For the next few days, the survivors of the high school worked relentlessly to improve their skills and achieve the end goal of beating the beetle hive that had taken so many of their classmates and teachers.
During this time everyone managed to unlock their magic potential. This led to mass mana control sessions to get people used to using the ability without passing out. Of Course at the head of these lessons was Mr.Valko.
Along with these lessons, people were delegated to areas that needed more manpower as well as areas that needed more improvement and research. The Principal didn’t want to lag in any of these areas, fearing that they might miss something important for their survival. Knowing this the Principal decided to send the magically awakened to the places they would be needed and most useful.
First and foremost the few people that had taken the medical class along with the nurse were all put together into one team to practice. However for obvious reasons the principal had to cut down on the freshman and Sophomores of the nurse team in studying the possibility of healing magic. It was because the principal and everyone one of the surviving staff agreed that what the nurse's team was to be researching something not to be messed with by anyone that didn’t have at least experience in the area. The internships the Juniors and Seniors received were enough to make up for that.
Second, the Magisterium was limited to 40 people. Way too many people wanted to join their team and study ‘the secrets of magic’ full time, however, the principal could not have over 100 people just working on magic alone and most likely just fooling around more than researching. So Mr.Valko was put in charge of picking the remaining spot for his team.
The third would be the Artificerium. They had an interesting situation. Their team was not fully just meant to manufacture, repair, and build items, their members were also part of the Valiant First Order (VFO) and were to train with them much like Coach McConnell has been doing so far.
The VFO was further split into different teams, each with its own specialization. There was the Ranged team composed mostly of the surviving Archery club members, they were led by Emilia and Arran. The next was the Shield Wielders, they were being groomed to likely be the vanguards in their upcoming battle. They were led by Officer Wheeler and Fitzpatrick. The rest were just squads of people that would stay in between the Shield wielders and the Archers. The principal herself was part of one of these squads.

[Day 66 {week 8}] - Wednesday - February 25, 0000 A.A
Day 66, was the day the principal discontinued the Nail gun project. It was too much of a pain to get working and wasted precious time they could be using doing more productive stuff. In all honesty Principal, Salinas was more willing to invest in the crossbows than the improved nail gun. The crossbows had shown much more results than working with the nail gun.
Neo and the people that had been working on the nail gun were a little peeved about the whole thing, but they could understand why.
Their time was running out. The school’s foundation was crumbling as the beetles dug their tunnels beneath their feet. Just the day before a loud and audible crash was investigated, only to find that the Auditorium had collapsed on itself and was now just a pile of rubble.
The bathroom which had helped for so long had become clogged as the beetles broke the plumbing system. So now the principal had to delegate people to be on latrine duty. Though the janitors were going to take that task, Coach McConnell decided to use it as a punishment for the worst-performing teens during training, those who were late, and the slackers. It helps push the teens to do better during their training.
Furthermore, the power had still not come back on. The group was fairly sure the beetles weren’t the cause of this, as other buildings were lacking power as well. Either way, this meant that the Magisterium had to regularly send members to not only keep the lights going, but also act as glorified generators and stoves when needed.
And Wizards did not like being any of those things.

Along with all these changes, a sparring session between Coach McConnell and Officer Wheeler yielded a new skill related to Sev. This skill was a shield. Though magic could create a shield as well, a sev shield was more of a personal shield than one that could be let anywhere. Unlike its magic counterpart, a Sev shield didn’t need to have its energy woven tightly. It was essentially a coating that covered the skin like armor. A Sev shield could also not be more than a few centimeters away from the source or else it dissipated.
How different both shields were apart from that was left up to debate.
