A mysterious figure starts speaking to a rather good-looking blonde woman.

"They will never believe her, and the legend of Pandora's box being opened will never come true," said the mysterious figure. "The legend was just something the gods made up to give themselves false hope."

The blonde lady said, "Bullcrap! You may think it is nonsense, but I know for a fact that it will happen."

"It’s the gods' will, as told by the stars of destiny. However, this destiny isn’t the true destiny. I was once a goddess myself. I will shatter this so-called destiny," she said and then proceeded to start laughing.

Suddenly, the mysterious man in the cloak said, "She just managed to make the military believe."

"What?" the blonde lady said. "Oh well, I was honestly thinking that she would not be able to make them believe her unless she showed them her true power. So, she’s that scared of me, huh?" she said.

"Very well, enter in then, your holiness, the goddess of peace. Enter in, your chosen warriors," she then proceeded to do an evil villain laugh.

**The Vile Of Power Chapter 1: War with Another World - The Goddess Of Peace’s Gift!**

A strange woman in a pink cloak walks up to the gates of a military base, and two guards ask her what she is doing there. She says that she is a goddess and she has to warn them about a war that another world wants to start with their world due to an oracle's prediction that their secret will be leaked to that world.

Both guards stare at each other for a moment then proceed to laugh. One said, "Ha! You're a goddess." The other finished the sentence by saying, "And I am John the Baptist! Hahaha!"

The goddess then says, "No, I am being serious. Please listen to me." Both guards then stare at each other again. Then one whispers in the other's ear. He says, "I don’t think she's joking." The other says back, "I think she's a nutcase. Let's call security." The other then says, "Alright."

Guard number 1 then says, "Alright, miss. We believe you." The girl then says, "Really? That’s a relief. Now I don’t have to use my powers." Guard number 2 says, "Hold on while I radio the boss." He pulls out the radio and whispers to the guy on the other end, "Hey boss, we have a crazy woman saying that she's a goddess and talking about some sort of war."

The boss is silent for a moment then whispers back, "I’ll send some security guards over." After 20 seconds, a bunch of men in soldier uniforms began to surround the strange girl.

The girl then thinks to herself, "Oh well, looks like they did not believe me. I was hopeful that they might, but then again, not many people would blindly believe a random stranger claiming to be a goddess. I could be just some random person who runs a cult."

Suddenly, the girl runs forward so fast it looks like she disappeared then reappears where she was before. While it may look like she just disappeared and reappeared like a magician, really she was just moving faster than the human eye can see.

The soldiers then all at the same time say the same thing, almost like they shared the same brain cell. They all said, "Do you think your weird magic trick would scare us? I mean, we are not…" But before they could finish, a giant gust of wind targeted their chests, the weak spot of most people.

The wind went bam, pow, zing, bang! One by one, all 100 soldiers went down in the blink of an eye. For extra measure, the woman even destroyed a tank in the same second as the soldiers. A tank that was in front of the boss of the facility and had it break in front of him.

I know what you may be thinking: why would she break a tank? I mean, he would believe her, but now he probably hates her because she broke one of the base's expensive tanks. But that's where you would be wrong. You see, the tank was not permanently broken. After it broke, she, while still being outside, said, "Restore," and then the tank looked like it rewound time. The broken pieces began putting themselves back together, almost as if she rewound time.

The guards both looked pale. The boss looked horrified, probably because of the fact he almost had a heart attack when he realized that the expensive top-secret super tank that he spent most of the citizen's tax dollars to build ended up in pieces but was thankfully alright. I mean, if it was not, the taxes might’ve gotten raised due to the expensive tank being broken.

The two guards looked at each other for a few moments. The boss of the military rewinded the security footage, trying to see what happened by slowing it down, but no matter how much he slowed down the footage, he could not see what happened. Eventually, the monitor that he was viewing it on blew up due to being pushed beyond its capabilities.

Guard 1 sighed, clearly not sure what happened. He then said, "Alright, miss, what are you a goddess of?" He said.

The woman then said, "I am the goddess of peace. My name is Elina." Guard 1 then said, "My name is Aoki." Guard 2 said, "My name is Goro." "So, there’s a rogue goddess who wants to start a war with our world," Goro said.

Elina then said, "Yes, but mainly your country, since that's where the leak is said to start." Aoki and Goro looked at each other for a moment, then said, "So, how do we fight back?"

One year later, I Noro the heroine of this story was told that my training is done, and I was supposed to meet up with the, whose name is Taka. He’s the Sergeant of our squad, the squad that is supposed to fight in this war.

Once I entered the meeting hall, Sergeant Taka says, "Welcome, Noro. Have a seat in that chair over there." I then ask, "Sir, is there something you need?" "Oh wait, I get it. It’s finally time you tell me what this training you had me and a bunch of other people in the military do one year ago after this incident you mentioned."

I then said, "Well, I hope that this new mission will finally be what will make me the hero I always wanted to be, like the protagonists of the animes I grew up on as a kid."

