KINGDOM OF A CERTAIN EMPIRE*
05:00AM
A certain sniper positions herself at the apex of a certain skyscraper.
She wears a black military uniform, and a white trench coat with a roman numeral on the back.
Her name is Queen Ying Yan; the 10th Queen; one of the 14 Kings of the Empire.
She oversees every single person in the Kingdom and their every little movements from the top of the tower that she guards.
Nothing escapes her keen eyes.
For this reason, her weapon is a scopeless sniper rifle.
A rifle scope is nothing more than a distraction to Ying Yan.
"Qi Guai! (Weird!)
The day is peaceful and the wind is still.
There's not a single movement on the ground.
Yet, why . . .
Why is it that I can't calm down?!
My instincts are telling me that something is wrong.
What is it?!"
Ying Yan, who could see even the ends of the world, for some reason, could not see the imminent threat that her senses are screaming to her about.
But it wasn't long till she realises why she couldn't see the threat.
It's because it is coming from where she would not normally see.
A catastrophic threat from far above the top of the skyscraper that she is standing upon; coming from far beyond the heavens . . .
Ying Yan cannot believe her on eyes.
"Bu Ke Neng! (Impossible!!)"
What is reflected deep behind Ying Yan's jade-coloured eyes is a world destroyer; an unbelievably huge meteor, the size of a big city.
"Mei You Shi Jian! (There is no time!)
I need to alert the Empress and call for an urgent King's Conference!"
At this time, only Nava and Ying Yan are aware of the imminent calamity.
*AT A CERTAIN EDGE OF THE WORLD*
06:00AM
As the dawn breaks . . .
deep in the mountains, next to a certain giant waterfall and lake . . .
Seven titanic mystical beings unusually gather in the same place:
Zara, a dark sabertooth tiger that distorts all space around itself;
Moby Dick, a white whale that swims in the sky;
Hiyashimaru, an elegant crystal ice phoenix that freezes its surrounding;
Wu Kong, a burning ape holding a golden staff and scorching everything in its vicinity;
Kumiho, a beautiful nine tailed fox;
Beelzebub, an ominous spider that can't stop eating; and
Leviathan, a incredibly enormous water wyrm that makes even the other giant beings seem small.
"Hiyashimaru!
Stop freezing the mountains!
You are killing all the animals!"
Wu Kong looks at the frozen animals in sorrow.
"HaHaHa!
Wu Kong, you are scorching the mountains that you are sitting on yourself!"
"Moby Dick!
I'm actually really hungry for a juicy fried fish now!"
Wu Kong becomes extremely hostile.
"Sigh!
Why are boys always so immature?"
Kumiho sighs.
"AHHH?!
KUMIHO!
SHOULD I START WITH YOU FIRST?!"
The flames covering Wu Kong burns furiously.
"You guys, try to keep it down . . .
I'm so tired . . . YAWN!!!"
Zara, who is lazing around, could not be bothered involving herself in the squabble.
"Nom! Nom! Nom!"
Beelzebub is busy stuffing her face.
"Siblings"
A voice echoes from the heavens.
The sky darkens.
An enormous wyrm descends from the cloud.
It's Leviathan.
His singular call silenced the other mystical beings.
"And?
Why did you call us here Leviathan?
I'm tired enough as it is . . . YAWN!!!"
Zara winges.
"Zara . . .
As slothful as ever.
That's fine. That is precisely why you are God's Sloth.
My siblings.
You have all realised that a world destroyer is approaching us as we speak"
"What 'world destroyer'?!
It's just a damn meteor!"
Wu Kong interrupts abruptly angrily.
"Wu Kong, my brother.
God's Wrath.
Your anger is very well-founded.
The humans are plotting to destroy the meteor, our salvation"
"Destroy the 'world destroyer'?!
HAHAHAHA!!!
OF COURSE THERE'S NO WAY THEY CAN DO THAT!
HAHAHA!
WHAT EXACTLY ARE THOSE PUNY CREATURES THINKING?!"
"My sister, Kumiho.
God's Envy.
Do not underestimate humans.
My eyes have sighted upon three individuals that are as powerful as those of us here.
They may very well succeed"
"HUMANS THAT ARE AS POWERFUL AS GODS?!
SURELY YOU JEST, ELDER BROTHER!"
Moby Dick remarks sarcastically.
"My brother, Moby Dick.
God's Lust.
That is the truth.
It is a wonderful news indeed"
"And?
Should we . . . YAWN! . . .
let the humans destroy the meteor?
YAWN! . . .
This is our long awaited opportunity in five millennia to finally die and end our miserable lives, no?
YAWN! . . . Living is so tiring . . .
I just want to die . . . "
Zara may seem pessimistic but these legendary beings, these Gods, have suffered for many centuries from the curse called Life.
The Gods have become very tired of Life.
For this reason, they have pushed humanity to the brink of extinction to wring out human's desperation for survival.
So that humans will in turn find a way to finally kill the Gods.
In other words, humans are God's hope for salvation.
Ironically, hearing Leviathan's words, the Gods become hopeful about dying.
"Leviathan, I hear what you're saying.
I shall acknowledge that humans are no longer weak like before.
Even then, like Zara said, the meteor is our chance to finally die.
Why should we let the humans destroy it?!"
Wu Kong speaks in an unusually calm and logical manner.
"My siblings.
I have a proposal.
There are no guarantees that the meteors can kill any of us.
We have lived for too long, and have become too powerful.
Let's leave the humans to do what they want with the meteor.
The humans may fail in their endeavours and the meteor will still strike this planet.
But if humans destroys the meteor, it just means that they are becoming stronger as we have planned.
They would have proven that they have the capabilities to kill Gods"
The Gods agree in silence.
[X HOURS UNTIL METEOR'S IMPACT]
