In Search of Blood

(Hundreds of years ago)

“Alpha” An elder man with a can said.

He and Alpha were at the center of a graveyard, paying respects to the elder Wolve’s of Polaris.

“Yes, Greyclaw” Alpha said, bowing to his elder. He was very young, barely big enough to hold a sword.

“I understand you are venturing to the land of the fallen, for what purpose do you seek this place?” Greyclaw asked.

“I am looking for a way bring us Werewolves and Vampires together”

“But it is that very place that separated us, and nearly ended us, 100 years ago…”

“I know Elder Grey, but still I must search the land, I cannot rest until I have exhausted every option, my heart compels me to act!”

“And to whom is your heart directed? Is it towards the future of our people? Or a vampire woman?” The Elder asked.

Alpha hesitated, but after gritting his teeth spoke.

“I cannot lie, it is towards both, I feel due to my feelings the two have become interconnected”

“Hmm” The Elder said, stroking his beard.

“The Vampires are indeed a problem, though we are both nearly immortal beings they have the advantage of being able to consume to become stronger which gives them the advantage.

“What do you mean nearly? I thought both of us were immortal? I have been stabbed through the hear by a wild boar and lived with ease.”

“That is because you are an Alpha, the leader of your pack, Vampires are similar, they have leaders that are also very difficult to kill but even they are not truly immortal.”

“Then why is it we refer to ourselves as immortal?”

“Because, we live forever,” Greypaw said. “But, that doesn’t mean we cannot be killed. You are still to young to understand the way of bloodshed, but in time, you find the difference between the immortals and the Psuedo-immortals alike.”

“Greyclaw…” Alpha said. “I want to know now…If I were ever to fight a vampire, how would I know whether or not he was immortal?”

Greyclaw eyes became sharp as a hawk, and he spoke without even the smallest hint of emotion.

“Their skull,” Greyclaw said. “The skull of an immortal is nearly indestructible, and as long as it survives, the user cannot die.”

SPLAT!!!

“HEHAHAHA!” Alpha screamed, smashing the skulls of the vampire knights together like pumpkins.

He scoured the halls, ripping his opponents to shreds.

“Silver legion! Attack!” A vampire knight commanded. As he spoke, a team of vampires with silver weapons crowded around Alpha.

They swiped their blades at him, unable to land a blow.

“Silver, that’s no good” Alpha said “It won’t kill me but it sure as hell will leave a mark.”

Sweeping his arm to the right a pair of silver claws ejected from his right hand.

“Imposible!” The vampire knights screamed. “He has his weakness in his claws?”

“That’s right” Alpha said, gathering up strength. “That’s why other werewolves never fight the Alpha! Because a limb cut from him will not easily grow back!”

Alpha swiped his hand across the soldiers, leaving a trail of silver light sparkling through the air like a metal rope. With one tug, he removed all of their heads like they were plucked from a vine, Lining them up for a finishing strike.

As soon as the heads had landed themselves in a reasonable formation, he shot out a nail from his ripping the heads to shreds.

“Haha!” Alpha screamed as blood reigned down from their bodies. “It’s not enough, no, not nearly enough!”

Galloping up the next steps with the scent of blood in his nostrils, he hummed a lullaby of death under his breath.

“I need them… All of them… To feel my pain! I want them to understand the beast they have created!”

Up on the lower floors of the castle, Elise was meeting with her attendants.

“So the Alpha has escaped,” A well dressed vampir with a long nose chuckled. “How shall we retrieve him?”

“Save it Claudius” A giant Vampire with a large chest rebutted. “Leave this one to me.”

“None of you are a match,” Elise said, shaking her head. “It will take at least a Pteropus , or a Acerodon to deal with this level of-”

“My Lady” The giant chest vampire said, bowing down. “That will not be necessary, an Alpha that is not even considered the lead wolf of his clan should be the equivalent of our ranks here as Craseons, I see no reason a high rank knight would need to deal with this.”

“Julius, Do as you will, but I am going to contact the Order, one of their knights may be in the area. If you want to needlessly die, that is your decision.”

“Yes My Lady” Julius nodded.

As Elise left the hallway, Julius and Cluadius became locked in a face off.

“Whoever kills him first” Claudius began

“Gets Elise’s bed”

At the end of the 5th floor corridor, Alpha continued to run through the halls searching for blood.

“Damn Elise…” Alpha groaned. “She must have told them I’m no ordinary Alpha”

“Stop right there” Alpha heard from the corner of the hall.

Coming from the shadows were two large vampires each at least seven feet tall.

One of them had an extremely thin figure with a slim nose that stuck out from his long white hair. The other a near bald man with shoulders as big as mountains grinning from ear to ear as he entered the room.

“You’ve made it quite far, but this is where things end for you,” Claudius said, drawing a blade of silver.

“Agreed” Julius said, drawing a silver battle Ax.

“Any last words?” Claudius said as Alpha stood in front of them.

“So, instead of sending me a real opponent they sent you two as fodder to buy time… This is unlike Elise, she doesn’t like involving others in our affair… that is unless..”

“Unless what!” Julius boomed.

“You fools were stupid enough to volunteer yourselves!”

As Alpha boomed he transformed into his werewolf form once again ready to take on his opponents.

“Since when… are Alpha’s this big?” Claudius said whimpering

“It’s just like Elise said, she picked him for a reason, but that won’t make me falter!” Julius roared.

“She picked me?” Alpha said. “Do you honestly believe that to be true?”

(Hundreds of years ago)

“Alpha…” Elise said, stroking his face. They laid naked on the mossy stones of an old cathedral.

“If we do this… I don’t know what will happen, the legends say you may end up dying.”

“To go from this world inside your beauty” Alpha said, kissing her neck.

She passionately moaned as he pressed himself into her strong. “Is a death I willingly choose.”

(Back to Present)

“When it is you two who pass from this world, will you too say you chose me? Will you say it was you who chose your deaths? Or I?”