Sergeant Taka then explained to me what happened a year ago and why a bunch of us soldiers were called out on short notice. Naturally, I was shocked. I mean, who wouldn’t be? How would you feel if you were told that, for example, the reason why your parents had you take over their family business on short notice while they were away was that aliens wanted to kidnap them to learn the secret recipe on how they make their soup?

You would think they were joking, and that's the conclusion I came to. But Sergeant Taka insisted that it was true, and I said, "Yeah, and pigs can fly." So he showed me the video evidence. I just stood there for a moment, looking down at the floor, then said, "Did you really waste everyone's tax dollars on some video you had a professional editor make in Adobe Premiere?"

He then shouted, "Why the hell would I spend people's tax money on something as stupid as that?" I said, "I don’t know, because you do that all the time, like when you used people's tax money on your prized tank."

He said, "Fine, if you don’t believe me, I have no choice." Elina, it’s time. I said, "Elina? But nobody's here." He said, "Look out the door." I then saw a pretty girl with long gray hair in the doorway disappear. And then, before I could say anything, I suddenly felt a pain in my gut. I screamed, "Ow," and then fell to my knees. I look up, and the girl reappears in the doorway. Elina then said, "Believe us now?"

I nodded, still on the ground holding my gut. Elina then said, "Heal," and suddenly, I did not feel any pain I said, "How?" Elina then said, "Because I am the goddess of peace. While yes, I did hurt you, I also healed you. I have the ability to strike a person's vital points causing them to go unconscious or in your case a gut punch. While you guys in the military are trained for gut blows, it means nothing with someone with my power."

I said, "Okay, then why don’t you fight in the war?" She said, "Because the goddess council would have my head on a platter if I did. One of the rules I am supposed to follow is to not interfere with humans affairs. Likewise, I am not allowed to interfere with another goddess's affairs. The only goddesses allowed to do that are the ones accepted into the goddess council. Their job is to punish any goddesses that break the rules."

I said, "So wait, isn’t this goddess breaking one of those rules then by starting a war with us over some prediction? Isn’t that interfering with humans affairs?" Elina then says, "No, it’s only interfering if the goddess does it on her own. She’s got a cult backing her up. She’s able to get away with it under a technicality."

I then said, "Why does the goddess council exist if they have such oversights like this? In our world, let's say there's a law saying that only one person in an organized terrorist attack can get arrested so the leader of a terrorist group can get out of it. There would be mass backlash. So, why doesn't the other goddesses get mad or riot?"

Elina responds with, "Because it’s illegal to question their authority." I then say, "Well, that's dumb. So other goddesses like you have to work past the laws under technicalities to stop evil rogue goddesses who are doing the same thing."

Elina nods her head up to say yes. I then said, "Perfect. I always wanted to be a hero. I always wanted to be like Soku, the sand warrior of planet vegetable, or Beku of the anime 'Our Warrior Academy'. This is perfect." But then I said in a concerned tone, "Wait a minute, how the hell are we supposed to fight back? Humans in our world don’t really have any powers."

Elina then says, "I’ll let Sergeant Taka explain further. I have to do some more preparations." Elina then left the room, and Sergeant Taka began to explain. He said, "You will have to go use a vile. It’s called the vile of power. It was Elina's gift to us to help us in the war. You see, Long Ago, The Goddess Pandora Was Admired as the goddess of our world. But one day, they say she snapped and killed her second in command. The goddess council started a trial, and the jury stated that she was to be executed and have her limitless power as a goddess put in a vile. This vile was called the vile of power."

"They say that whoever pours it into a cup and takes a sip of the liquid in the vile gets to have whatever ability they want. The cup even refills itself after being poured. But don’t think that because of this fact that you should take more than one cup. The vile will gain Pandora's curse, and their soul will leave their body and their energy will be placed in the vile."

"It's said that the person's soul will stay there forever. Funnily enough, I did not hear the story Taka was going to say until later. For you see, Sergeant Taka was so focused on the story that he did not realize that I left after he told me where to find it. Sergeant Taka, realizing what happened, freaked out. He screamed, 'Oh no,' then said, 'I sure hope that Noro doesn’t do what is warned against. She’s the best chance we got, and I would hate it if we lost her.'"

I made my way into the room with the vile, and I saw it. I said, "What? This is it? I was expecting it to take over the whole room. How do they expect this to last for every soldier?" I then sighed and said, "Oh well, down the hatch," and I drank the glowing orange liquid from the vile instead of putting it in a cup because like I said, I was not told the story until it was too late.

As for the ability I choose, I choose teleportation. I remembered watching an anime where a character had used teleportation in a way that I did not think of by using it to teleport needles in their body or getting hostages out of a dangerous situation. I figured that this power could be very useful.

I am about to leave when I heard what sounded like water being poured into a cup being me while seeing a glowing orange light behind me. I thought, "What the hell was that?" I looked behind me, and then I saw that the vile was refilled. I then said, "Well then, I guess it could not hurt to get a second power. Maybe electricity powers?" I thought, clearly giving in to one of the seven deadly sins known as greed which isn’t a good sign as you can tell.

After drinking the vile for a second time, I think to myself, "Wait a moment. When I drank it the first time, I felt a bit different. It felt like the power was flowing through me like I have been reborn. But now, I don’t feel anything. Does that mean it did not work?" I thought to myself.

Right when I was about to go to the door, I felt a pain in my chest, and then I combusted into flames. I screamed and felt in pain. I felt like my soul was being ripped out of me like I was being dragged into the vile. But then all of a sudden, I hear a voice.

It was a girl's voice. She said, "Human who dares try and milk my power for all it’s worth. Do you even know about the legend? No one has been stupid enough to pull what you did for 5 thousand years. The story of the curse has become legendary. So let me ask you, human girl, why take that risk?"

"Take that risk?" I asked. "What risk? I was just told about having to help out with some sword, and that there was some vile that the goddess Elina gave to us as a gift. So is this curse why I felt that my body was being dragged into the vile?"

Suddenly, the girl begins to laugh. She says, "So it’s as my oracle predicted years ago. It predicted that an eccentric girl with no powers of her own would visit me and become the one to be a vessel for my soul. I thought the oracle was wrong back then, but that was before I was betrayed by someone who was my second in command. They made it seem like I was trying to kill them."

"And because of them, the corrupt goddess council put my head on a platter for thousands and thousands of years I spent being in this vile waiting for the girl with light blue hair and a weird green outfit, a girl with something that the oracle called a bow in her hair."

"Okay, then girl with a hero complex, I will help you become the hero you want to be, the one that will come on top." Suddenly, the flames that surrounded me stopped hurting, and the flames started to take the form of a sword. "Girl, what is your name?" the girl said. "Noro," I said. "My name is Noro."

"Noro, hmm," the girl said. "You have a lovely name. My name is Pandora." I said, "Pandora as in Pandora's box?" Pandora then said, "Yes, this sword you see before you is the sword of Drake, my 1st in command. Unlike my 2nd in command, Drake stayed loyal to me and tried to vanquish the goddess of war."

"I then said the goddess of war?" Pandora then said, "Yes, the goddess of war, Athena. Many years ago, Athena went to war with me. As I said already, Athena is or was the goddess of war, but me, I am the goddess of chaos. Drake was called the fire dragon, and he was Athena's second in command. He had overheard about her war and argued back. He said, 'But Athena, I just thought in a war for you.'"

"Athena snapped at Drake and said to him that he should not be disobeying her orders. Drake said sorry, but then saw me in secret and went to warn me about the war. But after he told me, I told him I already knew. During my last meeting with my oracle, I was told about it and told that a warrior would come to fight with me, one that was on a journey to find their missing kin."

"Drake said that warrior is me, Lady Pandora." Pandora then said that she said to him, "Please don’t be so formal, just call me Pandora. Unlike Athena, I don’t make my soldiers do any bootlicking."

"I, Pandora, and Drake ended up becoming close. One could say that we were friends, maybe even more than that. But while preparations for the war were almost done, Athena managed to break into my territory along with a bunch of her loyal followers. Athena had always wanted to use Drake's flame sword for evil, but Drake refused to give it to her. So she ended up using him by making a fake promise."

"I ended up inheriting Drake's flame sword before he died, and so Athena tried taking it from me multiple times. But I managed to drive her out every time. Then she had my second in command betray me, and so I ended up waiting for you, the person in the last permission I got. I just stood there in shock. At that point, I realized that Athena was probably the one who started this war, and she’s the one with the dark past that she’s trying to hide."

Pandora then said, "Here, take it. Take the flame sword. This is the sword that solidified my name as the goddess of chaos. Before it, everyone thought it was a mistake. They all said the goddess of chaos should have flame powers and not just super strength. They thought I was a mistake. Chaos is supposed to be represented by endless flames."

"Flames of rage, a rage that's unable to be controlled. This type of rage is what makes you a berserker. It makes your moves unpredictable. Even though these flames got me my acknowledgment from the goddess council, I was never able to gain the ability to control the power of a berserker, to use it by will. It’s why I couldn't defend myself from my execution and why I died."

I then said, "You're not as bad as what you were made out to be before your soul was put in the vile," I said, assuming that based on what she said, something happened to ruin her reputation.

Pandora told me where to find it. Sergeant Taka, realizing what happened, freaked out. He screamed, 'Oh no,' then said, 'I sure hope that Noro doesn’t do what is warned against. She’s the best chance we got, and I would hate it if we lost her.'"

I then said, "You're not as bad as what you were made out to be before your soul was put in the vile." Pandora then said, "No, I am not bad. The souls I did take were ones of bad, evil people who wanted to use my power for evil." I said, "Ah, I thought so.
